  • Wonderful to have a truck start with no need to worry about batteries or cold! This one helped me jump a few others.

    They had one at a shop in Portland just last week. I was there getting my semi truck repaired and they had this exact same looking truck in the parking lot. They did a bunch of suspension and brake work to it.
    It looked restored from what I could tell. Just a beast of a off road semi truck.
    Very cool looking. But also uncomfortable inside. 😂

    These were good vehicles in general. They were tall and top heavy and did not need to be designed that way.
    Had hundreds of these show up at the port of Dammam after the Gulf War ended.
    We unloaded them out of floating boxes and drove them to a large parking lot, they sat there.

    It pains me to see these trucks wasting away in a field. CTIS is a good thing if you keep up on the truck and don't let it just sit. My LMTV gets driven at least once a week and it has never let me down yet.

      Logan Dorsey yes

    • @Slim_Slid
      @Slim_Slid 6 лет назад

      Logan Dorsey No you actually don't,It just depends on what state you live in.Like in Illinois,if it's a vehicle even on it's age,that's over 16,000 lbs,a CDL is required.But I live in Texas to,and a CDL isn't required for a vehicle like this,if being a normal owner,registering and purchasing a truck like this as a Classic or RV isn't a big deal.It's a problem if you want to use them for hauling freight but don't have any Class License.
      The restriction on weight is up to 27,001 lbs also,so if you want a trailer to go with the set or even run around with cargo on the trailer,all three or just truck and trailer can't go over 27,001 lbs altogether as a unit.
      I own a M54A1 and M931A2 CTIS myself which are both 5 Ton trucks and have their own tankers with them as military items also.The M931A2 I own is 22,000 lbs and the M54A1 I own was at 17,000 lbs when I had to get it scaled for insurance under Gulfway if I remember correctly.

      GWLAD The M923-M938's with this Body and M50/M800 Cabs with Roof Rack,Canvas,or Solid Top came with several engines all by Cummins between 1981-1999.They had a NHC-250,NCS-250,400NTC,HT855,and 6CTA as random options from the factory.The one in the video could come as that with the 1200×20 CTIS Tires from 1987-1999 as the A2.The A2's came with a NCS-250 and 6CTA as basic options up until production was phased out.
