Note that there is a second change to Acidmaw. it no longer affects YOUR creatures. It used to be "When any other minion takes damage, destroy it."
He said it I'm pretty sure no?
he mentioned that for dreadscale but not acidmaw@@BunnyAce
Wild is more fun to me than standard because every class can do broken stuff, not just 2 or 3. So I'm really excited about all of this
I recently turned from standard to wild. I like just making random fun decks (that might not perform all too well) and wild offers a lot more options for that :)
I’m a returning player and I have been playing nothing but Even and Odd decks in wild. Very happy that Baku and Genn are still good.
Yes but.. In comparasment Broken stuff of Once class will always be better than anothers.
Warrior is still VERY fair in Wild, when you see what other one can do
That's true, only till gold 10/5, then it's rare to find someone who wants to have fun
@@ilbekko2860 sitting at gold 4 atm, can confirm. Decks are still different enough to make it fun though
For y'all wondering, the site has been updated with the missing information for the two missing classes. Here are the changes they both receive:
*_Paladin:_*
Silvermoon Portal 3 Mana
A Light in the Darkness *Discover* a Paladin minion. Give it +2/+2.
Keeper of Uldaman 3 Mana
Steward of Darkshire 4 Attack, 3 Health
Ivory Knight 4 Mana
Grimestreet Enforcer 4 Mana
Lay on Hands 6 Mana
Mysterious Challenger [5 Mana] 5 Attack, 5 Health
Enter the Coliseum 3 Mana
Wickerflame Burnbristle 3 Attack, 3 Health
*_Priest:_*
Hooded Acolyte Taunt. Whenever a character is healed, give your C’Thun +1/+1 (wherever it is).
Shrinkmeister Battlecry: Give a minion -3 Attack this turn.
Museum Curator Battlecry: Discover a Deathrattle card. It costs (1) less.
Darkshire Alchemist 5 Attack, 5 Health
Onyx Bishop 4 Mana
Spawn of Shadows [5 Mana] 5 Attack, 5 Health. Battlecry and Inspire: Deal 4 damage to each hero.
Convert [3 Mana] Put a copy of an enemy minion into your hand. It costs (1).
Shadowfiend [2 Mana] 2 Attack, 3 Health
Shadowbomber 3 Attack, 1 Health
Confessor Paletress Battlecry and Inspire: Summon a random Legendary minion.
Thanks, King, you dropped this. *My respect*
I was just thinking the paladin cards seemed totally wrong.
Mark is going to do some combo with flame lance calling it
Worgen Greaser is probably the very last card I would expect them to change. It's almost like a Ultrasaur buff
"If I had a Nickel for every buff Worgen Greaser got..."
Funny thing is that the first buff was only supposed to be an April Fool's prank that they were going to revert.
Can't wait to play 9 Mana Aviana again! And with a buffed C'thun? Things are looking up for wild!
We can now do Aviana - Eonar/Kun - random bs combos again
@@diffusegd tbf with Guff I expect the forgotten King to live up to his name
You are not surviving to 9 mana against wild bots, which is over 50% of the matchups lol.
Guff already provides you any combo you want, it's pretty much a better substitute for Aviana or it enables Aviana to work at 10 mana. I don't get the hype around it. It's gonna be sick in twist tho
As a returning player after many years of not playing hearthstone, im hyped to be able to play with my old collection
A keen eye will notice that the small indie company completely missed Paladin and instead posted Priest changes. They have that one C'thun card that buffs it by +1/+1 for healing, Silvermoon Portal has nothing to do with it.
You noticed that?
Wow, that's commitment.
Yeah, but not. Those were paladin cards, wtf are u talking about.
ah yes, mysterious challenger, the most famous priest card, used in the overpowered secret priest
@@tobiasnn5792 can't even tell if you're trolling or not, but just in case you're not...
They posted the changes to the Priest cards but wrote down the names of the Paladin cards next to them. So saying they posted Priest changes is perfectly accurate.
@@creepykoala7255 I'm referencing the keen eye comment at the bottom of the list of changes from Blizzard
I fucking miss C'thun decks.
I'm actually really excited for this. I know Rarran is a servant of yogg, but as a disciple of C'thun, I'm happy to see him get the prospect of a play time he deserves.
