One day I’ll go to one of these… I just am a very quiet person so I don’t feel well around a lot of people but my passion of anime is one of the few things that keeps me living
Went there for the first time this year. Very expensive to fly to LA! Expo was fun but it's very very very exhausting. I spent more time waiting in line than anything else.
You can take pictures with cosplayers, do pictures near anime statues, play crane machines, buy outfits, buy poster art, buy trading cards, buy plushies, buy pins, buy figurines, buy manga, play arcade games, watch dance performances, watch vtuber streams, watch a competitive video game, play a demo game, and eat at food stands/trucks. It is basically a shopping district.

I’m always at AX on Day 1, but usually don’t stick around for the remaining days due to work back home in Southern California. However, what I love most about AX on the first day is their AMV contest. I always attend that because I also participate in them. Been doing so since 2012.
2:03 this guy with the trekking bag is smart. the load is reduced which makes it easier for events like these with lots of walking and ur planning to buy a good amount of stuff with you.
Thanks for filming! This will be my first time going this year and I'm already feeling overwhelmed lol. This makes Sac-Anime feel so small compared to this.
Thanks for the video! I'd love to go to Anime Expo someday, but I've heard about the crowding issues and high prices. Still would love to go for the experience!
I am hoping there’s improvement from the overcrowding from last year. This year will be me and a friend of mine’s first Anime Expo and first time traveling to LA. From the videos I’ve seen last year, it looked like a massive nightmare and I’m claustrophobic asf. Fingers crossed… please let things go smoothly. 😢
@@deedumeday518 It actually did. I just got back from attending day one and honestly, it was pretty great! Checking in with the badges was simple and me and my friend didn’t experience any lines. Also, the convention was even more spacious than we thought. So yeah. No complaints so far. ☺️
don't let your memes become dreams. first thing you hear about the passes being on sell, let it be the first thing you buy, and ofc plane tickets if necessary
Just a bit of a warning to everyone wanting to go to Anime Expo in the future, there has been a recent problem with Anime Expo over selling tickets to their event since last year. I have been going to Anime Expo since 2009 and every year it seemed like Anime Expo was getting a little more recognized and there were a little bit more people, and more recognizable cosplayers attending, however, I have never seen it this overcrowded in my life. The biggest issue was the line to go get your badge because Anime Expo has recently started mailing badges to those that want to attend, and then there's day zero where people can go pick up their badge a day before the con starts. I understand people are from out of town and are attending on the day of or something but that was usually their biggest issue. Now it seems like they're under staff, it's unorganized for cosplay gatherings, no one knows where anything is, and they're overselling tickets.
they sell as much as what the city allows for occupancy limits. They have a permit and approval for this. You are correct that it is not organized. People are not spread to accommodate the limits but, that is not a requirement either.
I went to AX 2022 for the first time and was shocked at how long the lines for anything was. 6+ hours to get badge/inside the venue, 1.5 hours to get a cup of ice coffee, 1 hour pre-lineup to get into panels. Over half of the convention itself was spent in line. Personally, I prefer smaller cons that are around 10k - 30k attendees. Big enough to have fun, but small enough to actually do stuff. AX gets over 250k people every year now.
I appreciate this I never went to an anime expo i did however go to the fitness expo once for the first time at a expo in general it was awesome but next year I’m going to AX no matter what also they need to lower prices and over selling.
They literally have the fire department come and close off the Expo on day one because there's so many people, as well as bringing over voice actors, artists, animators, and original creators over from japan/all over the US, so the prices are fairly justified. There's many, MANY other anime cons that happen that are lower priced and smaller (Anime LA, AX Chibi, Crunchyroll Expo, etc.)
that what im saying. the orginal has alot more clothing? Wtf maybe she is putting on the cosplay? but like she in her underwear in public maybe a bathroom would have be better.
What's so funny in the beginning, is that this person is entering from the EXIT entrance ! Literally entering from a spot you can not re-enter from. Insane how unsecure this event is ! I literally was able to get in with no bag check and they wouldn't even know what stuff I have in my bag lol.
i would love to go to one of these if only it didnt feel like every single one of them was over sold for the amount of space, I was at new york comicon the last few years and its getting worse and worse but this event seemed like it was on a different level.

@@imminentrueage6400 I arrived early around 6. I did see the line grow crazy long but once doors opened at 9 and then the halls close to 10 I think it went pretty fast. They actually were not separated for bag or no bag this time. We all went through the some detector if. No need to take things out of your pocket. If it went off they'd check your bag if it didn't just keep walking, tap your badged and some thing and walked right in. The detector only went off if I had my portable charger with me. Prop check was before the detectors too so I had to go through that as I had props but even that didn't take very long to me. I was going in an out multiple times though. Day 1 I like up until like 12-1 nbut that's cuz I wanted to be outside. I was Vergil with a chair sitting on a corner. But when I tried to go in it was like at most 5 minutes. It was definitely very very crowded though
