Shrek: WHAT IS CODY DOING IN MY SWAMP
I thought you already did that one
Yay!
@@PussInBootsTheLastWishFan2003 no I didn’t or else it would be on my channel already
@@ItsTotallyCody I may have confused you with someone else since I have seen a lot of commentary’s of a lot of movies
The first 10 minutes of the film is masterpiece I cry every time I watch it
And the rest is just great
@@PussInBootsTheLastWishFan2003 it’s still an amazing film though
@@bountyhunterbobafett153 yeah but the rest of movie kinda keeps it away from a masterpiece but it would’ve been more improved if they discover more animals and if they have more ostacles and the runtime would be longer so I have some nitpicks
While I think UP is a good movie, I think it could have been a legendary short film (maybe a bit longer than the intro). I have no complaints as it is though.
I give UP a 9/10
Everyone always praises the first 10-15 minutes which is very well deserved, but the rest of the film is amazing too. Especially the scenes towards the end, with Carl's change of heart his relationship with Russel
Won't lie, one of my favorite parts of this movie is that Russel's dad DOESNT show up. It's a more realistic and emotional ending then for seeing Carl there for him.
Facts
Wait why do they praise the first 10 minutes specifically?
@@christopherjove7035 Ellie’s life with Carl I believe. The intro is seen as beautiful.
This movie ALWAYS makes me cry, and watching someone react to it is no different. STOP MAKING ME CRY!!
SAME!! Its straight up one of the best animated films of all time, no doubt about it!!
It makes me cry even more when Cody cries XDD
Fun fact:
One of my friends voiced Russel in the Italian version.
Another fun fact:
If you like Spider-Man, you should watch Into the Spiderverse.
Also another fun fact: if you like Spider-Man into the spiderverse you would like Soul too
Spiderverse is a must watch if he’s on an animated movie spree! Even though it’s neither Disney, Pixar or Dreamworks (which he’s currently watching), it’s absolutely spectacular!
YES! Into the Spiderverse is AMAZING.
Now that’s cool✌🏻😳
That’s awesome
The first 10 minutes is a short film in itself
Yah the name is
Life
I love this movie so much! I used to watch this movie with my grandpa every year when I visited him in Mexico. Sadly he passed away, so this movie brings me childhood memories of when he was still alive
I'm sorry for your loss but that is a sweet memory at least 💖
Funny thing: I looked up 'snipe' and it turns it is actually a real thing. To be exact. it's a real species of bird.
Oh my gosh I just looked it up and it made me so happy :)
I remember first seeing the trailer and then the movie in theaters, it was a fun audience cause we all laughed at the funny bits but silent during the emotional bits. It had such a hold on everyone there, and the kids knew what was happening and didn't have to ask their parents any questions. This movie is still easily one of my top 3 Pixar films!
What are the other 2?
@@donovanblackwelder4301 This is my personal top 3, Coco, Up, and then Finding Nemo. Love rewatching these for the storytelling annd visuals.
I never really asked about Russells dad situation. I was always confused, like "Who is Phyllis?" and I think someone told me or it dawned on me that his father and his mom was divorced and Phyllis is his step mom. I may be wrong, but pls tell me if I am.
@Chippy Baiju Oh heck yeah I saw that in theaters with my brother too! I love Hank, great new character!
@@memyselfandi7782 yeah you call your stepdad or stepmom by there name.
"We got dogs flying planes?"
I suppose you could call them, dogfighters?
That's it! You're getting the cone of shame!

Also little fun history story here: I'm not sure if you've heard about Oswald the Lucky Rabbit? He was Walt Disney's very first creation when getting into the cartoon biz; before Mickey Mouse. He partnered with a guy named Charles Mintz from Universal to get some Oswald cartoons off the ground. It worked out for a while, but Mintz eventually ended up basically shanghai-ing Oswald away from Walt, as well as all of his animators. Not cool. Walt moved on to create Mickey and Disney recently managed to reclaim Oswald back as a Disney character, but that's who Charles Muntz in this movie is loosely named after. A real-life Disney villain!
woah!
Wows! Had no idea.
I wish Disney would update Oswald and bring him back to Mickey's current world of cartoons and shorts.
Anyone who’s played Epic Mickey will know this.
Nya, Oswald was not actually the first. He is preceded by Alice and Julius, from the series "Alice in Cartoonland" and the characters from "Laugh-O-Grams." If you are curious this was the very first Disney work:

