I wish even during the genocide, God stopped Turks from destroying over 2,000 churches and monasteries, and Azerbaijan from destroying 89 churches. I wish we had all the pretty Churches to look at, and to also serve as tombstones for the unburied massacres. It is such a pity. Imagine how much healing, could be in those lands if those churches were at least preserved, if not our lives. Maybe they wouldn't justify genocide and evil, and have pity in their hearts, if they always saw Armenian churches in lands with the absence of their parishes.
I have a doubt. I am Chilean (latin american). In real life I have no complete knowledge of Armenian Apostolic Church, but if I would have it and I discerned that I believe in armenian christianity, what option I have to convert since in Chile there's no any armenian church?
There are non-Armenians in Armenian churches in America. They don't usually try to convert people because they kept getting murdered just for existing as Christians for centuries under Muslim Turkish and Kurdish subjugation. It made them timid, but one is always welcome to a church.
If I am not mistaken I saw a documentary about Arminian churches once and what struck me is that some refer to church as Kisha just like Albanian do. Is this true?
Every one says their church is the first in the world, that was not my question, the question was in Albanian the church is called Kisha, do you Armenians refer to the church as Kisha Cheers
@@lipoja100 in Armenian it is Yekeghets. The Albanian word kishë comes from Latin, yet the Latin word comes from Greek Kishë > Klishe (Old Albanian) > Ecclesia (Latin) > Ekklesia (Ancient Greek). You might refer to Kish, which is a town in Azerbaijan with a Caucasian Albanian (Udi) church. Caucasian Albanians and Balkan Albanians are unrelated as the term "Albania" is foreign (please note that even Scotland used to be called Albany/Albania in the past). You would call yourself "Shqipetar" whereas Caucasian Albanians call themselves "Udi".
Most beautiful ever and oldest churches too
The Armenian Churches are in a class of their own.
