The 12 grapes is a very real tradition among some populations, I was introduced to it by a friend who freezes 12 grapes per guest and serves them in sangria. You get midnight drinks and eat the now thawing grapes. Frozen grapes became one of my favorite cooling snacks in the summer.
The grapes is a tradition in Mexico. I’ve celebrated a lot of New Years with a friend of mine who is from Mexico and her family has always done the grapes tradition (but in their tradition they have to race each other to see who can eta them fastest)
Wooo hooo part 3! Soph, the character are amazing you need to watch it from episode 1. The earliest seasons are the best. It's also wild seeing the child characters starting off as kids, and by the end they're in their 20's and driving cars in college.
so, the 12 grapes thing isn't under a table, that i have heard. LOL, if you google how they ring in the new year in Spain, you will see where this comes from for Latinos. we also have a similar tradition to what Gaynor was saying with opening the door, but we sweep the bad out. and you pack a suitcase, to have a good year for travel and adventure. quirky little cultural traditions.
I have watched so many of your videos and really love y'all. Food...just watched another Brit that I follow and they we eating Texas BBQ in ?? Bristal ?? UK. Last month they were on vacation in Florida and stated that Spitfire BBQ in Bristal was Great. just thought I'd pass it along as you really enjoyed the Jolly video on BBQ
Instead of using the mouse, if the video is focused, pressing the left arrow key goes the video back 5 seconds. If you press the "J" key it goes back 10 seconds. Much easier. Also, right arrow forwards 5 seconds, "L" key forward 10 seconds. "K" key pauses the video.
never heard of doing it under a table. but in Spain we eat one grape on each chime of the bell at new years. if you get all of them without choking or delay the you get good luck for the whole year
You should watch from the very beginning (Season 1). This is towards the end of their run, when they’re all grown up. Ps- actually this is a compilation of different seasons….
Love the modern family reactions (also, Gaynor, you keep referring to Phil as “Jay”. Noticed it in the previous reactions as well, but its no biggie 😅)
About the gold digging thing. My uncle had a bit of money. He was the well off one in the family. He was a few days away from marrying a girl that was about 15 years younger and people in my family said similar things. Sadly he died a few days before they got married and then she took her own life.
I dont know if all yall are interested but would yall or even yall two be interested in starting tv show/movie reactions? Maybe Making yalls own channel for it? I think Modern family would be a cool show to see yall two react too. I know Movie/show reactions are a whole another realm of reacting and copyright but it would be cool to see! (PS sorry for saying yall like 100 times. My southern self took over lol.)

The grapes thing started in Spain in the very late 1800s, pushed by vine growers who were looking for a way to increase grape sales. It worked!
I'm in the UK and this is on tv all the time but I've never seen it. I'm watching them all now cos these compilations are hilarious 😂😂
It’s airs here in US everyday lol , love watching it . Especially since it’s filmed here in Los Angeles 😂
Watch it, it is really funny.
@@charliefyb wait you mean new seasons? Or old ones but it just replays?

In Portugal we do raisins
Actually, it’s a Spanish tradition adopted by a lot of Latin American countries.
Yeah we did the grape thing when my friend hosted New Year’s Eve. She’s Venezuelan
Apparently they keep wishing for gang violence lol.
@@nullakjg767ur not funny
The eating the grapes thing is a Spanish tradition but I never heard of doing it under the table.

A side note, Shelly Long (Diane from Cheers) plays the original mother in later episodes of the show.
You can see the kids on this show really grew up in the different clips over the 11 years on tv
i could watch these everyday.
The grapes is actually a Colombian tradition 👍🏻, also the first of December there is fireworks 🎇. Pretty nice month .

The episode when they get the mural in the nursery is hysterical!
The first guy shown , Ed O'Neill , was Al Bundy on " Married ,With Children "
I've heard of a thing that you have to eat the fortune out of your fortune cookie before it comes true.
Eating 12 grapes on New Year's Eve is an actual tradition (that comes from Spain). But not under a table or anything. lol
Love these, thank you so much. ❤

This is almost like a modern version of Married with Children.

Never heard of under the table, but eating 12 grapes is very much a cultural thing with Spanish and Latin communities.
One of the best TV shows ever
im from mexico and we eat 12 grapes at New Years but they are resolutions to fulfill in the year, no wishes and we don't do it under a table either.
I wish you guys did a full on tv reaction to the seasons of modern family.
12 grapes of luck - Spanish tradition. One at each Chime at 12. You only do it under the table to hide from the Englishmen.
Love the modern family reactions (also, Gaynor, you keep referring to Phil as “Jay”. Noticed it in the previous reactions as well, but its no biggie 😅)
Jay is the grandpa and Phyllis is his son in law, right?
🥴 I know, I’m so ditzy 😂
I love how you guys pronounce funny, like funnay. 😂.
The grapes is a Latin America tradition , mostly in Catholics or Christian Families.
6:35 that's my favorite 😂

In the latin culture we always eat 12 grapes for new years. Notnunder a table though
Y'all need to change the name of this channel to something that reflects you two.
They lovfather’s calling Phil, Jay. Jay is Claire's and Mitch father. Phil is Claire husband.
will it work with a grape flavored popsicle and a end table in the living room, i also don't have a back door it actually a lot now
