I just wonder how some guys get more views and subscribers while this gentleman has far more awesome car collection than them. I guess this guy is doing it for passion, not for money!
Great Video, Tom! That Park King is a very reasonable cost. As an older guy with serious back issues, being able to work on the car and not having to bend over is terrific! I am assuming you were at Rennsport. What a great event. Lot's of fun.
Awesome collection of Europe's finest!! I myself am from Bosnian descent and lived 8 years in Germany 🇩🇪..... Looking forward to being an long-time subscriber Mr Tom
43" tall car, so basically only $150k+ vehicles. If you had 2 2019 Corvettes, you would be pushing the height limit. 49 + 49 + 6 = 104" Which is 2" taller than your garage. You could probably stack two lowered C5s, and definitely 2 C4s on top of each other. 94 Corvette is 47" tall. 47 + 47 + 6 = 100", which would put you at 8'4". So don't think you are going to stack your Mustangs or Camaros on top of each other in a 8.5' ceiling.
Did you ever consider doing a 'coffered' ceiling, where you cut a boxout in just the dimensions of your vehicle roofline to sit in that recess, it all depends on what's above the garage, i have a 8'6'' ceiling like you with a storage loft above, i have to consult a framing contractor to see how cutting into those ceiling joists without causing a structural issue.
Hi Tom! Great video. I have 2 corvette both are 48.6 height. So with 97.2 plus 6 inches I am at 103.2. Can this still work for me? I have a double space. I plan to just use one side. But carriage doors are needed. If the 103.2 won’t work I thought about building that side up a little where the roof top is. Is a flat ceiling that just goes up to an attic. Can you help letting me know what I can do. Thanks
@@TomsGarage Thank you for responding. Part is 8 and part 8.5. I am thinking of installing horizontal doors as I have wall room. At the very top of my C7 Corvette I just need to cut and remove about 2 inches to work. I am doing that. But you helped me explore more ways to accomplish this. Thank you!
@@TomsGarage Hi Tom! Since I have a really low garage ceiling and it does slope because of no drain in the floor. I am needing to cutting open part of my ceiling to raise the car a bit. But not an issue as it open above as I use for storage. But regardless I can only go so far up because of the garage door. Did you find the carriage doors to be reasonable. I have a large 2 car 8ft door. I found the carriage doors do be extremely expensive. Also I am also looking at a lift and was curious of one you purchased as I again as I limited on space I need every inch. Any help would be appreciated. I have in one spot of my garage about 103 inches and the lowest spot 99. I am seeing if I can just raise the garage doors tracks enough to make it work. No garage door open up on the ceiling would be best. Since I have wall space thought about a door that opens to one side of the wall but they are also about 20K. I am struggling what is my best affordable options are.
Very nice... I am moving to Colorado soon (April 2021) and although I plan on getting a 3 car garage.... I plan on building a Cobra Replica soon ( retirement project) and this would really help. Although we saw a new housing development what had a 3 car garage... but the 3 garage will actually hold 2 cars end to end. Now THAT plus the lift would be a dream come true. And it just might! Found your channel on the Cobra Experience website. I didn't even know it existed and it only 20 minutes from my house. Thanks for the video and info.
Best car lift system I've seen so far.👍 I wonder if you've looked into adding remote-control hydraulic struts? for those swinging doors? I remember someone else had a similar convenience prb and that's how he solved it.
Likely more now but about what I figured.. It would certainly help with our 1st world "problem" here of to many cars:-) Thanks for the prompt reply Tom, I certainly appreciate it!@@TomsGarage
Hopefully you’ve found out in the two years since you made this video, but I guess you are to NEVER leave the wing on a CGT in the up position when it is parked. Apparently the cylinders that hold it up fail a lot when you leave it like that for extended periods of time.
@@TomsGarage awesome 👍. I had never heard that but recently was watching a video and a guy that had one was messaged by one of the few mechanics in the US that work on CGT’s, after constantly seeing him leave it up while out in public. I wonder if other cars are like that? P1’s are left in race mode all the time so people can see it full down suspension, and full up aero. Makes you wonder 🤔.
No need to change the door just the tracks inside the garage to make it lift higher. The garage door will be closed when this modification is made so your HOA will not see a thing
Excellent video! Exactly what I was looking for. Explained everything perfectly. 🤞I will be able to get four cars are into my two car garage! Beautiful cars beautiful garage!❤️
So my friend, you forget in your technical explanation of selling the lift that not all of us have 200,000 cars that are 30 in high. I've been investigating a lift which will not carry my Subaru out back and other similar 5 ft tall car in a 10 ft 5 ceiling without walking on my knees below it. Might want to call your episode tiny garage list for those that have very expensive low cars, as a more accurate description
That my still work for the height is under the other car so you may gain some room where that ramps are on the sides of the top of the car .measure again.
If you are willing to invest lots of your time and put in hard work, you can make a living this too. Most very successful people either commit many years of university or risk all their time and money into starting their own business. Next time you say “it might be nice to have that kind of money”, try adding “and it must be nice to see invest all your free time and busting your hump to there”

Your like my grandpa but with a few million dollars in cars in your garage! Thank you for sharing your collection with us.
It's really amazing how money solves the age old problem of having too many cars.

You and me both!
This was tremendously helpful to me! Thanks Tom for the thought out video took all my guess work out of the equation!
Glad it helped!

Space issues? Plus doors so heavy need open manually. Maybe if doors where made from lighter material.

Thats great for your small low cars, try to stack a 69 Dodge Superbee and a 68 Dodge Charger. Its not going to happen.

Retired. 60 years of hard work.....
What do you like, dislike after a year of using this? Would you recommend for 10' ceiling after owning this a year?
Never had any problems with it. 10ft. Even better.

can u save that same height for next time so u don’t have to worry about hitting the ceiling?
Not automated. Have to make marks where you need to stop.

low cars don't always to be expensive.

Thanks Tom, the lift video is great but the rides in your garage....well you know your rides. anyway thanks for making the video.
4:15 "you need manual doors". Wait a minute! what about remote control door struts? Race you to the patent office!
I couldn't find struts that didn't intrude to much into the door area.
Obviously, you can automate your carriage doors, if you really wanted to.
at the time the Mechanism to operate the Carriage doors was too Intrusive.
Epic collection :)
Ford GT 👍
Man what do you do for a living 😑😒 that ford gt is NICE!!
I vote to just buy a house with a big ass garage !
2:25 wow that's a tight fit

Or you could get roller garage doors.
Yes, It you like the industrial look
I have 8ft ceilings…
Those cars are low to the ground as are all the cars I've seen in these type of videos. I have 2 classic Impalas so I don't think it will work for me.
Nope, not with a 8.5 ft ceiling
i wish i could have a garage, or even land LOL
My ceiling is 9’ but my one car (08 997.1 turbo) is 51.2” & my other car (12 Nissan GTR) is 53.9” - ugh 👎🏼

So confused. More money than god. Build a custom garage for 10 cars
His money. His choice. Maybe he likes the home he's been living in for the past 60 years and zoning wont allow a larger addition to his garage.
