Funny story: I listened to this song in 2007 and learned it on piano, then couldn't for the life of me find the track in my library again. I didn't know the name of the song or what album it was on. So I went around playing the guitar verse on piano for five years, making up my own words, and only today did I rediscover the song and solve the mystery.
Ah man, college... fuck. I had every pinback album on an iTunes playlist and would just kinda hit shuffle and go. Made for a surprisingly good playlist for knights of the old republic...
Thanks for posting! I am a huge fan of pinback and thought they may have come out with a new album. I havent come across anything new sinc autumn of the seraphs.
I need the combination to unlock your code I need the combination to unlock your code We need you on set We need you on set now I wish I could decipher your letter We need you on set We need you on set now We're burning daylight it's so far I wish I could decipher your letter Broken bulbs white flashes surround you Smashed plates and glasses haunt you It's a simple (method) that's true (I blame your) sadness on you Guide me, test me, force me through these motions
Seems to be about wanting to quit taking drugs but can't. That's where this song and I crossed paths anyway. I have since given it all up and still get taken back to the spooky room with this tune.
@revalution1965 I've got a studio version of Rousseau on my channel, and I'm sorta out of commission for putting up more songs at the moment. Laptop got fried D:
@oodlezay Hey atleast now you do know of this song, it's one of my favorite Pinback tracks, definitely in the top 5. If you haven't heard Trainer yet, you should check it out. It's on my channel. Give it a few good listens before you decide your likeness of it. I didn't like it at first, but then it grew on me. :D thanks for the comment
Hey brother, first of all thanks for all of the fantastic uploads. I know this comment is ancient but I took your suggestion and checked out Trainor. It didn't even take one full listen to fall in love with, great song. You should check out some Failure, start with Fantastic Planet. Later!
It was tricky and its hard to do it at the 52 exactly its better to listen to it then hit play when its time for beat to starts pause a split second to catch up if needed mine hit around 49 or 50 i think... worth it tho
Crazy that this EP doesn't exist on Spotify.
one of the best bands ever

Pinback is the best band by far.
Yeah, it's sad that not many people know or listen to these songs on this EP.
A song about filmmaking. Definitely can relate.

Pinback is what grunge would have become had it not been turned into a corporate commodity.
Beauty !!
Was it the legendary lyrics? Melting melodies or roaring range? Or the bodacious beat?
haunts you..
Just found this amazing song today. Anyone have any recommendations for others?
Sufjan Stevens, grizzlie bear, fleet foxes, modest mouse, john frusciante. Theres so much great music I could never name it all

@TheQuestionMarkD could you put up rousseau since no one else has, that'd be awesome if you did
You still post? Still like Pinback?
Is there a way I can actually purchase this song?
Album name Too Many Shadows. I got mine on Discog.com
Thank you

Yeah, I'm trying to put up all the albums that no one else has, and then some more.
Are there many other Pinback songs with drums like this? I have heard a few but none with this sound.
Ember Strike I think it's a drum machine. Most of their first album used a drum machine like this.
How We Breathe
There’s a video of the two of them playing Serg and This Train using some shitty Casio keyboard for the drum loop... quality stuff.
do you have the lyrics to this song?
I put it in slow motion because it’s more cooler
