I am an alum of this amazing ensemble, and will have the privilege to sing this Tuesday with the Druid City Chorus in Tuscaloosa. Knowing that this piece was commissioned for AMC gives me joy and pride. I miss Dr. Nelson and the musicians that make up AMC. Keep singing and make music come alive through your beautiful voices. Dan Forrest truly wrote a masterpiece with this song.
I think it's illegal to make something THIS beautiful. When I heard this live, it sounded like the most gorgeous music I'd ever heard. The instrumentation makes for such a bright, optimistic feeling. The piano and strings give this piece such color. Every part of the music sounds so grand and greater-than-the-world. This is what gratitude sounds like- when you just can't explain why things are beautiful, but are just simply thankful. Love this so much. i thank You God for Atlanta Master Chorale and Dan Forrest
@@itsmeeric13 I sang this at Carnegie Hall with the LMU Choirs on 6/3/22. It was a transformative experience. We were all sobbing during dress rehearsal. What an amazing work. Thank you, Dan Forrest.
This is what happens when two great minds meet: One of my favorite poems by my favorite poet with one of the greatest living composers. Spectacular collaboration across time!
I’ve performed in choir for many years now and listened to only the lord knows how many pieces throughout that time, and the magic of sound has never touched so strong as it did when I listened to this piece. Thank you for your performance of this, it really is one of the most wonderful things that will ever grace this earth and each and every person involved in this should be extremely proud.
EXHILIRATING!!!!!! .... and I thank God and YOU, my dear Atlanta Master Chorale for this amazing day.... for all the years I had the joy of singing with such fellow-singers... every heart was filled with beauty and love as you sang this... I know, for I know you. So, thank you. THANK YOU!
Instrumental music straight from the King's Throne accompanied by an Angel Choir from the Most High! I feel blessed just to be able to listen to such majesty and beauty from this outstanding composition. A true taste of heaven here on earth - thank you Atlanta Master Chorale!
This is so lush! Such a brilliant premiere!!! Leave it to Dan to imagine something so positively colorful. This is my new morning wake up alarm music and it’s absolutely PERFECT!
Was feeling anxious about getting my 2nd COVID vaccine...Dan Forrest’s masterpiece was the only thing I knew I could listen to and be comforted and transported. Happens every time I hear this piece. Thank you.🙏🏾
Why would a person give it a thumbs down is a mystery to me! Nothing but pure God given talent and how great to share it with us! God Bless from Wisc †
An exquisite work entrusted to an unbelievably talented composer by God, who channeled this work and its text through angelic singers for all of us so that we may experience this magnificent composition through our ears and in our souls. I can't recall when I felt such ecstasy as I enjoyed each listen after the first:. God truly speaks to Dan Forrest, who in turn conveys something so very Heavenly to Dr. Eric Nelson and the members of the -unbelievably accomplished Atlanta Master Chorale so that they can communicate the message through our ear and eyes to our soul as each of us sits in pure ecstasy and delight. I cannot keep from listening to this great work, and each time I listen my heart is lifted closer and closer to Heaven. Thank you God, thank you Dan Forrest, and thank you Dr. Nelson and members of the Atlanta Master Chorale! Each of you is a blessing unto me!
The poem, and this musical setting fit perfectly with the prayer exercise called "the application of the senses" in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola
I needed this song today. I am going through a very difficult time. I totaled my beautiful car a few days ago and I had hip replacement surgery in October that didn't work out. I will under go another surgery in three weeks. I am also suffering with a horrible problem I can't talk about. God help me.
