“I do - I will...” - Harry has to look Falstaff in straight in the face before those last two words - he is warning Falstaff that at some point their relationship will end. Jack doesn’t get it. But we do. Amazing what WS can do with only 8 letters.
For all the woes and troubles of man, the fact that classic plays are still gave body, and by glad audience life, gives me hope that man may still become his own self and secure the path of Apollo.
Why do you not release these recordings on RUclips? These poor players strut and fret their many hours upon a stage. For while their oration may entertain a few And they may expand their craft for a few From here the whole world becomes a stage. For when they expire It is here in this baseless void their performances remain forever.
You said, 'another prodigy of this our waning age.' But such a bold statement has to make sense. It's a fucking history, part of the Henriad cycle. Prattling about Carry On was daft.
I honestly couldn't finish it. Everyone is being a "good listener", and the women in the corner are quietly laughing because they feel so awkward. Come on, y'all! PLAY THE SCENE! Totally dead.

I've seen this production rwice - and I can't fault it! A wonderful balance between naturalism and larger than life performance.
Saw it on Shakespeare's birthday! Amazing!
Magnificent in every way!
Had the privilege of seeing this live in May, was a wonderful experience. Hoping to get to see part 2 eventually.

Yet, we are but dust blown about by the breathe of Gods.
Art is how we shall encompass the lungs of dieties and make them to set us near we wish.
@@zacharybunting3637Two excellent comments.
Wonderful!! Love this Flalstaff.
The saddest words - I do. I will.
To this day I often wonder... Was Hal still in the role of his father when he said that?
watched it just now. great job, love it.
Wonderful!
One of the best Falstaff performances I've seen, even better than Simon Russel Beale in Hollow Crown
Hooray! Thank you for sharing!
that guy to Falstaff left looks like He just had a spliff laughing for everything.
Since seeing it only Chimes at Midnight with Orson Welles will do.
This was an excellent production. Jennifer Kirby (one of the laughing women on the left) went on to star in Call the Midwife!
Translucent was amazing in Theater

I always thought of the last several lines of this scene as being more intimate. But showiness is falstaff.
The modern trend is to play Shakespeare's comedies as if they were Carry On films. Another prodigy of this our waning age.
It isn't a comedy. The scene is comic but this is part of the history cycle mate.
@@ishmaelforester9825 Look up the word 'comedy.' Mate.
@@benedictmichael2720 it isn't a comedy. This is part of the history cycle. The scene is comedic kind of.

The tragedies and histories have many comic moments that comedies lack. It’s the same with ancient drama.
Why is a rowdy group of friends in a bar so silent during this playful scene? So many missed opportunities.
Orsen Welles's Falstaff is better. It's more realistic.
This is straight up awful. Totally overplayed. I've never seen this scene be less funny or less interesting.
Amazing scene nevertheless 👌🏻
It seems like that entire audience disagrees with you mate.

What utter rubish are you one of the kind of person who always criticise, the audience disagrees with you!
