I can tell this man put a lot of time and effort into this video, I have lived in Utah my whole life and have been here many many times, he really did the park justice.
Yea, but I still can't believe the announcer who said..."Do not extend your hands over your head"...on a roller coaster!??! (Ogden born) Me and a buddy many years ago, rode rock-o-plane for hours! What a blast. Man, I miss Utah, and Lagoon.
If you ever have the chance to ride the Wild Mouse in the rain, by all means do it! It is soooo fast around those corners😂
Man that was scary, it felt like none of the trims were on and we were going to go over the edge.
My sisters and I went on that and it hurt when we turned the corners. We kept slamming into each other.
Id rather roll down a mountain stub my toe with a tooth pic between my toe and nail, walk threw a pond of rattle snakes, then to ride that in the rain😂
I sworn to not do that again because it hurts your stomach like someones kicking your in the stomach

Lagoon is so massive! To think this is just the front half of Lagoon is crazy haha.
My favorite part of lagoon outside of Cannibal was the western town section where they have the log flume, rapids, and alot of western themed shops and buildings
I know, for how large of a park that it is, its very underrated. Pioneer village is definitely awesome, Lagoon has always done a good job theming the rides.

Used to be my home park, love this place to bits. I love that more content creators are getting out to this amazing park. I’m only sad that I moved away right before they started building Primordial.
EDIT: Operations here have always been spectacular, I can remember a wait for any longer than 30 mins, even for Cannibal.

@@j_fizzle yeah I definitely recommend going if you like family parks with solid coasters. Another place to go would be Snowbird if you like to ski and ride obscure attractions.

The moving the train back and forth on Colossus is not to warm up the grease. Its to warm up special "Soft" wheels. The trains contain 96 wheels per train and have a mix of hard and soft wheels. The soft wheels are hard on the outside but have a silicon like substance in the middle that needs to be warmed up or the train won't make it around the course. These wheels were added to always keep Colossus running at the precise speed. Which is about 38 seconds from the top of the lift to the brake run. It will vary when the train gets really warm moving to 35 to 36 seconds and if its raining to 32 seconds. If it goes over 32 seconds the ride is closed but having operated and supervised over this ride for many years I have never seen it over speed and even in a down pour. Its a cool system Lagoon has come up with for Colossus. Sometimes in the cold Fall Weekends it can take up to two hours to warm up a train.
What a beautiful looking amusement park and looks like it could possibly be one of the best family amusement parks in the world, can’t believe how kids flat rides they have and a ton of unique coasters too
It is truly a great park. It has a lot of family rides, but quite a few thrill rides as well. And the level of theming this park has is amazing.
The park is huge. Surprisingly so. With all the shops and unique areas... large number of kid rides, family rides, thrill coasters and even mild coasters. A water park. Animals. And they've been adding new rides every couple of years with a bug one opening next year. And it's OLD. Opened in 1886, so the trees and everything are very grown in making the midway shady and really pretty. Lots of food options from fast food to carnival food to sit down. It is an extremely good park for a great price and not super well known.
This is my home park and boy is it incredible! I've been going for years. I love how it has a carnival like section with the rock o plane, pirate ship swing ride, wild mouse, etc. And pioneer village is a place like no other! Cannibals is insane and it blows me away every time, the sheer amount of power that is has is ridiculous. And Primordial is looking up to be a very well themed dark ride, I can't wait for it to open and to get the chance to ride it.
Now I have to reasons to visit Salt Lake City; one for skiining in the winter time and one for this park in the summer time.

Love lagoon and used to go to it a lot until we stopped when I was 6 and finally had the chance to go last summer and was pretty fun. Almost passed out on cannibal lol
Lagoon is my home park, and I have gone on cannibal 8 times, but most people at my age are terrified of roller coasters

Colossus and Jetstar are traveling coasters, they can be broken down or set up in a single day. There aren't many Schwarzkopfs left.

One of Utah's best secrets. If you're ever near go. It is 100% worth it.
I rode Cannibal, Colossus 10 times, Wicked 3 times, Jet Star 2 2 times, bat, the Carrousel, Terroride, Spider, Wild Mouse, Rollercoaster 4 times, and probably more!! But what’s sad is we were the next people to get on Bombora and they didn’t let us because it was barley sprinkling. I sadly moved a few years ago, But Lagoon is my happy place!! And I live how tie Spider spits at you and the ending where you get kinda whiplashed. And I rode Cannibal for my first time at maybe 10am for my first ride, IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!

once I sat in the front seat of collosus and yelled, “CAN I GET A HUYAH” and the entire coaster yelled back “HUYAH!!” It was awesome

I operate rides in the same area as paratrooper. Paratrooper freakin blows to operate. But operating Cannibal and Samurai are pretty fun
The only time I've been here was when I was scared of all roller coasters, and I now regret not going on any of them.
The original Wild Mouse in the exact same spot as the current one, was so much better. It didn't have breaks after every little hill in the track. You got some good speed, and lots of air on every hill.
What were your thoughts on terror ride? I find that ride to be a pretty solid dark ride. Also what did you think of pioneer village? Its in the back area of the park, and its very well themed, im surprised how many people miss it. It only has two rides, the log flume and river Rapids ride, but the river Rapids ride has tons of awesome theming.
The reason it is so well themed is it is 90% all authentic buildings from the Pioneer Era.
I think what I live about Lagoon is that itbisnt about the biggest or fastest, but every single ride is a solid example of its type. They all have something fun and unique and they're just good all around.

