TEA WITH THE DAMES is a unique celebration of the lives and careers of four of our most iconic actresses; Dame Eileen Atkins, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Joan Plowright and Dame Maggie Smith. All four have gone from being fledgling actresses in the 1950s to acting royalty. They’ve watched each other’s careers grow and bloom and have celebrated life’s ups and downs together. TEA WITH THE DAMES invites you to spend time with these acting legends as they talk about their lives and their professional experiences across theatre, television and film.

British cinema of the last 60 years is unthinkable without these ladies.
Not just British cinema.
Don't forget British scriptwriters and producers that write and produce for them. Doesn't happen in any other country in the world to anything like the same extent.
0:27 - "God almighty, leave me alone." Just when I thought I couldn't love Maggie Smith more.
For those suggesting this or that person: these ladies have known each other 40/50 years, you can’t just foist an outsider on a group of friends it would completely change the atmosphere.
Dame Maggie is the eras greatest actress...and possibly the most modest. A genius of comedic timing. AND a great tragedienne. Absolute respect from her peers on that one.
To everyone saying that other Dames should have been involved: this film isn't a random invite of four dames, in fact their being dames has nothing to do with it. They all started acting together in the theatre where their paths crossed often, Joan and Maggie's children grew up together and actually have been friends the longest. They all worked in the National Theatre in its early days. This film is celebrating their friendship and the fact that periodically they all go around to Joan Plowright's house for weekends to catch up. Whilst the likes of Vanessa Redgrave is good friends with all four women, she doesn't partake in this regular meet up event.
Eileen Atkins was incredible in The Crown. The cream of the crop of British talent. Absolute legends the lot of them.
The Crown may have good acting, dressage, lighting and post production, but it's not real, much of it is made up.
They are all superb actresses.
I watched this and it was a delight !! Fun to listen to their iconic stories, their wit and see their friendship. They deserve all the accolades and praise there is. As an American, I didn't always get the references, and sometimes a pronunciation, but that was no matter. How I envy those who saw their performances in plays. At least I have their films to savor. Bravo Ladies !!! xoxo
Hi! Sorry don't wanna be weird but I'd been scouring all over the internet on where to watch "Nothing like a Dame" but I couldn't find any link that's working. All of them unavailable. If it's not much of a bother, can you tell me where did you watch it?
I would LOVE to have tea with these ladies! imagine the stories!
Just to sit there and listen and laugh would be a privilege
America has nothing to compare with these legends
M Skallywagg well not today anyway, talented actors with class and dignity have died out long time ago, gone are the likes of people such as Katherine Hepburn, now we have twats like Jennifer Lawrence and the Kardashians and who knows what else.
America is a hellish pseudo-country.
Betty White tops them all tbf.
Yes but did she do any magical movies with wolves and a snake looking man trying to kill a todler? I didn't think so.
There's just gotta be some jackass in the comment section shitting on America in a video that has nothing to do with America.
Ok distributors.....When is this wonderful presentation coming to the U.S.?
In limited release in the U.S. on September 21, from IFC/Sundance Selects.
they, as a group, or as a single person, are a true TREASURE! God love them all ..
I saw this in the cinema yesterday, it was fantastic.
lucky
Marvellous. Thank you so much for uploading. All of them are... well.... the absolute best at what they do, so seemingly effortlessly. Thank you again and to all those great ladies.
Wow now that is an amazing collection of acting talent. 4 of our great acting Dames
I waited two years for this. This project was first publicly announced in 2016. I never thought it would see the light of day. So it's going to be in cinemas, probably only in the UK. Today is the release date, May 2?
Hi it will be in Australian and NZ cinemas from June 7. Thanks
What about in the US, any time soon ?
Yes, please let us know when it’s coming to the US?!
Sorry. We only handle the release in Australia & New Zealand. Thanks.

On this sad day it seems proper to reminisce Maggie Smith with her owns words and friends.
My mother is DYING to see this. It looks quite entertaining.
They are simply absolutely incomparable! They are awesome 😍
Thay are histori,i know dame judy, but this charming da me maggie,so dame joan too and dame eilin, with respect and love, dearest dames, you are treasure forever.
Descanse En Paz Gran Actriz. Dame Maggie Smith. Vivirá Inmortal en sus Películas. Entrevistas. Extraordinaria Actriz.
Oh hell yes! This is pure cinematic magic. When can I get my hands on this masterpiece?
So Incredible i like the elegance in the old and slowly voice of Joan Plowright, 92 men i remember her when i was a los and saw her in Spiderwick Chronicles
Is this the same programme shown on BBC New Years Eve 2021 called "nothing like a dame"?
Absolutely adore Maggy Smith ❤❤❤
Love The Dames.
OH MY GOD! I want to see that!
Difference between British and Americans is here in Britain ladies hang out for tea and then have some good old times and that's with dignity and class . Well in America you have Beverly house wives so I have no comment .
Well in the UK you have, “The only way is Essex.” Lol You must think very highly of yourself. Your cattiness reminds me of a Beverly hills housewife, so I would give yourself a second look. p.s. I often have tea with my friends in America. To pass judgement on 300 million people because of one show is nonsense. I’m hoping you’re just having a bad day and need to feel superior and you’re not just that ignorant.
You sound so arrogant, that’s what separates girls in the US from girls in the Old World.
Shame you did make a comment then! How shockingly rude and ignorant of you! Please excuse such a foul temperament- she definitely doesn't speak for me! Gee from the UK!
Why the need to make a comparison?
The wife of Sir Lawrence Olivier, Director M, Queen Mary and Minerva McGonagall, drinking tea together.
What more could you ask for???
Found it on DVD at my Barnes and Noble.
I guess it won't be released in Canada. Will it be on DVD or Bluray??
Playing in Kamloops, BC this Thursday, January 24th, 2019
Love these ladies 😍😍😍😍
We want this ....on the NOW! sincerely, USA
LOVE all these talented ladies.
I'm living for this
Got to see this one,

