Beautiful. First time I have seen this translated into english.Teaching myself Irish, Is not an easy langauge to learn, I am American and english is my language. I feel when a language dies, so does the culture. Grá mór do mhuintir na hÉireann.
Another beautiful song from a beautiful people with a wonderful language. Truly inspiring and talented. Though I am on the western side of the Atlantic, you make me feel "Irish" inside. The spirit of Brian Boru lives on still. Please keep the great songs and videos coming. This may be a positive stereotype, but it seems like to me that many Irish people are naturally both artistic and musically talented. Please keep one foot in the past and one in the present, so that the whole world can share the beauty of Eire.
Thank you for the lyrics and translation on-screen. I've heard this song so many times, and seen a translation in the comments, but putting them together makes it much easier to appreciate it 😁
@@CelticSongs yeah it was a little shocking at first because normally every time I hear this song women are singing it very rare that men are it's a good change of pace 👍🏻
@@CelticSongs I was born in NE England. Always knew i had Scottish and a little Irish roots from way back. Turns out my Scottish side is Banff and Buchan and the Outer Isles Keep the songs coming!!!👍

It was written about Charles Edward Stuart in the 18th century. Became important song for Irish independence from then on.

All of Europe must keep their traditions, culture, and history alive. Do not allow the left to steal it from
you and give it to others.