As a magic modern fan that played through Modern Horizons 1 and 2. Welcome to direct to eternal sets hearthstoners. God speed.
An important thing to remember about Twist is that it will include many of the cards that are being buffed from the Caverns of Time set. Meaning it's not going to just be a trip down memory lane, its going to be quite different. I mean Jade's are being BUFFED and they were already dominant back then.
I summon an EVEN BIGGER green man!
@@Sam-tr4cy Which allows me to summon an even larger and larger man!
Jade druid was good, Jade shaman was meh, jade rogue was terrible.
Note that your memories are likely about Mean Streets Standard with no GVG\TGT\Naxx but we'll be playing Mean streets wild
@Strongpoint_S Rogue and shaman weren't as big, but Jade Druid was a dominant deck back then. All of the jade cards are getting buffed so even Rogue and Shaman will be something to look out for.
And yeah, it's not the standard we had but I don't know how much of a difference Naxx, Blackrock Mountain and GVG will have to change the meta. Mean streets also has the singleton support cards, so I imagine it's going to be the set that really Influences the meta
@@zeleros4027 No, Jade druid wasn't dominant in the MSG meta. It was Tier 2 - Tier 3.
Standard was dominated by aggro and midrange shaman, pirate warrior, renolock, miracle and aggro rogue.
And I don't remember what was wild meta back then, but it was standard + GVG\Naxx so I don't think it was much different.
Jade Druid became way stronger after Knights of the Frozen Throne was released, mainly thanks to the broken UI
EVERYONE GET IN HE..... I MEAN READ THIS!
theres a bunch of texts there that were mixed up when he was reading them like the 2 mana 2/3 Mysterious challenger should have been a 5 mana 5/5 the correct texts are up on Blizzards site atm. all because priest was missing and paladin cards were showing the buffs to those minions.
I need to lower my expectations because I can already feel my excitement bursting out of me. This is cool, amazing even. Scrap that, it's the best thing that has happened to Wild in a long, LONG, time. I hope this will become a trend. Maybe an expansion a year. That'd already be something amazing to look forward to other than the annual un-nerfs.
I wouldn't be surprised, however, if even more things break. A card like "Totally Totems" looks scary even for a Wild card as it supports one of the already best decks in the format. If the status quo is maintained with their philosophy on balancing regarding Wild, I'm not sure if I can really enjoy myself. Some of the selected buffs make little sense to me. "Kabal Crystal Runner" is a popular card among Secret Mage players, and while it's lagging behind the competition, there are far better candidates to select for buff ( Reno and Hero Power Mage for example. ) But those are concerns for the future. It's a truly exciting time to be a Wild player!
I think their number one priority was to make the twist format FUN. This is why they are buffing totem shaman and secret mage. Those archetypes existed in that meta but they were weak.
And I do hope that they will print tech cards in this wild-only set. Something with an effect like - "destroy all totems" can't be printed in standard but it can be printed into wild to keep stuff like even shaman in check.
@@Strongpoint_S I'd appreciate good generic aoe over totem tech cuz that is more relevant against all matchups
@@deejayf69 It is not the role of tech cards, tech cards should be there to keep archetypes in check and\or help decks that are especially weak against certain archetypes
If you print a good generic AOE that is good against totem shaman, you are hurting all go wide strategies way more than totem shaman.
@@Strongpoint_S I mean, most of the meta is Aggro. It wouldn't hurt if the print good AoEs for the Wild format. Control decks need the help anyway. Most of them aren't too good.
1:26 - That is indeed wild
Man this is extremely cool and could be some incredible changes for Arena aswell, making old rotations/sets viable again
I just got into wild last night, built my first deck. Excited that it's getting such a huge over load so I'm not starting so far behind everyone else. Crafting decks is kind of frustrating because I've already disenchanted all my old cards but it is what it is
I can't wait to see Enter the Coliseum have 3 Attack and 1 Hp!
Rofl
This is gonna be the modern horizons of hearthstone and I’m worried
It's not even really comparable, due to the main strength of being a digital card game- being able to nerf or buff.
At least in HS, standard is played more than wild, while modern is maybe second most popular after Commander.
