You guys are wonderful! I took my nationality more than 20years ago, and there were no tests( thank goodness! I may gave failed) but I did have interview with police and 2 spaniards had to vouch for me. I am so proud to be spanish! Welcome to spanishdom:). Keep up the great videos.
he looks , so old oh my god, compared to her.
@@monicakristine8206 I thought exactly the same thing, women really settle for men double there age for money, not saying she did it for money, but the age gap is crazy, good video though.
deleted mine as well, smh, this is the RUclips culture, I hate, if they dont like it , they delete it. fake
@@jerryholland3127 CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, When people go to other peoples countries be nice, dont try and put their country down, or paint it in a negative light to get views, I watch people go to latin america and africa, and they will specifically show you the worst parts, and block out the good parts.
@@denzolondon2655 It dont matter, he is rich, and all Spain has to offer is "cheap wine" as he said about a thousand times. He dose not sound like he likes spain.
James, your videos are a constant proof of your love for Spain. You deserve to be Spanish more than many Spanish that gets nationality just because they were born here.
Guys accidentally saw your channel. The video is super! We also live in Spain, which is a wonderful country. watching your videos with pleasure. We are glad to meet you. Happy New Year!
The very best thing about this vid is to see the "expensive wines pusher" named James Blick, finally admitting on camera a 0.85€ PER LITRE Spanish wine is actually "good"... ;P
Merry Christmas, guys!
P.S. Calimotxo is an underappreciated art...
Very timely video, James and Yoly! My wife is planning to apply for citizenship next year. You should make a video detailing the entire process you went through, James. That would be super helpful! Feliz Navidad, guys!🎄🍷
Awesome! I'm glad it helped. I'm not actually a citizen so haven't been through the process yet. But perhaps I can make a video about what it looks like
@@spainrevealed That would be super, James! Sending our regards to all of you from San Sebastián. Advance Happy new year!🎉
@@spainrevealed Would be super interesting. I'm living here now and have heard that I might have to give up my Kiwi citizenship to get the Spanish one!
Sara why would you want to give up your kiwi citizenship...you can never be Spanish can you really...cuenca
Im Swedish and I guessed all right. And important in car garage NOT to wash cars because toxic waste and dirt clogs the system. It is recommended for environmental reasons to wash the car at a service station where they have proper installments to take care of the waste water
Installations, not installments.
It's also so we don't waste water, because many regions suffer droughts. And to prevent the public risk of people slipping or getting soaked when the walk by.
In Puerto Rico they wash cars on the streets, so all that toxic material ends up in the storm drains, which then goes into the ocean. 😖
So much fun to watch and play along with this video. I think it is also helpful and informative especially for the people who are trying to get the citizenship. Kudos guys and keep up the good work! More videos to come :)
A test monitor is an invigilator. I LOVE that word! Love the vid too! 🎊🎉🥳
Seriously, is "invigilator" Castellano, Galician, or Catalan.? My first language is Castellano and have never heard or seen it written anywhere.
@@juanasenjo6627 sorry if I misled - it’s English. :)
I was thinking more along the lines of proctor for someone who monitors an exam. I got the feeling James was asking about the English term for an exam monitor although apparently it's the same term in Espanol probably because it derives from Latin in both languages.
Love the video! We're hoping to get citizenship in Spain one day! Luckily, Mike knew the geography questions thanks to teaching 6th grade Spanish geography here! Within a month of living here he knew 22 rivers in Spain🤣 Felices fiestas, James y Yoly🎄🍷
haha yes, here in Spain we love learning the rivers!
You CAN buy the official study book
This is one of my favorite videos you have made. I so enjoyed this!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. We had lots of fun making it!
Haha happy Christmas guys!!!! Great idea!!!! Some of those are pretty tricky after a few glasses of wine! ..Maybe one day I might try to be a Spanish citizen...but after all this wine I will just be Zen!!😉😄 Have a great time and a hug to dear little Lucia! Such a cutie!!!!
I had my nationality in 1999. We did not have the test then. Both Lola Flores and Montserrat Caballe did not pay their taxes. Lola famously said that if each Spaniard paid 1 peseta towards her taxes, her debt with hacienda would be paid. I had a cat called hacienda (long story)
I’m so glad you made this video. I live in the US and I have my Spanish nationality but I’m looking to get my citizenship in the next few years because I dream of moving there to be closer to my friends and family. This was great practice. Viva España 🇪🇸
Fascinating! Thank you. Amazingly, I got 17 right and no-one is more surprised than me. People who run exams are called invigilators 😎😂. And the new mics are great; loving the new tone and the stereo of your voices. Feliz Navidad mis amigos. Besos.
