He's one of the most preserved voices in metal. Ofc it doesn't sound identical to 10 years ago but it sounds very clean.

Why do i always see people bringing up Matt's voice, people age, things do stay the same, plus I think they forget that he along with everyone else in the band have to play like 2 hour sets, singing like he does on one song would probably kill most people voices much more like 15 songs in a row. Just be happy we get to hear him sing at all

Wrong, they’ve grown immensely as musicians, and in spite of Shadow’s voice issues, the overall musical skill of the band is leagues away from their earlier days. Syn especially has grown the most.

Is it me, or does it sound like a little bit of Matt's Self Titled/Nightmare voice is creeping back out with his singing? Not just with the nightmare songs.

His voice eeall gang changed that much here it's just the guy is sitting close to the stage in front of the speakers so hes not getting pure sound but it was a great show you can deffinatyl tell a difference between Brooks and the rev and portnoy and arin all have very distinctive styles and brook' s is the closest I've heard to the rev yet but still not the same

Brayden3099 yeah but he said 3 years ago that he purposely changed his voice to avoid having to cancel shows. he'd rather hit notes over rasps like he said.
Its normal when you age and get three surgeries
8 years can do a lot to your voice, look at Metallica with the 8 year span from kill em all to the black album

This song is usually played in c# usually but I think now that Matt can sing high they play in D

Also, playing a song in a lower pitch sometimes could sound worse. Some songs are written to be C#. Playing them lower makes them less good. Take HTTK, I play that in Drop C sometimes (when I'm too lazy to tune up). It doenst sound as epic as C#

+Emiliano Paz it's been tuned down a half step. It's a very minuscule difference but if you really listen you can definitely hear it. It's kinda hard unless you're a musician who pays a lot of attention to that stuff haha.
