So live in care you are there 24 hours of the day, 7 days a week for x amount of time (could be a week or so). I know it seems daunting at first but it really isnt. You get your 2-3 hour breaks a day and you have time to sleep. Most companies allow 2 disturbances a night incase the person you're caring for needs anything, if its anything more then you'd need to take that back to the company. During the day, it's mostly making sure they are okay, have everything they need. I'm sure you will love it
Hii, i have been selected for a live-in carer but i dont have experience i'm bit nervous being a vegetarian. And i have one more question my contract is for 40 hours so rest of time of the week can i stay with my family
Hi! Really interesting videos, thanks! One question, did you have any previous experience before your first placement? I am really interested in becoming a live-in carer but only have some private experience. Thanks, and regards from Spain🙂
Heyy! Where are you based? If you'd like to message me on instagram where it'll be much easier for me to talk to you about it. Carlies.lifee :) Happy to answer whatever questions you may have
As a live in carer, do you have the option of owning your own accommodation that u return to after working 8-9hours. Or are u mandated to spend the entire 24hours in the client’s home
I have just employed a live in carer for respite and they need to be in the home overnight. So I don't believe you can leave apart from the 2 hour break.
So for live in, you stay inthat persons home until the end of your placement. Whether that'd be a week or 2 months (up to you how long you work) you usually get a 2 hour break during that day and you can do whatever you want there
So I did 24 hours but you would normally do about 7-8 hours of care during the day, maybe some at night. I use to do one - 2 weeks and then a week or two off
@@antoniohodo1015u literally live there for 24 hours 7 days a week and work and get paid only for 12 hours or 11 hours the pay is like 1,135 a week when I did it. It sounds good but when u do the math it’s only like 16.50 per hour 7 days a week so u give your life away for crumbs the time and the pay don’t add up but it’s good if u want to save or in school
So glad you uploaded this. I have an interview or a support worker job 16-18yo ..although it sounds quiet exciting I'm just worried about how much time I will have with my partner or friends ... or how challenging it may become to have your own personal life. Do you have this problem at all?x
Congrats!! You sill love it. I work away so sometimes I dont see my partner or family/friends for weeks. However, as I a support worker im sure you'll be doing shifts which means you'll go home at the end of the day. They ask what you can work so I would state to them the days you cant work

I got paid 1,135 a week u stay in the home 24 hours 7 days a week and work 11 to 12 hours but have to be there 24/7 u have no life but to live in at work all day every day. We get paid everyweek but lets say you done a placement today until next tuesday. Whatever you done this week, will get summarised up on monday and will be in your bank the following monday
So how long did you spend looking after the same person at a time ? Is it a week with one person then another week with another person 😁 just wondering how it works week to week

I'm interested in being a live in caregiver. I'm being told that the shift is basically 16 hrs, 7 days a week. How do you have time to do anything?
