I was getting the DSC, ABS, and brake dash lights, along with the pressure sensor code. I pulled the connector, sprayed some contact cleaner on both sides, and gave the pins a very light scrubbing with a brush. Carefully reseated the connector and all the errors went away! THANK YOU!!!
Thank you! It worked on my Car!! DSC Light is now out, i have done what you have instructed.. My Car has got the 52E1 error and the DSC light is on.. again thank you for this!
Thanks will try this. I think these kinds of problems can happen in a lot of older car electrical systems where the electrical contacts become oxidised/tarnished (maybe dependent on climate too). I think in your case, this must have happened, re-seating the connector basically cleans the contacts.
Hi, I have a BMW Z4 2008. where is that connector on my BMW. Last fall when I stored it for winter no warning light was on, and when I started it this spring it had a DTC and brake warning
I tried it, i did it 3 times, 24 hours later it is still working. Fingers crossed! thanks. The pressure sensor costs a lot and getting at it requires completely removing the master fuse box, yuck! THANKS AGAIN.
Thank you! This worked for me too. There was actually some gunk under the connector which I cleaned up. I may put some dielectric grease on them later.
it doesn't show in the video, but the lever has to be pulled up with a decent amount of force. I had to move it around a little to be able to pull it up.
Worked for me and my 2000 Z3. My car couldn't move without the DSC kicking and the brake pump would start to run constantly. All I did was that little plunger push and pull. I did want to force it open and mine seemed real tight. It's not in a real accessible place on a Z3. Few plunges and a few taps with a screwdriver and it's appears to be normal again. They should just put LUCAS labels on harnesses.
Thanks a lot! Your tip worked for me! Although, in my case, access to the DSC connector isn't so convenient - the DSC is under the brakes reservoir (left-handed 330d). Diagrams in INPA revealed the "Offset pressure brake circuit 1" was firstly stuck at 10 bars, after few "reconnections" offset slowly returned to normal.
try to calibrate steering wheel. that was my ptoblem. just put wheels in neutral then turn the key to contact, then turn steering wheel to the full left then to the full right. then start the car and error is gone. :)
Thank you very much. I replaced the CCV and other items on my BMW 330xi and after putting everything back together, I had the ABS,Yellow, triangle, etc. Yep, putting in neutral and turning the wheels left and right ....made the errors go away in about 5 seconds. Thank you!
Abs and dsc light on. Try pumping the brakes while driving along slowly, the on-board computer needs a certain amount of driving conditions to calculate before it can reset its self , All sensors need to b working .
was doing 80 kmh and I felt a tiny pop as the lights turned on by themselves. tried clicking the bttn nothing when I arrived at home I just saw this opened dthe hood and searched and found this connector deep behind some stuff...so I couldn't do it like shown sadly The lights were on and I fiddled a bit with the connector and it turned off It's fine now I'm surprised honestly
Thank you! This trick worked perfect for me, the light hasn't been back on for the past 3 weeks. Just resit the plug and away it goes (I also cleared the codes with INPA).
many thanks Bro. worked perfectly. mine was showing error with both sensors and clearing the code with computer solved nothing. your tricked worked beautifully
What you did had nothing to do with air bubbles, a stuck sensor or quality of the brake fluid. Most connectors need an application of dielectric grease to keep the contacts from corroding caused by vibration and/or moisture. Any small amount of corrosion is registered as a fault in the system connected to the corroded connection. By removing and replacing the connector you simply cleaned the corrosion off of the bad connection for a while, but, just as it did before, the problem will happen again and again, until you you put dielectric grease on the connections inside that connector to keep vibration and/or moisture from degrading the connection, and causing more corrosion and more problems. Look up “motion-triggered contact insufficiency” and/or “fretting corrosion” on Wikipedia and/or Google for an explanation. Or just look around RUclips for problems caused by bad electrical connections in modern computer-controlled vehicles.
I cleaned my module connection with electrical contact cleaner, blew it dry, reinstalled, and it worked. You are very correct about the corrosion issue with these tiny pins.
first you read the DTC error stored in memory. I had a problem with DSC error + hand brake light. I scaned with INPA and got a code like " Steering angle sensor Signal not plausible ... " I tested the steering sensor and it was reading correctly (left and right side). But the offset was at 5 degrees left. I remembered that i had one coil spring on back suspension broke at the bottom and the rear side of the car was not on straight position. I changed both coil springs and recoded the Steering angle offset with TOOL32 from INPA (i loaded the file dsc_mk60.***). Now, for 2 years i haven't had that error or dsc light on dashboard ! The idea is that the dsc +handbrake light can appear from some other problems, and without a DTC scan you cannot tell from where is the problem. Maybe you don't need to change any parts just a simple recalibration.
Hi, I've got the yellow Dsc light on in the dash ( the dsc only , not the brake warning light ) do you think that your trick's gonna work in my car ? ( it's e60 525i 2004 ) Thank you
Just had this issue with my car today and tried your fix and it has cleared the issue. What is the *actual* fault? A little corrosion on one of the pins perhaps?