Glad you like the new kit Paul. And that you're practically Spanish!
That was fun and informative! But to be fair, even though I have been watching you for two years, I got over 60% correct, too. My wife had to take the citizen test for the US and it was similarly easy.
I got my Citizenship in November.. the test from Cervantes was easy. Did it Madrid
I heard that in order to become a Spanish citizen, among other conditions, one has to surrender one's previous citizenship, is that right.? Spain does not allow for dual citizenship.?
@@juanasenjo6627 Yes, Spain allows dual citizenship, but it depends on the country. For example, nationals from many countries in South America can keep their original citizenship and get the Spanish one.
@@juanasenjo6627 that's correct. They only allow it for France and some Latin countries
@@juanasenjo6627 im British and know brits who just applied for another UK passport, no problem.
How long did it take? I'm hearing from some that it took 2 yrs and money to travel to Madrid and pay a gestor to help apply, too. I wanted to try particularly cos of Brexit , but was put off by what I heard. I'm married to a Spaniard (16ys) and lived here 21 yrs. Thanks For any advice
Great fun to watch. Did not know that Chao has caught on in Spain.
Bueno, felices Pascuas y un 2022 de muchas más alegrías y salud.
Un abrazo.
Great fun video. Look after Yoly she exudes every thing that is so good about Spainish people dhe is avery special lady.Keep up with videos they are always entertaining.Brian.From Andalusia .
Feliz Navidad! Have a great 1st Christmas with your little one! 😘💕🍷🎄
I am still laughing from that last question. Too funny! Thank you both for all your great videos this year and all the best for 2022.
Thanks Andrea±
Thanks for the entertaining video, think my partner and I passed the test using luck and general knowledge picked up over the years lol 😂 enjoy your first Christmas with Lucia 🎄🎉
Lucía thought that the video was getting a bit long! 😄 She's precious. Very interesting video, guys. ¡Feliz Navidad, chicos! 🎄
Cute video, guys. We are moving there in a couple of weeks. Still lots of logistics to do! Hope to meet you some day.
Gracias Yoli y James, Un video muy divertido. Aprobe con 22!! Me gusto la referencia de Lola Flores. Me dio recuerdo de verla en concierto en el Parque de Atracciones en los 1980s! Felices Fiestas!!
I studied for this, just in case, specially those strange questions about monarchy that coming from a republic I didn't know. I'm expecting my citizenship any moment! Love to you 3
A very merry Christmas to you three and a pro spores new year .
I got 98% of the answers correct after been living in Madrid for 12 years cheers
Yaayy, James! Your 10 years living in Spain really paid off, and your innate intelligence shined through. Muchas felicidades!
Feliz navidad, keep the new videos rolling, can wait to see the one million subscribers.
Hi James and Yoly:) Thanks a lot for the very nice and entertaining video! I never doubted James to be a true Spaniard!:)
I'm glad you haven't lost the faith Volodymyr! Merry Christmas!
When I heard the Tortilla question I was genuinely scared the instituto Cervantes was going to get involved in the whole onion debacle
I hope its only a debate
Please show more of this test, it's really fun and you learn something out of it
The channel can continue. Well done, Feliz Navidad
I did very well, myself, and I haven’t even visited Spain yet! RUclips (& James and Yoli) is so educational. I’m ready to move!
Great fun video, merry Christmas
Feliz Navidad!! Good video, and I am sure that someone has said it (didn’t read through all the comments) but the word is proctor.
That was hilarious. I should have opened a bottle to watch it!!!!
haha definitely better with wine
I am sorry for your pain of having to take the test. I am a US citizen but I was able to get Spanish Citizenship by virtue of the Ley de Memoria Histórica.....which is now expired. I did not have to take the test. It cost me $35.00 and a trip to NYC to go the Consulato General de España. After my citizenship interview, which was conducted in Spanish, I left the Consulate office, shaken, and took the elevator to the lobby. And then it hit me that I had actually attained Spanish Citizenship that day. I cried for 5 minutes in that lobby. It was truly one of the proudest days of my life.
