- In this video we'll be taking you on an exciting journey from the Berjaya Hotel in Mývatn, heading west to the beautiful town of Akureyri. 🏞️
Our first stop is the stunning Goðafoss Waterfall. 🌊 Known as the "Waterfall of the Gods," Goðafoss is one of Iceland's most famous and picturesque waterfalls. According to legend, when Iceland converted to Christianity in the year 1000, statues of the Norse gods were thrown into the waterfall, symbolizing the end of paganism. Make sure to bring a waterproof camera to capture the majestic views. 📸
Next, we'll head to the Forest Lagoon. 🌳 This hidden gem is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a peaceful escape. The lagoon is a great spot to unwind, so don’t forget to pack your swimsuit and enjoy the warm, soothing waters. 🏊
Finally, we'll arrive in Akureyri, the charming "Capital of North Iceland." 🌸 Akureyri is known for its vibrant cultural scene and beautiful botanical gardens. Spend the evening exploring the local shops, cafes, and museums. 🏪 If you’re visiting during the summer, take advantage of the long daylight hours and enjoy a midnight sun walk around the town. 🌞

It’s crazy Akureyri is the second biggest city in Iceland. It doesn’t feel that big. We also love the heart street lights. I don’t know why other places don’t do stuff like that.
Everywhere really should do the lights it was such a pick me up. We loved the forest lagoon and almost went back at night but we had to see akureyrie. If we had more time we would have went to the botanical gardens but maybe next time in summer would be better. Thanks for watching
