- Hi folks! Today we have a quick peep review of the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse GOLD LABEL Captain Atom action figure. Wouldn't it be fun, if by the end of the time McFarlane has the DC license, we were able to build the entire Justice League International!

Must have figure for me, will definitely be buying this. Fingers crossed for a Plastic Man figure from McFarlane one of these days. This is a rare time where marbling actually makes the figure look better!

The fact that they havent made additional hands for this buck is just strange. Captain Atom has a trigger finger...why?

I love this figure! I really had liked what they did with Captain Atom in the Justice League Unlimited animated series. I remember also the Batman/Superman comic series where he was featured in an antagonistic role, sent by President Luthor to apprehend Superman with Power Girls help. Definately will be picking this up, IF I'm lucky enough to find it.

The paint on this one came out great
I like this body buck. The Jon Kent could have a few minor tweaks and it would be perfect for reuse. Can’t wait for this Flash release. The Deadman was awesome 👏 Getting two of this figure for the husband.
With they would sculpt the lower abs and pelvic bone more…. I think that would hide the “diaper” look…..
He looks great! Can't wait to get this guy, I'm all for the super classic versions of all the DC characters that I love so much. I'm wondering what are the chances of a chase figure version of Kingdom Come/Armageddon Captain Atom repaint... that'd be sweeeet too. And thanks for adding "shoulder donuts" to my brain, it's just what I needed!
I honestly think that two fists would have made sense instead of trigger hands but to me, Captain Atom does look 100% ultra cool despite the stupid diaper around his ab area because it looks so..
really distracting on this figure in general and he is needed for any DC Multiverse collection, Great review on Captain fig Atom Brad .
I like it a lot, definitely going in my wishlist.
I gotta say though: it's kind of weird how a lot of these figures are mislabeled and the artwork and design of the figure doesn't match at all the one on the card. Is not really a problem but it's just wierd situation... like the production pipeline at McFarlane don't communicate? 😅

Nice little Charlton Comics "lesson" there. I guarantee your average current DC fan does not know about the Charlton Comics characters and their Watchmen counterparts. They should! It's good DC history.

This is a good figure. It isn't a must for me, but it's definitely one of those characters who could use more love, so this is very welcome.

Too bad he's a Walmart exclusive. That's always very challenging for me, because I rarely see them listed on ine. There's also no Walmart in my area. This might only be available to me in the secondary market.

Man I wish I could get this figure but I live in the US and they don't sell Walmart exclusives in the US.
Hopefully I can import it without too much trouble.
At this point I just assume DC won't let Mcfarlane have any non New52 images for a lot of characters or new52 may be in the pipeline.
Yes they do all the new Walmart exclusives eventually go up online and slowly show up in stores u just have to wait they eventually show up
OMG. They used that horrible picture instead of Pat Broderick. I need this in my life. Bodywise he's similar Silver Surfer. Yeah, New52 Q-Tip head wasn't working.

I'm sorry but did you say "see it on the pegs"? you do realize this is a Wal-Mart exclusive right, so 1 or 2 figures per Wal-Mart?! I thought this figure had already come and gone!
Excellent reuse of the body parts. If he has 'em, why not use 'em to save money? I would have gone for a hair sculpt closer to the Mattel figure, not the entirely swept back look on the McFarlane figure. So glad he comes with energy effects, but NOT a flight stand? Well....I just use S.H. Figuarts stands for all my figures now anyway. I wish DC would stop treating Adam as their whooping boy. It seems like every time the writers want to show off how powerful someone is who we couldn't give a crap about, they just show up with the unconscious body of Captain Atom. Like, WTF DC?! Based on his powers, he should be "S" class, one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Superman once stated that there's only about five beings in the universe that he wouldn't want to take on in a fist fight. Martian Manhunter was at the top of that list, but Captain Atom should be number 2. Also, I'm VERY glad the figure is made to look like his classic costume and NOT the New 52 design.
Emily take the trading cart… I wish she did look like the trading card! It looks so much better with the translucent hair and no gloves! I have to say this is going to be a pass!
Captain Atom is sloppy and generic in my opinion. No extra hands, no detail chest symbol (just some ink blot), and simple paint job. Just goes to show that McFarlane can get lazy with some characters.
The diaper just ruins it for me.
Man....that diaper is outrageously ugly and ruins the whole figure.
