Lockheed Martin Production Of F-16 Ordered By The Philippine Air Force

- Representatives from Americam defense consultant Defense Bridge Asia and American defense giant Lockheed Martin were in the Philippines and met with Philippine Air Force Commanding General Lt. Gen. Stephen Parreño last 05 March 2024.
Lockheed Martin manufactures the F-16 Viper which is still in the running for the Philippine Air Force's Multirole Fighter Acquisition Project.
Note that the Philippines already indicated interest to acquire new MRFs where the F-16 Block 70 Viper is competing, as well as used F-16s from either 3rd party countries or the US Excess Defense Articles.
For me, we should just drop the F-16 as well as the F/A-50 & just save money by focusing on the SAAB JAS-39 Gripen! Doesn't matter if it's the C+/D+ MS-20 variant or the E/F, the Gripen is the BEST Multi-Role Fighter for the Philippine Air Force BAR NONE! And besides, if Sweden allows us to have a License-Production/Technology Transfer agreement for, among other things, the SAAB JAS-39 Gripen, then we can develop our own Military-Industrial Complex at a MUCH lower cost in a shorter time frame thus allowing us to modernize the Armed Forces of the Philippines while giving more jobs to Filipinos thus also growing our economy!
If Gripen E can beat the F-16V in terms of pricing which is currently the advantage of F-16, they will win.
Sorry, but even if we do drop the Viper and the FA-50 Block 20's plan ang combined both fundings of both Acquisition, our budget will still fell short... Due to price per units and the full package deal and the tech. Transfer plan... It will eat up the 400 billion budget and the LCA budget, for at least 12/24 units and it's max quantity already, and that plan won't do... Plus surely a 12 units will be in a much longer period of time producing it instead of just 2 years max?... Which we can't afford to wait as much as 3/6 years time of delivery?.... Coz it will be build from start to finish, coz there's no ready to be built Gripen E, unlike the 14 units of Gripen C/D MS20's which already have a ready airframes... That's why SAAB actually promised a 24 months or 2 years of delivery after signed contract, and issuing NOA, and NTP.

Truly the best option for PAF DND is for 12-14 Jas 39 E/F Gripen w/ its 5th generation Avionics ,Advanced A.I. tech. , low operating & maintenance cost, can be deploy on road sides on STOL . Do not require expensive hangers runways. F16V blk 70 requires expensive run ways hangers & expensive operating / maintenance cost .
India, Singapore, Switzerland, Finland,and Taiwan deployed F-16, F-18, F-5, F-15, Mirage 2000 and SU-30 on highways and roads+ they proved it.

Sir Max, the majority now prefer the JAS 39 Gripen, 10 C/D, and 4 E/F for quick delivery and maybe tech transfer as well. This is due to threatening moves by China.
We are tired of watching vlogs that give us high hopes, but nothing is definite. Vloggers posted the following:
1. Used F16 Barack from Israel offered to the Philippines, but much more expensive than that from Denmark or the Netherlands.
2. Eurofighter Typhoon offered by Germany and the UK.
3. Dassault Rafale is offered by France.
4. F2 and F15J are offered by Japan.
5. The latest post watched India is offering the Tejas and tech transfer since it is able to carry and air launch Brahmost anti-ship missiles. To date, nothing is definite even though some PAF pilots were sent to Andrews AFB in Maryland for training a few years ago when Delfin Lorenzana was SecDef or before him could not remember anymore because I dismissed it as “what is new.” If pilots were sent to the US for training then why in the world is progress slower than snail? It takes months or years for pilots to get fully proficient in flying very expensive MRFs. Is it going to be F16v from L/M and earlier versions from a third country or excess defense or any of what other vloggers posted? Is the government trying to mislead the citizenry or playing the enemy with a psychological information blitz?
The Philippine government cannot afford the brand new F-16s, so it opted for secondhand.

The freebies is so expensive including missiles air to air and 12 harpoon. If you compute 12x80 million USD how much? I think almost 200 million USD per units. Unlike Gripen maybe different. @@johnnycanz-hv1hu you haven't considered the comprehensive logistics, spares,inflation, infrastructure and armament package offered for a country like PH starting from scratch on building up an MRF fleet.
US ensures that their clients will sustain their MRF fleets comprehensively, thus the comprehensive logistics na padagdag sa presyo. Matuto na dun sa FA-50 issue na walang comprehensive logistics deal kaya nakatengga yung iba diyan dahil walang piyesa!
South Africa nga natengga yung mga Gripen CD nila eh dahil walang piyesa!

Brazil's Gripen deal has overruns due to developments requested by them and that contract is in 2014. That value should be higher by now due to inflation. And their first 36 Gripens cost above $100 million mark due to developments. Their claim of $85 million a piece will be at their next batches since the numbers are expanding. Economies of scale.