I can’t wait!
Wooow! that will be absolutely amazing to watch!
Great ladies 👍
It' s on Hulu!
GENIUS
I wish they showed this on Dutch television, this is priceles
Absolutely Delightful......if this is a full length film, I'd love to watch it. (Missed Vanessa Redgrave & Emma Thompson, though). Cheers from India!!
Please tell me where I can buy tickets to the next tea ! I will bring the crumpets !
gosh I hope we get to see this in the US
In limited release in the U.S. on September 21, from IFC/Sundance Selects.
OMG i live for this
They just don't come better than these ladies right here.
These ladies are British Treasures. ❤
I laughed and laughed watching these four formidable ladies❤
I have GOT to see this love these ladies
Too bad they missed Dame Diana Rigg and Dame Penelope Keith.
drednm part 2?
And also Dame Julie Andrews and Dame Helen Mirren
And Dame Angela Lansbury
I wish Joan Collins was there.
And Dame Barbara Windsor, just hearing her laugh makes me laugh
4 treasures.
Please, Make a Sequel with Dame Angela Lansbury, Dame Patricia Routledge, Dame Helen Mirren and Dame Emma Thompson
The last two don't belong anywhere near this category.
I don't see Dame Helen , either. Mirren, that is. However, she doesn't strike me as someone that likes to pal around with the girls over a nice cup of tea. Slightly too naughty for that, which is probably why I like her so much.
Well said
Oh these gals are wild. Watch the movie, it's great.
It's because these women have been friends for YEARS and get together annually in the English Countryside to spend the weekend together and gossip. They may not have grown together with Mirren...I doubt it's any shade towards her!
They were just missing Dame Julie Andrews. I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this!
LEGENDS. 😍
Charlotte Rampling is an O.B.E, but when will she receive her damehood?
Young Eileen 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
what a joy!!
The theme for this should really be 'There's Nothing like a Dame' from South Pacific
I live in Victoria, B.C., Canada = PLEASE tell me it’s bent released HERE eventually !! 😢
Showing in Kamloops, BC this coming Thursday, January 24th, 2019
Why wasn't Eileen Aitkins included?
A gay man’s dream.
deldee ce,l
Celebrating Dean Martin Roast
@Kie W he would be one among them and nobody in this world would be mad about it
If you like this, you would enjoy TEA WITH MUSSOLINI.
Joan Plowright, Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Cher & Lily Tomlin directed by Zeffirelli. It's GAYER than Christmas!
They are more beautiful and extravagant than the majesty..
Forget all the orthers (including Meryl), these are the best
Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed this!!!
A great idea. I can just hear all the other actresses saying, what am I, chopped liver?
This was a group of close friends who got together regularly.
Dónde puedo ver esa película o documental?
English: "Ladies and gentlemen..."
Dutch: "Dames en heren..."
Imagine, either they were all Ladies of the county having tea with Lady-dowager Violet Crawley or they were witches talking about transfiguration and Dolores Umbridge at Hogsmead. 😍😍😂😂😆😆
Omg this is too much to handle!
i loved it
This!!!
it would be a shame if they didnt show this in Malaysia
Unglaublich tolle Frauen!
There's a Dame missing.
@Keys & Locks Yes! I don't know why, but there just seems to be a gap.
Amazing gals
💖😍😘
Where is helen mirren?
It seems that the film is a peek into the regular meetings of these 4 actors; not a movie where they can invite others.
Golden Girls (U.K)
The funny girls I love them.
Helen Mirren must have been too busy to make it.
Where’s Dame Anna Wintour?
Love the show, but missing Dame Julie Andrews and Dame Helen Mirren!
good laugh
Looks like fun. But what about Dame Helen Mirren??? (Maybe she's too young for this crowd)
Dame Angela Lansburry, anyone?
I think Judi dench is laughing at Joan's blindness
And in America we are being fed this complete nonsense action movies......on and an.
A Dame is a lady ?
'Dame' is the woman equivalent to 'Knight' in the British chivalry rankings. Lady is something else entirely.
Joan Plowright, not. It's my opinion.
Boring