So even if it's as much of a mess as MH, the impact on the overall game will be smaller.
13:20 Hello I am one of the people that used to play this game a lot bnack in 2014 up until around 2018 (the ben brode era) and then decided to take a break from hearthstone and then randomly came back during Castle Nathria. Because getting back into standard would probably be WAY too expensive at this point I am really looking forward to the wild changes and might be interested in buying old packs to finish out my collection way back when since there is now a format for me to play all the old cards in (Twist)
Basically, old player here that is really excited to play old decks he used to play before!
Dane gonna be eating with the new wild update
my boy malourne is getting some love, as a druid lover player this makes me happy!
I wish that when talking about a card; the editor would have that card pop up on the side for context
“That’s actually kind of, wild.” 😎
My only problem with the directly to wild expansion is they are going down a path they can’t come back from… MTG did this with Modern Horizons and it has never been the same and I’m just worried…
My thoughts as well, the buffs are welcome but the expansion itself reaks of desperation money grab
but the expansion is nice for people that don't have wild cards, they are gonna need to get them somehow and buying the caverns of time set will be a lot more efficient than buying specific wild sets like gvg etc@@WeAreOutOfWeed13
God, this makes me so stoked to get back into hearthstone
I'm pretty sure some of these cards are gonna break wild. But at least they are trying so if they are willing to nerf after seeing the results I'm sure this will be an actually huge benefit for the format. (Tomb Pillager gonna be a 4 mana 6/4 with upside? That's not the most opressive card but I hope stats like that is not going to be the new norm) Tiny Night looks scary but probably I'm just scarred from the long disco lock reign.
I am afraid of worgen greaser snapping his way to my face with his newly buffed shoes
If the thing you're doing in Wild as a Rogue is playing a 6/4 with very minor upside for 4 then you are in the wrong format. At 4 mana either Kingsbane is hitting for 6+ and about to refresh, Ship's Cannon is going off, or you probably lost. Bloodsail is often a 8/3 for 2 and doesn't see much play.
@@alexherrington9142 As I said, it's not that I think that minion is scary, but the design philosophy is. Because this change signals the constant raising of the power level. Like they could simply make Inquisitive Creations or Orion a 4 mana 6/4. And they'd be arguably pretty busted. Same with Kabal Crystal Runner.
That’s actually kinda wild, bruv. 😂
Wild be eating good when this drops
0:06 based
your reaction to paladin was the best part of my day, thank you
Mark is salivating at flame lance otk
Rarran saying "imagine discard working in the current year" not knowing that a whole time period of wild was named warlockstone because discard warlock was incredibly dominant this year, and because of that tome tampering was banned and cataclysm was nerfed
my tripple c'thun deck is very happy with this.
Such Awesome stuff 👏
New players won't buy packs for the twist and it is absolutely fine.
This twist and set is for
1) Players who played that meta to enjoy the nostalgia of something like playing jade vs C'thun deck while not making it just a repeat of ancient meta
2) Wild players who entered wild after Un'goro and never had early cards or motivation to get them
The Paladin thing was so funny.
THIS IS TRULLY WILD
Ain't no way they're buffing C'Thun, I might just start playing again
This sounds like a GREAT update
Oh no, this better be some good news Rarran...
This is a really cool idea rehashing old cards and metas
I always thought, they should bring some kind of "legacy support" inside a mini set, for something like the c'thun archetype, before those things rotate out of Standard. Just 1 or 2 cards to tinker around with. Finally seeing a good step towards that is great to see. 🎉
These changes will ruin solo adventures cause the buffs will be HUGE, as well as in standard with the mage spell that get spells from the past, it can get some of these
This will actually make them better? They got easier with time since new cards the player has access are overpowered so this will balance them back up a bit
@@Dani_el_Duckthats what the person was complaining about I think, they are already way too easy, even on heroic
I might actually go back to Hearthstone for this.
I disenchanted every single wild card so I guess I will sit this one out :D
For twist. I don't have money to spend on this game. So all the older sets buy this allows me to at least be in the same boat to everyone who been playing for years
finaly a real eternal format, wild horizons hype!
