- In today's video I explain why we were wrong with our opinions on the outer worlds. Many dropped this game right after release, saying it did not live up to the hype. Some even going as far to say that it was a bad game. I know this to be true because I had this opinion. With my revisit to the game, I was given a whole knew perspective of this game, and today I here to explain it to you.

The Outer Worlds was never a get back at Bethesda for 76. it was entirely because Bethesda proper games don't feel like New Vegas. Fallout 4 didn't learn from how New Vegas improved on Fallout 3. Fallout 4 was barely even an RPG. The Outer Worlds was just a spiritual successor to Fallout New Vegas. Bethesda just makes games with different priorities than Obsidian. that said, it wasn't as good as New Vegas. but what it did show, was potential. i hope Outer Worlds 2 can be a genuinely great New Vegas successor instead just of a okay to pretty good one.
See I had the opposite reaction. I was super excited about this game before coming out and knew it would be good.
However the more I played the more I realized the character builder was average, the companions were uninteresting, and the so called hard to achieve "best" quest resolutions seemed more like it was the default ending. This is painfully obvious on second play through where I pretty much had to go out of my way to achieve an quest ending that didn't end with every happy and holding hands.
So what I'm saying is that you are right that I was wrong about this game, but that instead of the amazing game it should have been it ended up being PAINFULLY average.
Damn the editing is high quality. Tragic it doesn’t have more views.
While not as good, I still had a fair amount of fun with The Outer Worlds. Pavarti was great

I loved the game once I saw the trailer. It is just my type of game. The humor sits right with me. Gameplay is easy to get into. Missions are not overloaded. You get your fetch quests but they never bothered me like it happens in other rpgs. The setting is great. I love science fiction. Also the plot twists I can trigger depending who I am siding with. And the game still has some secrets forme.
I really liked the Emerald Vale when I played. With this being the introduction to the game world, it did a great job at getting my interest about how things worked there. How the company treats its people, how they seem to value the company over themselves and others and such. and the biggest concern with someone having just died not being the fact he died, but the fees that come with it. I didn't even notice the fetch questy stuff because of that stuff. Also, I was playing on hard, I got my ass beat quite a bit at first. I was a bit disappointed with it later in the game though, since I would come back occasionally just to see there's nothing really else after the start.
Yeah I definitely see where they were going with it, and my first time I was being very cynical. But my second play though I came or like emerald vale more than I didn’t my first time lol
If outer worlds had a better combat system it would be a 9, but as it stands it's a solid 7 for me. I always liked it but understood why a lot of people didn't.
I did the first major quest in edgewater and ended up dropping the game 3 years ago. It just felt so boring compared to a Fallout game. Picked up spacers choice on a big sale recently and really enjoying supernova difficulty! I think a little bit of personal maturity makes the corporate parody/sarcasm pretty enjoyable. The gunplay is still pretty bland but the worlds are gorgeous and the npc’s are much more interesting the second time around!

All in all I think outer worlds is a good game.. nothing more nothing less

Outer worlds is the most aggressively acceptable game ive ever played. I hardly had any moments where it was just painful to play, but also there were also pretty much zero moments where the game achieved its full potential (in the base game)
