If you check on Amazon you can find them (at times) close to 1 dollar per bean. I stocked up a year ago and have 2 vodka, 1 rum, 1 spiced rum, and 1 whiskey large bottles steeping with the beans. The large bottles were cheap, around 10 dollars per bottle at Walmart. Used 10 beans per bottle. For the cheapest in flavor look for Molina Vanilla Blend Extract, it doesn't have the bad stuff that Mexican Vanilla is known for and it's dirt cheap.
Great recipe. The narration had me in comic tears. This is brilliant cooking video technique. Hell yes, I'll subscribe! I love the third person narration.
As a chef. These are very entertaining to watch. You do a remarkable job and I love that you show people that cooking is fun and easy. Please keep up the great work buddy. A life hack. I’ve been making ‘egg custard’ literally for decades using this recipe, or half cream half milk. If I don’t do the sugar topping a sprinkle of nutmeg tastes pretty good too.
Im gonna try this recipe for my dad. He's diabetic and I want him to enjoy his 77th bday dinner celebration with us and not feel guilty of lifes simple pleasure

Thanks! I did some testing a while back and the Swerve brown sugar was the closest to a cracking top, but it was not good enough. Now Im curious how sukrin gold stacks up to it!
this dessert cooking reminded me of a game Diablo II (first quest) 😅, because of the phrase: Into The devil’s den they go 3:04 Thank you for this guide, already did it 3x times, incredible taste. Have a nice day and happy New Year
jolly ranchers sugar-free uses isomalt to make the hard candy. this with some brown food coloring and caramel flavoring would be a truly low carb solution.
Bloody brilliant 👍 trying not to laugh 😂 with the commentary as hubby is sleeping 😴 beside me and don’t want to wake him. Do you know how hard it is to stop oneself from giggling 🤭?!
How did you know I needed a dessert vid??! Thank you RUclips algorithm lol On another note..... is there something we need to know about you and ants??
So I made this and it is better than the regular kind. I have only been doing keto for a few weeks and I am losing pounds but I still wanted something sweet. How often can I eat one of these?
It's pretty calorically dense. If you are not tracking your calorie intake, I recommend you start doing so. Keto/low-carb can only take you so far, afterwards you must be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Once you know your intake, you can have these as often as it fits into your macros. You might save a few hundred calories a day for it and eat it on the regular!

I know what you mean about the vanilla bean, I usually get my vanilla extract from Martinique. The last time my Aunt came to the states was 5 years ago. Now my mother's friend is coming up from Martinique as well in November and she will bring me a bottle of vanilla extract. Let me just say a tiny bit goes a long way I still have perhaps about 3/4 to 1 cup of vanilla. It smells amazingggg if I can swim in it I'll be in heaven😂
New to keto. Tried this recipe and wow was it sweet. I think 3/4 cup erythritol was way too much. I’ll definitely cut that amount significantly next time I try it.
This is the most realistic cooking demo that I've seen, trying to get stuff out of the oven and you've miscalculated the type of utensils needed, trying to gingerly add ingredients only to dump the whole thing in, the moving bowl etc. I can identify. This is real.
Utilizing Lakanto monk fruit sweetener yields a rather acceptable outcome in terms of the caramelized crust, should you wish to attempt with such product at a future occasion.
Man, so close to being sugar free! Maybe reduce the sugar further by using a technique we chefs use...pour sugar on top, swirl/spread to coat, empty what doesn't get stuck to custard. Then brûlée as demonstrated. Thank you for your arduous tinkering to bring us some really cool recipes! Now I go back to perfect my KetoTurrón.
The only low carb sweetener that semi-works is allulose or bocha sweet. The others just form a goo instead of a nice hard top! Sorry for the delayed response... YT is really weird sometimes on what comments it shows me and when :(

Creme Brûlée is one of my favorite desserts. I’ve never tried to make it. Other than the fire aspect, it looks pretty easy.
It really is! Its basically mix, heat, pour, chill. Just have to make sure you dont boil it and it should be good!
Thank you for acknowledging how expensive vanilla beans are lol
Everyone says 'just buy some beans!' 😑

Nutmeg would be a good alternative. Cinnamon would probably go well too, considering it's used for rice pudding!
Try with allulose (also named psicose), it makes a perfect glass of caramel on the top. Perfect for meringues or jam too.
Can confirm allulose works just like sugar for this

I have to get brave and try to make this. Looks Mmmmmmm good. I’m low carb and more carnivore and a sugar addict, but I don’t fear the sugar.

Yes! I wasn't fully aware of allulose at the time or it would have been my go-to choice! I would still use real sugar for the caramel top though
@@BlackTieKitchen Yes, I agree. There is no substitute to get that satisfying crunchy top.

Utilizing Lakanto monk fruit sweetener yields a rather acceptable outcome in terms of the caramelized crust, should you wish to attempt with such product at a future occasion.
The lokanto that's cut with erythitrol?
@@BlackTieKitchen indeed.
It’s really exciting to see a low carb version of creme brulee get a 2 spoons of sugar on top.
The 2-3g of sugar are worth it. This thing is already calorically dense, so its about what youd get if you ate a keto side dish 😂
2 tablespoons of sugar equals 25 G carbohydrate that is not low carb
It's a tsp. Not tablespoon. Its also optional
Love the commentary😆