I know you could do it with Guff already, but Aviana into Kun into playing basically your whole hand into Eonar into doing it again? Sounds good
I just hit legend in Wild with XL Reno priest Control, and that new dragon is already such a good include into the deck. :O
Mysterious challenger to thin deck is gonna be huge
I’m pretty sure that they accidentally combined preist and paladin : The names are paladin’s ones, but the change is explained for the preist card (that "battlecry and inspire : summon a random legendary minion" seems to be a change for confessor palatres for example)
This is basically what they did in magic when they released Modern Horizon for modern. It and Modern Horizon 2 introduced a lot of power creep that forced out a lot of cards/decks from the format. Cards from MH and MH2 have become the most played cards in the format. It also made the format extremely more expensive to play. Now HS is a little different since it’s a digital card game, but I am worried to it will completely railroad the format. I have not grinder wild in a while, so I’m not sure the state of it currently. Just worried when any card game does a direct to (specific format set). It could be an amazing breath of fresh air. Time will tell.
Barring a few cards, I feel Modern Horizons One was a genuine slam dunk. Modern Horizons Two however... ruined the format.
This is opposite to what WOC did. Modern Horizons killed old classical modern decks, making many cards forever obsolete. This one tries to revive them.
No one would seriously play a thun druid in 2023... Now, even if I don't think that it will be anywhere near tier 1, I expect it rise to a playable tier 4-3
I've been waiting for this exact Lotus Agents Buff. I've wanted Agengs to be playable for thief rogue for a while.
I've crafted Kabal Courier golden because it's goated, even at 3. Lotus agents is now getting crafted as well.
I'm a wild only player, and this is very exciting to me. So exciting that I might actually play the game a bit this year.
I enjoy wild, this is a massive gift to the old players , it's going to give some life to forgotten decks 😊
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
As a wild player it's the best thing that could happend to the game
Majority of these cards will keep being useless. Wild is raveled with turn 5 decks whether it's aggro or combo. It's exciting for twist tho but that doesn't last forever
@@projectx5154 Yeah I was too much hyped for not that much, but I still find that cool that Cthun received a huge archetype Buff, it's gonna be trash but i'm gonna try it,
Aviana might see some play
There is still like 25 NEW cards to release so that's still exciting
Yoooooooooooo, Wild Horizons!
I am *so* glad I never dust Wild cards. I've been playing since closed beta, so I'm super excited for the first season of Twist.
Hmm, I actually haven't played HS since Witchwood/Boomsday era. Maybe I should come back to play the Twist since I already have all the cards for it!
1:24
I see what ya did there
I just restarted playing hs and i spent all my dust crafting ramp druid and reno priest, i'm having fun in wild. I hope this patch will add some more stuff for control, grindy decks
Finally Blizzard showing wild players some love
I am so very glad I never disenchanted a set after it went to Wild, so I still have ALL of the cards I collected since the beginning of Hearthstone.
I'm interested in this, but I do worry about the cost of Hearthstone in general going up with this.
Is twist an old format like classic? I might reinstall HS and play it if thats the case seeing I have the cards.
Im excited for twist, because thats the meta i joined the game during. It'll be like reliving the glory days
This twist format is basically what I was looking forward to twist being. I am someone excited to play it because I dont like the direction the game has taken. Hopefully the new changes and cards wont make the game feel too much like modern HS. I would to see a shake up to an old meta, but it still keep the play style of old HS.
i think the new twist/wild changes will just help elevate content creation to help pull more people in, youve dragged me kicking and screaming back to hearthstone twice in the past 3 or so months
Oh gosh I might come back to Hearthstone just to play this Twist format for the good old days except now the cards are more exciting with the buffs.
Yeah we doing it bro! :) Finally a format worth playing.
31st? that's a nice birthday present for me as a wild player
Paladin looks to have priest changes, yeah, wickerflame burnbristle is confessor paletris
The best buff is 100% mysterious challenger! Christmas Tree Paladin is back!
Mysterious Challenger isnt actually gonna get buffed to 2 mana, they just made a mistake.
The buff to Mysterious Challenger is much milder than that: it goes from a 6/6 for 6 to a 5/5 for 5.
One reason I can imagine people playing Twist is that the meta will be completely different from Standard or Wild.
