    In order to exhaust heat / hot air to the outside, the one hose unit must draw air from the inside of the room; and in doing, additional air is drawn from outside of the room. Unlike a central AC or window unit that draws air from outside to cool the condensing coils, these units are are entirely inside the dwelling. Still they work pretty well. I have one and have used it in my bedroom when my central unit has gone on strike.

      - Looking for video where there are two holes. Is one pulling in air and the other pushing out the heated air?
      - Is the double more efficient?
      - Is it worth extra cost?
      After watching your instructions, I am thinking I should position my dehumidifier towards the window. Maybe even I might make a right angle to direct that hot air out during hot season. (Heat welcomed during cold.). So, then another question: Are there dehumidifiers built to vent hot air out of a window?

      Yes, it could be a window, a cold air return duct or even a wall, which you would have to cut a hole in the wall for that but it’s an option. Either way in the heating process it’s cold air that is being expelled vs the cooling process in which heat is being expelled.

    Thank you for your video. I currently have an issue with my AC and can't seem to find anyone with a similar issue. Basically, when I turn it on, it blows out cold air like normal, but overtime it blows out less and less air. After a couple minutes I only have this very small "breeze" of cool air coming out, which is definitely not strong enough to cool down my room. This started happening out of nowhere and I have no idea how to fix it. I drained the water out, cleaned my filters and the issue is still persisting. Note that this happens even though the room temp my AC is reading is not at the desired temp I told my AC to cool down my room to.
    If you have any idea how I can fix this, I would love your help. Thank you!

    • @Caliber8Tools
      @Caliber8Tools  9 месяцев назад

      Could be a refrigerant leak, in which case you have to find the leak by spraying soapy water on the lines to see where it’s bubbling up. If it’s minor you can patch it with Super glue. If it’s multiple holes you may have to replace the lines. Could also be the compressor, in which case you have to replace or repair that.

      -Loose drain plug, tighten it
      -Dirty filter, clean it by running water over it and scrubbing it with a brush and soap.

    Is it correct that a single hose unit is inefficient because it expels cool room air from the room? Do two-hose models do a better job because they allow cool air to remain in the room?

    • @Caliber8Tools
      @Caliber8Tools  Год назад +1

      Yes single hose units expel hot air but in doing so they create a negative pressure in the room which attracts hot air from other rooms. The 2 hose system uses one hose to expel hot air and the other sucks in outside air and cools it for the room so no negative pressure is created because the air is constantly being replaced and cooled. The 2 house system is more expensive.

That’s where the first problem started, but then it just stopped blowing any air out of the exhaust. It won’t blow hot or cold air, just nothing. Do you by chance have any ideas what that could be? • @GoogleUser-bn6gw
      @GoogleUser-bn6gw 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much for replying to my question!! My filters are totally clean so unfortunately that is not the issue. It is a Sunpentown portable air conditioner - the kind where the unit is inside the house and is vented with a large hose from the unit to a window. I hope that makes sense. It is not one of those air conditioners that cools the whole house, just one room.

    My portable AC has some burning smell when I run it. Last time I used it was a couple months ago. Is this normal? I tried to google it but couldnt find any relevant info regarding to this portable unit.

      May need maintenance. Parts may be overheating. Do not use it as there may be an electrical issue that can cause a fire.

    From where does it suck in the heat from the room?

    • @Caliber8Tools
      @Caliber8Tools  18 дней назад

      It doesn’t suck heat, as the air runs over the coils filled with refrigerant the air becomes cool. So it makes warm air cooler.

    Thanks . But that has to be one of the most inefficient and ineffective units to use. It operates at high temperature and is very noisy, not too mention how only moderately it cools.

    This is the same concept as all air conditioning system. However its good that you dismantled the ac unit so we can see they are using a compressor motor and freon gas and not ice cubes😂
