ECU Misfire? How to program into a used ECU when they are locked? OEM Tools cannot program used ECU's because the OEM software requires a blank or matching VIN to be able to proceed. There are advanced ways to be able to bypass that and use special tools to perform this task without that requirement.
In this video, we have a Hyundai MEDG17.9.8 with a bad driver, and we will go through step by step from opening ECU cover, to reading Data using Flex programmer, to writing and closing ECU. This saves customers lots of $$$ and more importantly save the environment by reusing parts that otherwise would be thrown away.

I’ve seen another video arguing against the use of heat to remove the cover. They suggested the use of brake and clutch cleaning spray to weaken the sealant.

You did all the careful opening and cleaning, Put a nice sealant on it to close it, which is good work, but you did nothing for the most important part. You did not add new thermal grease/thermal adhesive for where the pcb connects to the case for its heatsinking.

Hi thanks for sharing such a informative video
What about removing the circuit board from the back cover can you make a video on it please
Some ecu's require to remove the circuit board for eeprom etc

Can I clone a lap3 or lozic ecu like this? I have the ability to get the necessary tools as a gift so I'd like to invest the time necessary to learn how to use the tools since it's not costing me anything but time and effort.

Also, there are various people reselling their ecu's that are vin locked. how can I reprogram the vin to work with my car if I buy an ecu that is vin locked?

Kia/Hyundia does not allow reprogram when VIN not matching. We are able to modify VIN for most ECUs. Email info@vepro.ca for further details on specific cases
