What is not mentioned is for Tips#1, Starry Night 8 SE (the latest version) requires the ASCOM drivers to control your Celestron go to mount. The S/W came with the drivers, but the drivers would not load on my Windows 11 64bit laptop. I had to search the internet for updated drivers. I had to get from ASCOM, their latest version --> ASCOM Platform 6.6 - Service Pack 1 and then the install worked.

Really confused throughout the internet - I cannot find what hardware/cables are required to connect to the Celestron. Lots of software screen shots but for me that will be much later... after I can connect. any basic direction to go here?

Manipulations with ASCOM failed - probably it does not work via WIFI at all. The software seems to be too complicated to connect and control my Celestron NextStar Evolution 9.25. I left on CPWI.
With Observe/FOV indicators/ Sessions/Observing Lists/Observation Logs greyed out, its really just a "taster". It really serves no purpose for those who purchased an expensive SE telescope. Stellarium packs more of a punch and its free, and communicates with telescopes.
Can I buy a separate eq mount for my altazimuth power seeker 50 telescope or is there any way I can add a motor guide in my altazimuth mount. Please Reply. :)

What would be nice if the offer of this software I got with my scope actually was able to be downloaded, no were on the site is it offered and no help from Celestron ..what a shame this used to be such a good company now it is just a scam group.
Too bad that the software from Celestron is not for free. I bought a Celestron NexStar 130 SLT Telescope a few years ago and it didn't come with this wonderful computer software. 😞

This is some of the worst software I have ever used. Lock-up's, does not work as sold, little or no support, and good luck trying to connect your telescope !
I'm using a chromebook... this is absolutely useless to me, I just got my telescope today and found that download code just to find out that i can't even use it.... great fucking thanks.

Skip the Celestron fork Mount. Get to go to mount from one of the other companies.

Some nebulae are visible. Bright ones like the Orion Nebula, Lagoon, Trifid, etc.
Mine said the code was already used when I tried to install it after getting the scope last spring.

What sucks about it. Doesn't work for Chromebook. Only for Windows and Apple.

The software is like a toy not helpful at all, just for fun not helpful if u have anything but a robotic scope.
