  • This video demonstrates both the clutch and fork learning\calibration procedure as performed via FORScan.
The procedure was performed on a 2012 MK4 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi.
You can download FORScan from here: forscan.org/ho...
If you want to service your transmission (i.e. replace fluid & filter), there is a really good video here: • Ford Powershift Service
You perform this procedure at your own risk! This procedure is most "safe" than the dry clutch procedure which tends to be more difficult to perform and can fail.

Excellent! I'm about to fit a remanufactured transmission and it's good to see this is a viable DIY job.

I've done this today took me ages to get it going maybe 6 attempts and then loads of errors but now it's working perfectly and gear changes are so smooth. They had become a little harsh sometimes.

I have a question, when you should perform this calibration? Do i need to do it after DCT oil seal and the 9 washers replacement??

My transmission now feels like it's about to leap out from under my car when selecting drive and the car turns off, this is after running clutch learning procedure with a brand new clutch. Can get into drive by slowly cycling through the gears, the kick downs are keener and I can appreciate the effect it's trying for, but the transmissiom is still not working correctly. Back the mechanic again.... I have mondeo mk4.5 2012 tdci

I get a message during the scan, something along the lines of my OBD2 adapter isnt designed for my Ford Mondeo 2011 (MK4) and that all features won't work. Anyone else have this issue?

The gearbox oil should be changed at 20k miles and not recommended 40 k miles. Also the 6dct is not for everyone as its not a true automatic transmission and can easily be damaged by follish drivers I.e rolling the vehicle forward and then suddenly putting into reverse gear. This gearbox in the right hands is fantastic but for anyone who doesn't listen to transmission noises or an understanding of how this particular tranny works then its best to use a bicycle!!

This gearbox is junk my friend. They were never made properly and signed off on by ford and their bean counters even when told by getrag that it wasn't ready for production.

@@gotj still applies. Wet clutch didn't fix the issues. They didn't finish developing either transmission type (getrag) Ask any transmission shop that's ever dealt with them. A lot of places refuse to deal with them now. Ford replacement is the only way, even around here.

Why did you calibrate the clutch, did you replace any components? I read that some people had problems after calibration without replacing the clutch. sorry for my English

    • @Alex-po3rr
      @Alex-po3rr  4 года назад +5

Generally, from what I've seen, the wet type DCT in vehicles like the diesel versions of the Mondeo and Focus don't have issues with recalibration. That is very different for the petrol versions of these cars as they use the problematic dry clutch versions which can be difficult to perform such a procedure on.
I do this on my cars simply to improve the shift performance and feel. In my experience they seem to get a little "thumpy" especially when going from first to second on some cars, a fluid change and running this procedure typically makes that a lot better.

Hi Alex, Thanks and big appreciation from viewers like me.
My question is how come I haven't got option of " Clutch System Learn" in my Forscan?
I want to do that procedure in my Galaxy s-max zetec 1.6 tdci 2012 model as it has replaced clutch just 2 days a go but not comfortable with this new clutch yet and found it bit hard to press instead of softer.
    A big thanks in advance..

I'm not sure if this is your issue but I did have this once with one of the cars and it oddly reappeared after reinstalling Forscan. Just double check that is has the DCT450 transmission as, from memory, there were some traditional automatics in which case you wouldn't see that option. Hope that helps....
