This is sick. Couldn't figure out a decent way to do this. Turns out I was using the wrong pitch block. Can't wait to try this tonight and see if I can take my drop tune pedal off my pedalboard!
The Force is strong with this one!!!! I was just thinking I'd have to go figure out how to do this after playing on the weekend with singers who selected weird keys :) Awesome as usual man.
Great tip, Leon. Thanks! I've been playing with this in Drop C# and single note phrases sound... odd. I dropped the high cut down to 4k and it improved but I lose a lot of sustain. It's certainly usable for jamming out at home without re-tuning. Thanks again.
Thank you Leon. I realize this is old video but alot of this applies to Axe FX II. Is there a way I can globally effect my rigs to turn pitch block on and off if its linked across rigs. So far I found that I can globally change pitch setting but cant turn pitch on/off across all my rigs when their all linked. Its a pain during a live situation to turn the pitch block back on when I change rigs. Thanks for any help.
Is there a way to tune the guitar down slightly, like by 20 cents or anything like that. I know playing along with some songs the tuning is slightly sharp, & not 100% E, E Flat, D etc, built just slightly sharp due to tape speed during the recording of the album. It would be great to have that 10 cent detune Def Leppard patch hahaha
Are there any parameters where you could make your guitar an open tuning? In other words, can you increase and decrease the different strings to sound like an open tuning? If the AX can do that I'll grateful!
So there is a bit of lag in the tracking when you detune the guitar, a few semi-tones above OR below. Is there a parameter control to try and remedy this a bit better? Or are we at the mercy of the AX8. I noticed that I tend to lose gain/saturation on my guitar as I tune down. The most I tune down is -3 for one song we do live.
Having the CPU at 50% or less helps. Set your cab to standard res and reverb quality to normal and it will help a little, but that really is pushing the limits of the unit.
Just got my AX8. With all your tutorials I feel much better! Thanks mate!🤘
Stoked to hear they're helping :)

Let me know if it works!
Just did it. There is a touch of latency but it isnt bad at all. I am gonna try it at the next show, and Maybe do a video about it. Thanks!
Awesome. I noticed the latency but for a song or two live I've found it's fine; for the time it saves in setup it's worth it IMO.
Great Sir really loved it. Simply Amazing

Thanks even after all this time with my Axe FX II, this helped me figure this out! Thanks Leon!

Exactly what I was looking for - thank you Leon! :)
Hey Leon, Amazing tutorial? Could you or anyone tell the pitch settings I would need to go Half step down ?
Would be a big help!

Thank you for the video!
My pleasure!
Thanks for this. It’s really handy!
Thank you, I was using the wrong whammy function. Perfect to jam with some EVH or Jimi.
Very cool. So, if you are tuned in E, minus 1 would E-flat?
Correct

No. You'd need a split pickup and processor like the Roland GK
awesome, DigiTech drop pedal into the AX8 is way better though. currently using it with 0 tracking issues
Thanks for info. I was wondering how Digitech Drop would work with AX8. Good to know It is OK.
Wow, how clever!
Dude your tone is amazing
Can you share your tone secret, love to have this patch
Thanks. I've done a video breakdown of this patch on my channel with the preset linked, have a scroll through my AX8 tutorials playlist :)

Pitch wahmmy setting (thank you)
Hi Leon. So instead of acutally tuning my guitar say to drop D. I could simulate that tuning through the Ax8 ?
It will tune your guitar down a whole step (EADBE -> DGCFAD) but won't take you from standard to drop D (EADBE -> DADGBE).
Does it still track with other effects added. ? Maybe a little reverb?
The tracking performs much better when the CPU usage is low.
Does the pitch block add any latency?
please let us know. I have the feeling there is a light latency sometimes...
its there... but its so small... its crazy. i never detune my guitars anymore, its crazy
A Lot
WOW so Ad. Whammy is the key for this!!!