Rest In Peace Ed Asner, the voice of Carl Fredricksen will be sorely missed. ❤️
@Lorenzo Biscardi why?
The first 10 minutes of this film tells one of the most beautiful, heartbreaking love stories of all time. Pixar never ceases to amaze me.
Some years ago I was so depressed. Unhappy with my life and really angry with myself for not reaching my personal dreams and goals when I was young. A friend invite me to watch a movie with a group of kids. This was the movie. I cried in different parts of the movie. The phrase “Go for more adventures” inspired me a lot. Thank you for reacting to this movie. Greetings from Lima, Peru.
I always cry during this movie. I just love the found family trope! And on that note Meet the Robinsons is another great and rather underrated movie in the same vein.
The scene where he looks at their adventure book and realizing Ellie completed it with the stuff she did with him is still, up to this day, the most emotional scene I have ever seen in any show or movie. Because of it, every time I hear that piano at the first 10 minutes of this film (during rewatch), I tear up very quickly.
10 minutes of masterfully done storytelling in the first act. That's the kind of movie we're in for.
Soul is your next stop
I haven't seen Soul because I don't have Disney+, and I'm not getting it just to see a film that I would rather see in theaters. It will have to wait until I get Disney+ for something I actually want to see on Disney+ (WandaVision, but only when it is close enough to the season finale where I can watch the whole thing in one month of subscription so I don't have to subscribe another month unless I want to).
@@everestcanyon5647 yts.mx👌
I honestly didn't like soul very much.
how did a REACTION made me cry, it’s not even the movie omfg
This movie is unbelievable. I found it interesting that the saddest moment is in the beginning and not the end like Pixar usually does. All in all I rlly rlly rlly love this movie!! It’s a masterpiece hands down! Great reaction dude!! Y’all stay Totally Terrific!!
It's still sad in the fact that Russel was looking for his dad to show up to his badge ceremony and he never showed but luckily Mr Fredrickson came and saved the day by being there for Russel.
this is one of Pixar's best films, period.
Please do ratatouille such a underrated movie
it’s one of my favorite Pixar movies!!
"Such an underrated movie" is such an overrated catchphrase.
Especially when it comes to movies that are not underrated at all and got exactly the recognition they deserved. ;)
Most definitely 😎
And Onward!
@@Quotenwagnerianer agreed
The sequel is called down
What's the plot?
@@artsysabs everything probably goes downhill from this movie😂
Wait. There is a sequel. How is it that i don't know about that
@@seriasmawidjaja545 It’s a joke
"Ellie, I'm gonna take our house to the centre of the earth!!"
As I understand, there was originally a storyline where we found out Muntz had found the Fountain of Youth in Paradise Falls and that explained how he was still alive - but they just couldn't make it work. Also, I've always loved in the first scene with old Carl how they draw attention to where Ellie *should* have been. The sun is shining on her side of the bed; on her side of the table. 💔
For me, it's because Muntz was away from civilization, hence away from pollutants in the air and water
I love that you always keep in the Pixar’s bouncing light intro 😂
It's the kind of that makes you cry and laugh at the same time
Best part of the movie is the dog and russel, they are my favorite characters and I just love them so much ❤️ love your videos btw 💟
You are so kind
Cody: Watch our, buddy! She wants all these kids!
Me: ....
Cody: Woah.... That got dark...
Me: Aaaaand there it is.
Wr feel the moment
Dang it, I cried again 😥😥😥
According to insider sources, Charles Muntz was 23 at the beginning of the movie and Carl was 9. The period between then and their present day is 69 years (nice), thus making Charles 92 and Carl 78.
Cody: looks like it's going to be fun to watch
Me: not at the beginning of the movie
11:25 -
In the beginning of the movie, Charles Muntz was 23 and Carl was 9. Now he's 92 and Carl is 78, making an age gap of 14 years.
This movie is a masterpiece! Cry everytime I watch this. This movie gonna never be old for me🙌🏽
I highly suggest watching "It's a wonderful life" it is an older movie but really beautiful and has a nice message although it's not a cartoon so it's on the realistic side of movies
I'm so happy to know I'm not the only one who bounces their head along with the lamp
i haven’t even clicked play yet but i already know this is gonna be a emotional😭😭
R.I.P. Ed Asner. You were a great actor who played a big role in our childhood and our hearts. You will be missed
It states on the Disney fandom site:
Director Pete Docter himself confirmed that Muntz is 23 years old at the start of the film while Carl is 9. In the present day, Muntz is therefore 92 years old while Carl is 78; an age gap of 14 years.
"How does that work?" You can never question disney/animation logic 😂 Excited to watch this though. Such a cute movie.
This movie made me smile on alot of part of the scene and laugh
FIgure Munz was in his early 30s when Carl was 10. So he's only about 20 years older than Carl. Figure Carl is 65. Munz would be 85 or 90 years old. Certainly not dead if he has good genes and a will to live.
Beginning: Carl was 9, Muntz was early 20s
Rest of the movie: Carl is 78, Muntz is early 90s

Russell’s parents are divorced, that’s why when you hear the name Phyllis it’s his dad’s girlfriend. Phyllis is Russell’s dad’s girlfriend
damn it, this movie never fails to make me cry. Even just watching small clips made me cry.
"THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A SNIPE!!!"
Snipes actually exist though.
This movie makes me both smile & cry. The music, characters...everything about this film is beautiful!❤️

I haven't seen this movie in years, and honestly I forgot how DARK some parts get LOL -- great reaction video Cody, I love how much you get "into" the movies you react to.
The movie in the begining is always sad :(, but still a good movie
This is one of my favorite movies. Heartbreaking and heartwarming. Incredible.
Love your reaction again - your reactions are just a little different and with so much heart that I think your reactions are my favorite because of your enthusiasm and heart! also I love that you reflect the movie at the end a little bit more in your new reactions ^^ it's so beautiful to hear how you relate to that story even personally and it's just such a fun to watch these movies along with you

