I thought the AAA buffs were simply meant to kill more players or just ruin their matches so they earn less RP and SL... but what you said about forcing players out of Air RB props... makes sense and absolutely sounds like something Gaijin would do
With regard to the midfield aaa in high tier props, sure you're travelling faster so it feels like you'd be safer...but the hitscan midfield aaa that hangs around light pillboxes has now been accompanied by m163s with RB damage models that absolutely WILL vulcan your wings off if you come within gun range (and even sometimes when you aren't: I once had both my wings removed by a mid-field m247 in an air RB EC 6.7-7.7 match at FIVE KILOMETRES UP). They're boiling the frog, patching fun out of the game bit by bit.

Ah, another episode in my favourite series of 'Rant'fyn. On the real tho, the AA situation is getting annoying. One thing you also didn't highlight is repair costs for superprops and their modifiers. After the economy update tier IV planes got somewhat shafted. They're at just the right spot where they get the worst of both worlds, reduced modifiers across the board whilst still maintaining their somewhat high repair costs of 8-10k on average and in some select fighters 16k+. On average I earn maybe 10k per game (that's 1 kill on an enemy fighter and no deaths *and with a premium account* ). If I then repeat the same events in the next match but end up dying i'll have made 10k but then lost 10k because of my repair cost, so my profit is zero. Another interesting thing I found out is that I can make almost 18k if I decide to be a cancer to my team and ground-pound in my fighter. It seems as though gaijin is rewarding players more for groundpounding and bleeding tickets, which is arguably easier, than they are rewarding players who slug it out against each other in dogfights which are much harder in comparison. I get more money for attacking AI targets than I do for learning new skills and air combat manoeuvres that I then use to skillfully take down an enemy plane. It's simply backwards thinking and it's part of the reason the prop scene is the way it is right now. I am being penalised for being a more skillfull player.
I regularly fail queued into 4.0 to 5.0 at one point with some friends with the thing. It can handle itself pretty well as long as you manage your energy, don't try to go for bombers, and make occasional use of those airbrakes. Kinda reminds me of a Hellcat but with only two guns and airbrakes.
Glad to hear FW-190 A-1 video is around the corner, one of the most enjoyable 190s there are. May I suggest the A-5/U2? Best performance out of the A's and two 20mms are plenty enough. It is also surprisingly enjoyable to dogfight in, with smart flap management that is.
I was just in the American 2.7 P-39 today. Ran into a Yak sitting up at altitude at the start of the match. Got 2 kills, went back to re-arm (yeah, it's not spaded and I suck with that plane), and started shooting down the enemy players in bombers. The Yak just sat up at like 6km the entire time. I ended up just winning on tickets cuz the Yak wouldn't come down to fight. I really don't understand some players these days. I watched the replay and everything. I still cannot believe that I spaded this plane at 4.0... when it had no air spawn. Now it's an attacker at 2.3. Absolutely fucking ridiculous. This thing is a menace as CAS in ground battles. It's basically a free kill machine against any planes, and it can even easily destroy tanks at that BR with the M3 .50 cals, not to mention the rockets.
Maybe the AAA is trying to force fights back up to altitude? I know the snail sucks, but what if we assume they are operating in good faith for a second. What positive changes could increasing the AA like this? I’m hoping they were intending to increase the altitudes back up. Unfortunately the players are stubborn and still rush in low, and it’s detrimental to CAS players
The issue with that good faith argument is that there is still a 25m timer on every match. Once you lose altitude the ability to return to altitude is limited by the match length, especially at lower tiers or slow climbing aircraft. The most likely answer is ignorance on gaijin’s part or reducing match length for faster queue times
Maybe they’re trying to make ground attack more strategic. Before, you could just head-on AA at near stall speed without a care in the world. Now you need to stay fast, minimize your exposure, and dodge until you’re out of range.

I strongly agree with the aa. Ridiculous. Also a little side note i miss the flak clouds and the sounds of the explosions, at least youd know to be a bit careful but its still too OP
I agree with you about the game being riddled with problems and have hated on it a lot, you certainly can't expect to play competitively and succeed because of the tiering system. All you can do is just take out the vehicle you enjoy the most and just make the most of the games you play, Gaijin just want you to spend money at the end of the day.

