Arizona Arrowhead Hunting: My Nicest Point Ever (So Far)…

  • Опубликовано: 16 окт 2024
  • I went out hiking by myself Saturday morning and found a few arrowheads and one deer shed. Tia met up with me in the afternoon to go look for some arrowheads, and we went and hiked some new areas. She found more points than I did, and most of hers were on the way back to the truck. On Sunday I went out for a few hours then Tia met up with me and I ended up finding my nicest archaic pieces ever (so far).
    Thanks for watching.

      In the same places, it’s getting harder, as there are X amount of potential arrowheads on a site. The rains and winds wash new points to the surface, but there are always a limited number of points at one spot. It’s not like antlers where they replenish every year.

    Question for you I found an arrowhead sometime back along the mogollon rim. smaller than a dime in the shape of a triangle. When I showed it to somebody they said it was a bird arrow. I know without you seeing it that would be a hard question to answer but are small triangle arrowheads used for hunting birds?

    • @RogueOutdoorsmen
      @RogueOutdoorsmen  3 года назад +1

      They mean a “bird point” or small game point. The Paleo points are usually bigger, think spear tips for killing mammoth and bison. The later Archaic points got smaller as the game animals changed and they weren’t hunting bigger animals and traveling as much.