Just take C'thun for example, that package has been buffed to oblivion and still will probably not see much play in Wild, but in Twist however...
not possible, twist is a class cards only format, c'thun is neutral
@@a.r.t.8651Actually no ,the class cards only shenanigans was part of the last twist but will not be part of this one .
They actually said that this twist won't have any gameplay change apart from the expansions restrictions .
@@worgorbestloser7668 I see, my bad, I didn't read all the patch notes
They can't even balance a limited format, I'm not about to play a format that includes all of their fuckups thoughout the years
As an MTG player all I will say is that if Modern Horizons has taught me anything beware of a funny 1 mana monkey that goes straight to wild
One problem with twist is that everyone nostalgic for these old hs sets, like me, had already used their pity timers and adventures up so if you de cards so you can actually play the new hs stuff ur kinda screwed, wish I could just fuck around with a reno mage cause gagetzan was Hella fun back in the day.
The crazy thing is Worgen Greaser got turned into a 4 mana 6/5 with no downsides and is still going to be unplayable garbage. Chillwind Yeti actually in shambles.
Me thinks me's gonna have to revive my old bomb Warr now.
holy fuck they just looked at pld and said “fuck you everything changing”
FINALLY some Wild news
Feels like Standard got stale again quickly this expansion. Wild broken forever. 😂
Straight to wild printed cards and bluffs to old cards in wild is something I cannot wait for. In magic, it's been a problem because we don't have the ability to nerf cards after they are printed so the modern horizons 2 set completely changed modern vs. if something too strong is printed straight into wild, it might take a week or a month to be nerfed.
Modern Horizons? In my Hearthstone? It’s more likely than you think!
Wild is really going to be wild...
knight of the wild was dog because it was each beast you "played" (as in from hand) now any token beasts would discount it too, still not good enough because not enough beast tokens to make a 7 mana 6/6 good id think (for druid anyways) but 0 mana free sht finds a way to be good 99% of the time so maybe? aviana being 9 mana again but only for wild so it doesnt matter because guff lel, acidmaw being 1) buffed to 3 mana instead of 7, and 2) only affecting enemies is dope (but useless probably, even for my meme renohunter that doesnt work anymore because the game is too fast)
honestly a lot of interesting changes, but how many of them matter? idk... also flamelance dealing 25 just makes me imagine the combo with giving your opponent the 1/4 that sends its damage face via silas darkmoon (not a good combo in wild tbf)
I play wild 95% of the time, because I often take breaks and then come back every once in a while and I like being able to play whatever I feel like at the time
Exciting
OH YEAH C'THUN IS VIABLE AGAIN
totally totems at discount, into biolumin and get +6 spell damage is kinda cool, too slow for the current frog/burn shaman but still interesting
SPELLPOWER TOTEM IS BACK, BOYS!
1:24 thats literally Wild
Lets fucking gooioiii
Yeah that's really cool, when exactly will we nerf druids in wild? Just curious about that.
Aviana my beloved
8 mana C’thun? I guess Battlecry quest C’thun shaman will be a thing if C’thun’s ability stays as is.
It already was a thing, you could just play the guy that lowered the cost of your next hp to 0
I quit hearthstone a long time ago (rise of shadows), but I might actually reinstall just to play twist, since I played since launch and it's going to be the closest I can get to reliving 2016 era.
YOOO MANWYRM AT 3 HEALTH WE'RE SO FCKING BACK
If the aviana was the only change for Druid it would still make them have the best changes in wild. That’s crazy
With Guff I don't really see it being that huge an impact. Druid could already do crazy shit in wild with Aviana due to having 20 mana available.
but Guff isn't in the sets that are gonna be in twist@@ruukinen
@@theancientone1616 First of all, OP was talking bout wild. Secondly, Aviana was 9 mana back in the day, there are plenty of cards that were changed that have never been as strong as they are now going to be.
Is this going to break duels? I don't play wild, but I do dabble on some sociopathic duels experiences
Makes sense to add content to wild, if they want to make Twist a thing.
If only I didnt have to pay again to preorder
As a ex hearthstone player who primarily played wild (cause too poor to buy new expansions). I must resist!
I think I disenchanted Anub'arak and Acidmaw back in the day :c