Hi Dan, from the UK. Nice park. Liked the vertical lsm lift, on that coaster. And unusual to see a double row huss top spin ride.
You missed the rapids ride in the back of the park. Went there this year from Washington state it’s a great park and great for families live you can bring your own cooler in too
love lagoon me and my family have season passes and its close to us totally recommend getting a season pass if you love lagoon also in my opinion some of the rides there i rode are terraride,mouse chase and colosses and very soon when i go on the caninball the caninball
We were just at Lagoon in Sunday and there is never a line for colossus like there used to be. I love it.
20:20 I remember years ago me and my little cousin would go on this like 20 times doing this challenge where we had to hold on to the bar without letting go while my mom was riding colossus a bunch because there was no line

Ahh yes "The Bat" 25:04 I have memories riding that. I was 7 at the first try and i was a chicken when I saw it but I decided to ride. did I like? Well... you can read the emoji "😱😨😭" 2 years later I decide again to ride it and did I like it this time? "Yes" I had fun whit that ride.

you need to go its a amazing theme park and if you go this summer you need to go to the water park its awsome
The two dark rides there are both SUPER old school. Especially Dracula's Castle. Terroride is the better of the two, but it's been updated a lot more so it's kinda lost that old-school charm If you're into that kinda thing.
It's a bummer that Jet Star II is closed due to the pandemic... Despite it's size & age, it's EASILY the most intense coaster in the entire park.

I am not a fan of The Bat because I think it's lame. I am used to riding the Mind Eraser at Elitch Gardens in Colorado and so I like my hanging coasters with inversions.
I love the Cannibal and while I think that piece of track where it looks like it's gonna barrel roll but rolls back the same way is genius, it hurts the thighs.
Yes!!! It kills my thighs! I don't know why more people don't mention that!? It's a great coaster, but that slow creep through the barrel hurts!
The slow roll is uncomfortable. Mind Eraser is a brilliant coaster. The Bat isn't bad... it's what I like to call a starter coaster.
Worked as a ride op in 1989. Tilt-A-Whirl. I think i had more fun then the kids riding my ride.
Have you ever done a park review on Knoebels Grove in Elysburg, Pennsylvania? I see you've done Hershey Park. If you have done Knoebels in a video, might I suggest that? Also, if you have, I'd like to see that video.
I know the Wild Mouse is the predecessor to the Spider or Crazy Rat they named the sequel to the wild mouse it's much much better and smoother too, check this ride out it's just North of it and there is a giant SPIDER at the entrance.

I rode that wood coaster back in the 90s and all that wood was painted White. They must have rebuilt it.
We used to call it "The White Roller Coaster" - though I think the official name was always just "Roller Coaster"
To keep on Maintenance they have to replace the wood beams. They stopped painting it.
You ever run into any coasters not allowing single riders?
The Jet Star does not allow single riders. Also, on Roller Coaster and Colossus you're not allowed to ride a single rider in the very front rows or very back rows.
@@mistybenjamin9009 on Roller Coaster there was absolutely no one in line when I was there and I was still told I couldn't ride in the front row by myself. The rules are weird, but damn it they sure do enforce em.

Too many small coasters here. Admission is expensive. I don't get all that themeing for a mediocre ride like the Spider. A small spinning coaster. The park is lacking another big coaster. Wicked is ok... The launch, drop and inline twist is good but after that, nothing special. It's basically a much smaller version of Cannibal.
Jet Star II is RIDICULOUSLY intense for a "small coaster", and crazy fun. Colossus (the other Schwarzkopf) is also kickass, and not exactly "small" (short? Yes. Small? Rofl, hell no). And Roller Coaster is one of the most historically significant coasters west of the Mississippi. And nobody ever pays list price... Tickets are $50 at all local Costcos. Don't blame the park that you didn't do even the barest minimum of research before you went. -_-
Also Spider is great. Arguably the best riding spinning coaster of its type. All the other models of that exact same ride are SIGNIFICANTLY worse.

Have you ever even been dude? Lagoon is great. And I don't get why on earth you would criticize a park putting extra effort in for theming, and spider is surprisingly fun. There really aren't very many little coasters here, 7 out of 10 of the coasters here are actually pretty thrilling.
This is a great park and the roller coasters are surprisingly great. Not to mention that it is the only amusement park within hundreds of miles. I use to live in the D.C. area where we had Kings Dominion, Six Flags, Bush Garden and Hershey Park all within driving distance. Lagoon is really it for Utah, Wyoming and Idaho.
I don’t like lagoon at all. I think it is way overpriced for the quality of ride you get.Disney parks are so much better that lagoon isn’t even in the same stratosphere.
Have you ever been to another amusement park other than lagoon or Disney? Sorry, but it annoys the crap out of me when people always compare lagoon to Disney. Compared to other amusment parks, lagoon is actually really great. And of course its not Disney level, but Disney doesn't offer tanywhere near the level of thrill rides lagoon has
@@mrknowhere6457 Plus Disney Land is horribly over crowded and overrated. The rides there are pretty much all kiddie rides meant for babies. Too many people, over priced, and in my opinion lame. Lagoon has character, isn't trying to be anyone else, and has some real thrilling rides. Unfortunately they have upped their prices, which I personally think is ridiculous, but I get a discount through my college, so I am not too upset.
