Today’s episode is about the Fingerprint scanner. You can also call this a biometric scanner or finger print reader or fingerprint sensor. In this episode, we will be covering the extreme basics before we use this fingerprint module in some complex projects. In my upcoming tutorial, I will use this fingerprint module in a wireless student’s attendance system; I will also be using this fingerprint module in the biometric access control system and much more. Today’s episode will cover.
1. Fingerprint module interfacing with Arduino
2. How to enroll a finger.
3. And how to control an led.
Let’s get started.
The components that we will be needing for this project are
1. Fingerprint Module
2. Arduino Uno and finally
3. Jumper wires.
These components can be purchase from Amazon, the components purchase links are given in the description.
This is the fingerprint module that we will be using today. It has a total of six wires, while some fingerprint modules have 4 wires, but their use is exactly the same. As you can this module has six wires, but we will be using only 4 wires, Red, green, white, and black.
Let’s fix the fingerprint module and Arduino on a board using hot glue…..as you can see I have also soldered male headers with these wires. The red wire is the VCC, I have also soldered a female jumper wire later will connect this wire with the radio transmitter to supply 5v. With the help of these male headers now we can easily interface this with the Arduino.
We don’t need the yellow and blue wires….. connect the red wire with the Arduino’s 5v….connect the black wire of the fingerprint module with the Arduino’s ground….connect the green wire with pin 4 ….and connect the white wire with pin5… so now our interfacing is completed… now it’s time to enroll fingers…I will enroll these three fingers…

Im getting a Did not find fingerprint sensor even though i have everything plugged in right

you get this type of error when you do the wrong wiring, if your wiring is good, then there may be some problem with your fingerprint module.

my dear remember, before you do the soldering, first check your project on the Breadboard. Once you are satisfied then you can do the soldering.