Felices fiestas, James, Yoly, and Lucía. PD: my wines from the wine tasting arrived last week. So far, the Vermouth is a huge success!
Congrats on being a Spanish citizen! Welcome to the club! Can I ask what drived you to be a Spanish citizen? Why did you want citizenship?
@@ikad5229 Thank you very much. My maternal grandparents were born in Spain and that is why I qualified for the Ley de Memoria Histórica. Thank goodness my Spanish friends altered me to its existence because of course it has now expired. Before the pandemic I would go to Spain for vacation at least 2 times each year. My hope is that when I retire, I would get a place there and with the citizenship, life would be much easier.
@@josephpusateri440 Those are some good friends. I hope you enjoy your retirement here! Come visit us as soon as you can, a Spaniard is not those who are born in Spain but those who love, respect and promote the country!
Congrats Joseph! me ha emocionado leer tu comentario
@@pablopablo1298 Gracias Pablo. Y ahora tengo muchas ganas de volver a España. Fijate, no he estado desde septiembre, 2019 antes de la pandemia.
I love your videos about Spain and your living experiences. Thank you for sharing, but Please please please do a video about family life and what it's like to raise a baby in Spain. I'm a mother to a 2 year old and we are wanting to have more kids in the future. I would love to know more about what it's like to raise a family in Spain.
One of the best places in the world if you have regular income. Fantastic healthcare, more affordable childcare than in many other countries, kids have loads of friends and it's a very family oriented place! It obvs depends on what part of Spain but kids are less isolated than in many other countries
Another great 👍 video with family very educational Steve from Boston MA 🇺🇸 USA
Hola, Feliz Navida to all. Hugs and kisses to Lucia.
This was hilarious 😂 omg I am heading to Madrid the end of the month and am going to buy that wine you drank. The good one lol
The Spanish passport is on the TOP 3 worldwide in terms of power (countries you can travel to visa free)
I took the mock trial online and I passed.I guess my obsession with Spain and knowledge helped me.
I think I passed the test too! Bring on the wine! ¡Feliz Navidad!
LOL, I loved this video - very entertaining :) Congrats James, now more Wine!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The CCSE test is easier than the DELE 2. I took both in 2019. I applied for citizenship through the Sephardic citizenship. We have had to jump through so many hoops and still do not know where it is going. UGH
It's a nightmare. Was easier 10 yrs ago apparantly
Con ayuda del oráculo del vino Tinto peleón siempre se acierta. Lo malo es no tener suficiente pulso para rellenar la casilla.
This was so much fun. I took it along with you. I haven't lived in Spain, in fact, I have never been to Spain, but I, too, am Spanish?! How could they be so easy?
Impossible
Haha yes not very hard! Happy that you’re Spanish too!!
Fun video! The person who oversees people taking exams is a Proctor. Happy Christmas y'all!
Related to the word "proctologist," which may not be coincidental when referring to people over your shoulder watching you take a test.
Felices fiestas!
White in tetrabrick should not be underestimated, since it is a really cheap option for a very decent cooking wine. When I was living in the UK, I could not find anything so convinient, only 3€ bottles from East Europe, and they were way worse then the Mercadona Tinto.
In Italy they do eat lentils as a special dish on December 31st. Merry Christmas to you.
Merry Christmas! Feliz Navidad!
I really like James's shirt. Both looking good, no need for any New Year's resolutions ;)
Merry Xmas to you and all the family xxxx Rob n Sandra from scotland.
Feliz Navidad! James, the word you were looking for is proctor.
Wow, I got 20 right and I’m not even studying Spanish or Spain in general! 🏴🇪🇸
Well done James!
I a surprised how many I managed to get right too!
I have been living in Spain for three years. How long do you have to wait to become a citizen? 12years?
Depends on where you are from. For many people, it's 10 years.
I can’t wait to take that test someday
That was very cool! Thank you!! I’m a Spanish teacher in high school in Canada 🇨🇦!! But of Portuguese ancestry
should i go to spain as a tourist?? i have a flight for tuesday and would like to know if it is convenient to go now because of the covid situation.
Congrats, James! You did well :o)
Feliz navidad!🎄
As with all these tests the questions are absurdly easy, for the most part.
Felices Fiestas
this video is absolutely amazing
Awww the baby is adorable. So cute bless him 😍😍
Interesting video, chicos.
