Well, Masahiro's life was tough ever since he was a kid, so it's not surprising he fell for Kousuke, who also has some fatherly like qualities. What intrigues me is why Kousuke fell for Masahiro, as it seems that he fell for him since Masahiro was even younger. In the flashbacks Masahiro seemed to be idk, 10, maybe 11? That makes Kousuke 22-23 at the time, which is even worse. The age gap is the the big morally and legally not ok, otherwise the story is good and i liked that they get a good ending. The anime covers only the first few chapters of the manga and has some changes.

But I remember Kousuke said that he found how Masahiro worked so hard and was a good person at heart , even with such a tough life, to be admirable/inspiring, something like that. You can say Masahiro needed someone to take care of him and Kousuke likes to look after people.
