It's not about skin tone/pigment/color or whatever term you want to use. It's an attitude problem. Most brothers that I know are physically attracted to their own women first, but get turned off by the attitude that many of them have and how difficult they can be to get along with. I work with "black" women who complain about how masculine and mean spirited many sisters from the USA can be. You will see the stark difference if you visit Latin America and the Caribbean. There are women in those countries who look identical to the sisters over here but have a completely different attitude. They are sweet, feminine, and actually like men. And know how to smile, it's just a different culture.

From a college athlete: what black women fail to address on this topic is acceptance. In college white women go to the games, follow the team, tutor, help and do homework, etc. They accept the sports life early on. I know dudes that were only eligible because their white girlfriend was helping. Black women in college not following the team, they not making themselves available, they not putting in the same work the white women is for the athlete, but after he get the contract then they want him to find a black woman. He just being loyal to the woman he was loyal to him.

The people that said yes on the panel completely dismissed what the brotha was saying when he mentioned that he tried to date withing the community and they rejected him. In my opinion those men would prefer their own over dating outside. But these men are only going to take so much rejection before they decide to outsource their options. All it takes is one woman these men want to pursue outside of the community to say yes. At that point it either works out or it doesn't.