Thank god you mentioned your baby was there making the noises. I was watching this video with headphones and I was starting to think I had a baby ghost in my house. 😆
¡Feliz Navidad!
Love your chemistry. Creo que soy espanol ahora.
I got all right apart from the blood alcohol level (but I don't drive) and dithered over the population one.
p.s. I remember Lola Flores being taken to court for tax evasion as well!
And pantoja 🤣
Thanks for the video
I will rewatch this again, and again, and again.
What is the legal age to marry in Spain?
16 :)
You've both given me a laugh. Happy CVhristmas
Seen this guy dude the other day super nice person
Question # 26: which language are you teaching Lucia as a first language at home.? Is it Spanish, English, or any other.?
I speak English, Yoly speaks Spanish, Yoly and James speak English in front of her :)
@@spainrevealed en la calle y en el colegio va a aprender español. Habéis elegido un buen camino.
hi. is there also an english version to take for spanish nationality?
Congrats on passing the citizenship test without studying. Merry Christmas!
That was wonderful. I was taking wine gulps for the ones I got right and the ones I got wrong! HA! Needless to say, I feel good nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah na🎶🎶🎶
Interested to do this test. I think I have quite good knowledge of Spain, so if I fail I will not be happy! Will report back after watching. *23 out of 25. All knowledge gained through Spain Revealed videos, of course ;-)*
Impressive!
Oye paisana Súper guay el vídeo eh. Venga felicidades y a darle caña al giri lol. Saludillos peñita desde el otro lado del charko. Hala! JC/Miami
Great video. !!
Good fun……..Feliz Navidad!
I love your content, and I always like and comment because I know it's essential. Still, unfortunately, I will no longer comment in your videos because I’ve been getting xenophobic replies! This is the internet: Cowards hide behind a fake name and become very “brave.” Keep on the excellent work, be sure I'll be following up on all your content! Lots of love from somewhere in the world! 🥶😍
Is proctor the word you were looking for person who watches over and exam?
Invigilator, but it appears proctor is used as well
8:40 how does the double surname work? If they later get married which name do they carry ?
Women’s surnames are for life, the same as men’s 🤗 Also after marriage, we keep them as they have always been
¿What is the first city founded by the roman republic outside italy?
Okay this is not necessarily related to this particular video but I seen one of your videos on white asparagus, and today's the first time in my life I've seen one at a grocery store. And I laughed my ass off. I've never heard of or seen white asparagus until I seen your show and then of course now I see them at a grocery store. Thank you for helping me to entertain my life,. If that makes sense LOL🌝🌱
White asparagus is hugely popular in Germany.
It was not until the second time I lived in Spain that I discovered white asparagus up north. Honestly I think I would’ve never known about them if it wasn’t for the fact that I’m pescatarian (I was not pescatarian the first time I went). I was at a restaurant with some classmates and I was so tired of merluza as an alternative to meat that I picked the salad instead. I was not expecting the white asparagus and didn’t even know what I was eating until my professor said “oh you got a delicacy there” and explained what it was. Now I occasionally splurge on some in the US.
I hope you bought them! :)
Hey, in Italy they do eat lentils in new years eve!
”Note, in the actual test, you are not actually served wine!” Thank goodness, I was a little choched at first haha
Enjoyed your video
Good stuff… Bad stuff..
So funny!! 🤣🤣🤣
Your video reminded me of a bet that I had with an ex-boyfriend that if I win, he would have to kiss me but if I lost, I would have to kiss him. Either way, there would be kisses !!! Having wine, whether you got answers right or wrong is a win-win in my book. This video has put into focus the fact that I need to start studying for the Spanish citizenship exam already. I got some questions right playing along with you, but if this had been the real test, I would have failed. I am not letting that happen when the real test is given. Feliz Navidad to the 3 of you and may the upcoming year have more of your awesome videos on your channel, which should be more accessible now that you had your vehicle delivered.
Buena suerte, Mis. Gina.!
Get studying Gina!!! I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours :)
Invigilator (celadora in Spanish) - Meaning in English ... a person whose job is to watch people taking an exam in order to check that they do not cheat
Proctor in English.
I thought it was more difficult, with rough questions about monarchy, "separacion de poderes" and all that stuff.
The questions in the video were asked in English, but I assume the actual test is only given in the Spanish language? Or can you take it in other languages as well?
Spanish . We must do a language exam, also
Great video! So, is the actual test offered in English?
