Here's my theory: Remember that in the Cursed Ships video, Glitchtrap joked that he was going to visit William's family. Of course , William didn't take it as a joke, and even if it was, Glitchtrap would probably attack them sooner or later, so better deal with the small fire before it becomes a big one. William went to the Pizzaplex and while I can't tell whether he managed to destroy Glitchtrap, he was able to free Vanessa from his influence. He did it for several reasons. First, Vanessa was innocent and didn't deserve what happened to her. Two, it would put an end to Vanny chasing Gregory. Three, he knew Terrance liked Vanessa. So that's why Vanessa is nicer here. She still maintains her strong and serious personality, but she is nicer and happier because that's her true personality without Glitchtrap influencing her. Also, with her free, she finally was able to confess her feelings to Terrance. So, that's why Vanessa was nicer here and was Terrance's girlfriend. Also, she knows that she has a long way to go to atone her sins, so she is also nicer to Gregory and Evan.
