Mana from heaven people, I'm used to dismantling my Penns but the VI 7500s I have I haven't had any issues with til now. Been hammering them in the surf here in NZ. They've taken a beating and probably full of sand, the one I'm working on got some line wrapped around the center pin (they're a bit prone to this I think) especially when I'm beaching a fish in a hi wind environment where line gets blown off the spool (maybe) as I move between rod and fish once it's landed (there will be slack to stop tip loading). Anyway the center pin isn't moving now and probably needs a new gear somewhere. I'm a monkey see monkey do kind of bloke and this stuff here is priceless. Thanks for posting, lifelong fan now.
I've done every single step up until he removes the rotor assembly and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it off! I've tried everything! there's no wiggle or anything so I cannot identify what it's stuck on. anyone have any advice?