Rip Ed Asner (1929-2021)😢😔😞
As they're dueling near the end, remember that Carl is a spry 78 while Muntz is a decrepid 98! Carl has the edge!
The beginning is so heart wrenching. Every time I just cry so hard, but the end is so sweet. Btw love the videos been binge watching them for days now I love all these movies and your reactions 😎😍😁
I love this movie, it never gets old and always makes me cry. It’s done beautifully and honestly is just a masterpiece on Pixar’s part.
“Don’t worry about the house” RUSSELS IN THERE- 😭😭😭
This movie at the beginning shows us a cycle that always happens when you get someone you love. That nothing ever lasts. Which gave a hard, powerful and sad message to the subject of loss. This movie will forever have a place in my heart and this might be the movie I watch when I get older.
RIP to Ed Asner 1929-2021 He will be missed! 😢
I watched this movie everyday after kindergarten back in 2010 when i was 6 and had an emotional capacity of a 2 year old but now being able to understand English so much better this hits very hard as I finally understood the meaning of the movie after watching it for the first time since 11 years ago and for that you deserved my subscription.
Yesss it’s here!!!!😆 this is one of my favourite childhood movies!
Up is awesome!! Love the dog and Kevin!
You, my good sir, have earned yourself a subscriber
Even watching the abbreviated version of that opening montage in your reaction made me cry. It never fails.
R.I.P Chris Plummer voice of Charles Muntz

Up is easily one of my favourite Pixar movies behind The Incredibles. Great life lessons, amazing characters and I've of the most emotional openings telling a story without a spoken word. Truly a masterpiece.
This movie and its sound tracks are one of the most emotional.....and one of the best,of pixar's creations
Nothing will be able to replace “up”.....
This movie brings laughter/tears because it presents characters you care about - and those characters evolve along the way. It dares to make you cry 10 minutes into it. A most beautiful movie.
Paradise Falls is based on a real waterfall in Venezuela, even the plane tickets Carl had said "Venezuela". It's very beautiful
I remember watching this movie back in April 2014. This brings back memories.
Yeah the whole cinema was laughing and in tears in unison
The Movie is so Nostalgic and i have always lived the calm music because it made me happy and cheerful. I really miss this movie
I don't think this movie can get any better than this. A perfect story and a perfect ending 😇
Lmao, he said the movie would be fun... it is fun to cry your eyes out after seeing this movie again after all those years
I just love adventures! And I'm jealous, I want to have a collar that can make my dog talk too!
That's why PIXAR is my favorite animation studio of all time of my childhood, and "UP" is one of their best masterpiece of all time.
Jesus this film makes me cry at those parts with Ellie. Always. No matter how many times I watch it.
I found this movie really sad, but I liked it. That little boy looks a bit like my son when he was a Cub Scout 🤣❤️
This movie is wonderful
Geez this movie tho. I don't even need to see that part. All I need is the music and I can visualize their marriage up until her passing and it still makes me cry. And when he was reviewing their photobook I started balling 😭
Hey Cody, have you watched Emperors new Groove, and zootopia? They are quite good movies, you will love them.
This movie is one of my favorites :)
The scene where is is dumping everything out of the house is such a great way to represent him letting go of the weight of the past so he can be present.
This movie is great so glad you decided to react to it :) And soooooo hyped for shrek 😆
Just watching this video I'm crying, such a great film, so powerful
This. Is. My. Childhood! Thank you so much!😍
Yay another childhood I used to watch when I was in my younger younger years wooo! 😁
Edit: why are you so UNDERRATED I just looked the Subs you are so UNDERRATED WHY!?
Yayyy I love this film! It’s so sad and happy at the same time
your reaction was amazing!🥺
even 16 years later it's still amazing 🥰🥰😇
The Disney+ series “Dug Days” just came out today. I watched all 5 episodes so far and I think it’s really good. I think all fans of Up will get a real kick out of it
I think the scene where Carl is looking through the book after he lands his house at paradise falls is just as good as the first 10 minutes. Especially the sentence “thank you for the adventure, go have a new one” is almost as good as “kitty has to go” for me
18:39 Undertaker vs Sting 2035 😂
I really like the picture with the tree in the background
I got it on Amazon ☺️
I knew I shouldn't have watched this review. The first 10 minutes is tough, but when he reads the scrapbook just scrapes my insides out.
My partner almost never cry during a movie but watching up made him BALL OUT 😩❤️ and i’m there being hypersensitive and crying at everything 🤣
Oh wow you have to do Coco😩👌🏻😍
Underrated as no other. Never cried so bad in the middle of the night
3:52 That was pretty much my dad's reaction when my mom insisted that he watch this movie cause she enjoyed it as much as me. He wanted to stop the film right there and not watch further. But she insisted, he persisted, and got through it.
Ten years later art imitated life so eerily since he's still here.... but my mom isn't. Honestly, I think sometimes he feels like Carl does following that; just waiting for the day to end. Or at least I still do. But he and I keep ourselves going because she would want us to live our best lives for her.
Up is a literal masterpiece
