  • From burns and scars to everything in between, Abigail Steele and her team carefully craft makeup looks to tell a deeper story. In this behind-the-scenes look, brought to you by ZipRecruiter, Steele walks us through some of the show’s more intricate details. Yellowstone airs Sundays at 8/7c on Paramount Network.

Yellowstone is a drama series that follows the Dutton family, led by patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner). The Duttons control the largest contiguous ranch in the U.S. and must contend with constant attacks by land developers, clashes with an Indian reservation and conflict with America's first national park.

When Rip makes Beth breakfast and she's sitting there scars trying to hold back the tears because she knows just how much Rip truly loves her, makes me tear up with her.

Each scar that we have is the confirmation that the wounds heal. Scars are marks of overcoming that only a true warrior has and if anyone is to be called a warrior, is BETH DUTTON.

Am I the only one who actually teared up when she was talking about Beth's scar under her eye that told a story.

I recently did a short video about an inspiring young SFX makeup artist and Halloween prop builder with Osteogenesis Imperfecta called "My Superpower." The video explores Tiffany Mannings life with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease) and some of the monsters and characters she has created, which draw inspiration from her own life and experiences.

Now i just read on you tube that it wasn't make-up. Seeing a lot of conflicting info on RUclips about Yellowstone. I love watching Yellowstone.

I thought the amount of time the story dedicated to Beth's recovery VS the scars she was left with really didn't even come close to matching up. One or the other felt totally out of whack.

Your right. I'm getting conflicting info on RUclips. A lot of thing's are not matching up.

I couldn’t agree more. There is no way she would have recovered from burns of that magnitude so quickly. They didn’t do their homework. It felt like it wasn’t authentic, it was for shock value. Such a disappointment!

I thought so, at first, then realized that there was no actual time-line given on anyone's story. It does cover a while tho.

Agreed- these conflicts of healing time and screen time give less to reality in a medical sense and more to the visual … for example sometimes we test a makeup that’s very correct on medical terms yet on camera it does not read at all how we need it to. Adjustment have to be made and we hope our audience can see the beauty even in THAT. Symbolism goes deep

How beautiful scars are? I noticed the person making that statement doesn’t have any. If you did in fact have some facial scarring I wonder how you would view them as beautiful?

    • @abbysteele

Oh my friend you don’t know the scars I have.

    • @abbysteele

And yes I find them beautiful. I find heartache beautiful and stories beautiful and mess of life beautiful. What is real is beautiful. The tombstone remained or crack in the wall… I am planning to write a book
