I'm so glad this is a tutorial of how to make the BEST of your natural hair and not cover it up. People who say natural hair is unprofessional are dead wrong; it's gorgeous, sophisticated, and powerful. It takes a courageous woman to be that gorgeous!

I really like this video. I went to a black hair salon and was told by the stylist that while young and jobless I could get away with my fro, but that I'd have to relax it (like the ladies sitting next to me in the salon) when I got a job. I've been especially determined since then not to get forced into that.
+FaerieBlanc that's really unfortunate and I'm sorry someone actually said that to you. Thankfully it didn't deter you. There are many ways to make natural hair polished and work appropriate. Who knows you might find yourself holding the torch and enlightening non believers. Some people unfortunately just don't know any other way but that's changing😊

You are sooo pretty and I loved style #2. I have long hair and use a black scrunchie for my buns. Not too tight. I'm approximately 2 years natural and keep getting trim to cut away the perm so no big chop. I'm glad I found your channel.

any hairstyle I do on my natural hair is good enough for an interview.
That's cool. I find that whenever I'm doing anything outside my ordinary (wedding, interview, date, any outing) I think a little more about my hair to make sure it coordinates nicely with the look I'm going for. The video shares four simply options done on natural hair so guess I'd agree with your statement
+missT1806 I loved your hairstyles, it just bothers me that we as black women have to conform our hair so we don't make people feel uncomfortable. I didn't mean any disrespect.
I didn't assume any disrespect by your comment. That is how you felt and you are entitled so no hard feelings there😊. I would however disagree that I am "conforming our hair so we don't make people uncomfortable". Even when my hair was relaxed I made sure it look presentable up to my standards before I went to an interview, wedding, date etc. I think the difference is when we start changing our appearances to meet other people's standards instead of ours. For me making sure my hair is sleeked and polished has less to do with the recruiter's discomfort and more to do with my standards and how I choose to represent myself. Of course everyone's journey is different and the approach might be different but if I focused too much on "them" it becomes overwhelming and irritating so I focus on me 😊. Truth is there are many who feel exactly like you and I am happy you commented because it hopefully allows for a healthy discussion of varying viewpoints. Hope you too do not find offense in my response as it is definitely not personal and I very much welcome your interaction with me.