Good video, its nice to a see a basic re-seat fix a problem like that, I have few questions 1. I have those same lights but on my 2003 330i it is very intermittent. It re-sets every time I turn off the car sometimes it comes back sometimes it doesn't. But what I don't have is that ABS pump, what else could cause that errors on a car with out the ABS pump? 2. What model Scan tool is that? 3. What model head unit do you have and how do you like it? Thanks
Thanks for the reply, My car is a 6 speed so auto is out. I keep hearing about the wheel sensors being dirty and to clean them. I can check my codes with OBD Fusion but it wont read those specific codes like your snap on can. I do like the Nexus 7 head unit very cool, I have an old D95 DYNAVIN that works well enough but the Bluetooth streaming audio is low compared to a CD, MP3disc or even the radio.
Brake fluid level ok? Nexus dont have radio, streaming or CD but I've got satnav (tomtom) which works good, fast. If I want to add something I just paring my phone. For me it's enough, music, videos for kids and satnav.
Yeah brake fluid is good, what model number is that snap on. Most if not all my music I stream off my phone. It's an older Bluetooth version my new car (2015) doesn't have any of those issues.
It is better to clean all the plugs with contact cleaner spray. I mean the main control unit and both of the pressure sensors contacts. In other cases the brake fluid should be checked if it is older then two years, because if the amount of water raises it is bad for the sensors too. In my case I tried everything but finally I had to change both of the pressure sensors ( got them from the junk yard for some 30€). Now it is fixed!

My 2004 325i has a problem with the DSC button. When I press it, the triangle lights up on the electronic board, but the brake light does not light up with a yellow light. I tried pressing for a long time, but to no avail. Is there a solution to my problem or anyone who encountered this type of problem?
Hello! I had the same lights on, DCS and yellow brake but no check engine light. I tried your trick about disconnecting the black electrical cover. I didn't realize that I had my key ignition turned 'on' when I disconnected the electrical cover! Now I have the DCS, RED brake light and now the 'ABS' yellow is on also :(. Now when I drive it, my speedometer and fuel consumption gauge does not work. Sh!t! I pulled a code now P0500 (speed sensor). My car is 2004 330ci. Do you have any suggestions for me please?
Mirko Belacevic Hello! No I did not fix it yet. I am traveling for work so I can't work on my car for a couple of weeks :(. I hope it is just a wheel speed sensor that is making all these lights come on. I really love this car, I just wish it didn't keep having dash lights grrrr. I turned off traction control and now when I try to turn it off it doesn’t go off and just recent it strayed showing the brake symbol in yellow . Please help!!
Scan it... can be numerous things .. i got the same as you, and today INPA software detected brake sensor number 1 is faulty. This is located on the brake master cylinder. or it could be steering angle sensor, or a wheel speed sensor... use INPA software to find out and save you a fortune. either way with the exception of the steering angle sensor the other sensors are easy to change.

I'm unable to turn dsc on or off must be a fault somewhere also the seat belt light comes on then off when I start the car and stats off even when not wearing the seat belt.
Hold the button down for 15 seconds
Your trick was epic thank you man! Like and subscribe 👍🏻👌🏻

But if i do that can i turn it on from the bottom inside the car anymore? Is that's works ?on and off thank you 🫡

Where is this plug located on LHD cars?
I turned off traction control and now when I try to turn it off it doesn’t go off and just recent it strayed showing the brake symbol in yellow . Please help!!
Scan it... can be numerous things .. i got the same as you, and today INPA software detected brake sensor number 1 is faulty. This is located on the brake master cylinder. or it could be steering angle sensor, or a wheel speed sensor... use INPA software to find out and save you a fortune. either way with the exception of the steering angle sensor the other sensors are easy to change.
