This style of plate racing is ok. Personally I’d rather it be more in the drivers hands tho. I think you’d probably need to revive the tandem package for that or go back to the early 2000’s wicker spoiler where you would have cars spread out and they had more of an ability to slingshot past other cars.
Rn it’s basically just them sitting there hoping that a bunch cars jump out to push them and then someone makes a bad block and slows down that line or causes a big crash.
As someone who genuinely likes watching drivers fight for each run they get like they do at nearly every other track, this style of racing doesn’t interest me.
Kinda wish we had less “plate” style tracks tbh

Leigh Diffey was fantastic in his debut for what was a fun, kick ass race! My God! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and yelling at the TV from flag to flag as it was a miracle that I didn’t wake my grandparents in the process! I’m happy for Burton and LOVE new winners but at the same time, I still hate this Chase Format and even though I will always love feel good underdog stories, I’ll simultaneously be realistic and admit that those same underdogs have NO business being in the Chase even if it’s someone I root for.
Thank God Berry is alright! That one scared the HELL out of me and McDowell got so lucky not to go all the way over nor into the catchfence! Another failed experiment by NASCAR with the right side window railing. They tried that to keep the cars on the ground and as expected the shit didn’t work. Back to the drawing board I guess!

The cars are safe, but it's inexcusable that cars keep getting up in the air so easily when it's plainly obvious why it's happening. The undercarriage is flat as plywood. I guess NASCAR will keep it, though, since cars flipping over makes all the highlight reels and gets folks talking. We can't just ignore the fact that McD's LR quarter panel missed Alex Bowman's window net by a foot. I don't want to think of the consequences had those two items met flush.

Personally, I want like mid 70s racing at these tracks. I'm just over the packs and have been for awhile. Put it back in the teams' and the drivers' hands by making the cars slide around and have to handle well like they do everywhere else. Takeaway downforce and counter it with a little horsepower increase until it balances out to the point where they cannot hold it wide opem even when they're by themselves and the pack racing goes away. Where there is a will, there is a way. That's what I'd like to see, but I'm probably in the minority.
