A trick I learned about space stations, the entrance ‘Letter box’ always faces the planet it is orbiting.
When approaching the station while it's targeted it showed you what side you will be arriving in the hologram

I just started playing this on ps4 because of a sale of $9.00. Completely confused but I look forward to learning new things !
Same here. The web site that tells you what system has what price for resources. But seems to not work for ps4. Have seen it off from 1,000 c to 75,000 c
You can click in the R3 and then tilt your controller to look around the inside of the ship and the menues and stuff
If you are trying to open chat on the ps4 its square and up on the D pad. (for anyone that has a goldfish brain like me)

To drop into a station facing the entry point, (letter box) approach the station from the planet side. The station is tidally locked so the space station entry will always face the planet it’s orbiting.
Just began playing this past week... the controls are killing me... it is so difficult to remember what everything does and what I can do with every button...
It's quite overwhelming at first... and I feel I'm not really learning a lot because I spend forever making the same mistakes while just trying to land my ship...
I also seem to have a great knack for flying into stars while I'm traveling at lightspeed or whatever it is...
At the start you should have said, “A beginning is a very delicate time...”

Hi, I am thinking of getting the game for the first time for my PS4 Pro because its £3.99 only and I really wanted a space sim. I was thinking No Man's Sky or Everspace but I think Elite is the way to go. I will mainly play solo and want to explore the galaxy but also wander on foot (with the Horizon update I believe) and I am aware it won't receive any future content updates. Is it worth it?
Think on consoles it's a bit of a dead game now however for 3.99 you could still find 100s of hours content so totally worth it!
This is superb at explaining how simple it can be. How do I go about getting a Docking computer?
You need to find a place that sells it and head over and then fit it. If you look on Google type in elite dangerous components locations. You should find some websites. 😊

@@TheLegendaryCharacterClubTV you won't need much money but you will need to get to where it is.. However with elite money is king is its worth earning some first off
I must have already got a Docking com as it turns out I was able to do this as you shown. If not for you though I wouldnt have a clue about what I'm doing.... I still don't bu I have an idea lol

Do most people play open or solo? I'm sure open is awesome unless it's all kill on sight and you're new
Open can be fun to be fair there are not too many evil people out there but I would say for making money and kinda getting into it solo I found easier

I bought this for PS4 Pro when the Odyssey update was announced. I'm still waiting for that update and it doesn't seem likely it's coming soon, if at all.
Do you think I should go ahead and play the existing (Horizon) content?
Yeah I would. Get to experience the game. To be fair the odyssey update isn't the best so you might as well get some use out of this great game 😁😁
@@the15minutegamer Okay, thanks there's not too much new stuff around right now. I like to experience games mostly blind so didn't really want to look too deep into it, hopefully the tutorial isn't spoiling too much :)
I did play the original on Acorn Electron, so have a general idea what's involved.
@@ZombieATAT it's not changed too much 🤣 they even have the classic music in it. I've spent many an hour on elite..... Its always an adventure. I play off line at first just to avoid people

I don't unfortunately mining is quite complicated it's more finding where you need to mine to make it profitable

you wanna keep it around 7 / 8 seconds at all time until you drop out , if VERY brave 5 seconds but not much lower
