I have this drum with an Aquarian Hi-Energy head and I love it. This drum has a lot of ring, but in my demo recordings, it's absolutely amazing. Very articulate and bright with a 330/392hz tuning, leaving a lot to work with in a recording scenario. I've also used it live and have gotten a fair number of compliments on the tone, from sound guys and patrons/other drummers. For the price, this drum is fantastic.