I totally agree with this RANT. As a Hornet player, I'm just really burn down by all of these JU288C. I swear half of my kills are them, literally inflating my 6.0 result.
I completely agree the AA in game is bullsheet. I'm a Sim Air EC player, and though not as toxic as in RB. It is still there, and getting worse. If the goal is to kill RB Air then I'd say my favored Sim modes are even closer in line to the chopping block. As already no Sim modes work to progress events, daily tasks, ect. We are forced to play RB or AB for things like the battle pass.
DEFYN finally decreases his convergence for planes with wide wing mounted guns... I thought I'd never see the day! I remember watching your A1 video where you kept "Sparking" of the P39N and I remember thinking to myself if only DEFYN used a 400m convergence he would've shot this guy down 3 times already. I think I even commented the same thing back then on that video.
Awesime, completely agree Gaijin needs to fix mid map AAA its a seriius pain and ruining the game for me. Also love you flying so many props this last while, sgmhame AAA is putting a damper on things.
Now I tried it (completly forgot that I have it😅) stocked in one Air Arcade Battle and it's like a flying tank there. Just refuses to die instantly and though it turns slow it wreck everything
I'm relatively new to WT, I notice you use tracers on a few builds I've watched so far, is there a particular reason for that? Is it just ease of aiming or is there another reason?
It depends on you. Like what the person has commented, the .50cals on the Firecrest has the option to use full API-T. There are also other options like using Universal belts (personally I use them instead of tracers because I do not want tracers to visually block my target). Another example is using the MG 151/20s, there is a Tracer belt option, but I recommend using Air Targets since most of the ammo in the belt uses HEF-I. But for the most part, it really depends on you.
The P39N is a glorious plane. I absolutely love it, but I also know it should be at least in at 3.0 or 3.3 even in Air RB... I mean; I am NOT good at this game, and I go 4V1 Carry or 4-kill games in a P39N... that's saying something.
Bro i have a suggestion pls listen, the american premium F-89B jet with afterburners got downtiered to 7.0, pls make a video on it and comparing it with su-11. On stats it seems it is even more OP/P2W than Su-11. It has got better speed, better gun, better climb rate, afterburners, a lot of ammo compared to Su-11.
Gaijin definitely hates when people prefer playing low tier to high tier. They don't care if you just want to play props or ww2 tanks, it's all about making more money from Rank VII and now VIIi
Sadly GAYjin killed this plane when they nerfed it to rank 2. It's not that bad of a plane, but it adds nothing new to the meta, and there are other planes that "does it better" or just the same, but those can be used on events and for tasks. So even in naval the Firebrand is a better option.
It's because Gaijin puts these planes at br where they shouldn't fight, for example Firecrest's first flight was at 1947, so historically it should be at 6.3, but instead it's 2.3, which is radiculous. Su-25 first flight in 1978 and it has same br as mid 50s planes
0 chance that Gaijin can claim the AAA is for "Realism" or "Immersion" until I stop getting stomped by American 109s and Zeroes and having my pilot arbitrarily get sniped from 2km by a 30 cal because allegedly you can train a pilot to get hit by random bullets less
All of the shit wrong with Air has actually made me just prefer flying in Ground RB. Most of the time you can actually get dogfights. People still run to airfield but not as often. Last time I played air i played well over 200 games spading Spitfires and grinding camos and it really just made it clear to me that Air just isn't what it used to be. Mid map AA fucked me so many times and almost every game I would have people just run to airfield or camp it at the end of games. People used to play with some kind of honor but all those pilots left after they changed the match making to non historical it seems. I genuinely feel bad for the minority of decent pilots that didn't get to experience that era of Air. It was easily the most rewarding gameplay I've ever gotten out of a game. But anymore most games just feel like a shit show and it's just not the same. There's hardly any time for set ups and clutches and everybody plays like abusive bitches anyway. Feels bad man.
This actually sounds quite stupid, but lately i have been finding myself playing tier 7 air or ground rb instead of playing air rb. Purely because of the AA
the mid map AA has godly aim, i remember am flying my yak3p looking for the last guy and then i get sniped by a fucking milktruck that's on the move, i just took some time off after that shit
I enjoy props way more than jet with no damn air-to-air missiles and takes some skill to dog fight and know your planes. But i totally agree and WT is just getting ruined cause gaijin can't figure out how and where what BR to put planes and or tanks and they try to fix it but only to ruin it rite away again with some new overpowered cash grab they bring in. Its a never-ending cycle and after playing this game since 2012end -2013 you would think gaijin wants to keep the players its got and not lose them. Which that's another story them new players are protected it seems( tin-foil hat time) as you get kill shots like on any other player on them(new players) but for some odd reason they don't die that's why I think that anyways cause its happened a numerous amounts of times and then i go look at there level and BOOM a level 15 or 11 and they bought a squadron vehicle or some type of plane/tank they shouldn't be in at there level.
I must say, I've been enjoying my relationship with this game a lot more since I started exclusively playing Sim.

Wow defyn, didnt take you for that type of person
Can you please do a video on the C205n2? compared to the serie 3 i fell like it just doesn't want to climb
Just refuses to die instantly and though it turns slow it wreck everything
have you become a paramedic yet? last time youve been studying it if i remember correctly
i have waited for this.
DEFYN, how did you control the oil and water to lower the temperature?
Can we get a jasdf Sabre review, day 3
I unlocked it but haven't played it yet. Would love to see a Yak-15p video
Ground RB makes more money btw. I think it's strategic.
Hey bro could you please tell about your keybind of airplane
nice epstein reference
Surprised you were able to get footage since gaijin can't figure out what ddos protection is
One of British planes of all time!
Gaijin definitely hates when people prefer playing low tier to high tier. They don't care if you just want to play props or ww2 tanks, it's all about making more money from Rank VII and now VIIi
DEFYN could you please make a video about the G91 R/4?
I got a talisman for this after a battle and i dont even have a normal tech tree rank 2 plane in british tech tree so its kinda nice i think
hi defyn!!! i was waiting for your next video me and my boys gotta keep busy somehow waiting for electric to come back
Wait, the P-39N actually went down to Br 2.7?! lmao!
I would love to see some DCS or IL2 content! War Thunder is dying :)
Nice I was in the first clip, love the content.
Tunisia is the map I selected to ban (premium time). It comes up in the rotation a lot and is too annoying.
This plane shines in ground rb.(it gets rp-3s)
Ronald McDonald on a bike with a machine gun 🤣🤣🤣 Jesus that may be in the works actually
Ye - I kinda stopped playing AIR RB, and just play planes in Ground RB tbh...
Sadly GAYjin killed this plane when they nerfed it to rank 2. It's not that bad of a plane, but it adds nothing new to the meta, and there are other planes that "does it better" or just the same, but those can be used on events and for tasks. So even in naval the Firebrand is a better option.
The ironic thing is that a lot of the OP vehicle in the game were absolutely failure or below average IRL.
It's because Gaijin puts these planes at br where they shouldn't fight, for example Firecrest's first flight was at 1947, so historically it should be at 6.3, but instead it's 2.3, which is radiculous. Su-25 first flight in 1978 and it has same br as mid 50s planes
Agree with you about AA
I kinda would like to see a Ronald McDonald on a bicycle with a machine gun! Maybe suggest it for Enlisted April fools?
0 chance that Gaijin can claim the AAA is for "Realism" or "Immersion" until I stop getting stomped by American 109s and Zeroes and having my pilot arbitrarily get sniped from 2km by a 30 cal because allegedly you can train a pilot to get hit by random bullets less
Completely draining him 🤨
All of the shit wrong with Air has actually made me just prefer flying in Ground RB.
I mean, new war thunder game, EDGE, doesn't have air mode and I dont think it will get one.
2:10 kinda sus 😂💀
GRIFFON VID
Do you ever play sim props?
day 11: play the murican f104a for maximum pure fun
*_3000 HP and an air spawn at 2.3… Nice!_*
YOU'RE GONNA START WHAT?!
