    Regardless of your political views, David Cameron knows how to talk.

    The banking crisis and subsequent recession was brought about by American banks giving over-priced mortgages to people who couldn't possibly pay them back. How, by any standards, is this at all the fault of the Labour government?
    Labour presided over one of the most successful and sustained periods of economic growth (2000-2008), low inflation and low unemployment.
    And compared to other countries, especially France and the US, Labour's borrowing was positively moderate.

    He's not. He rarely turns up to European meetings as it is.
    If you vote Greens, fair enough. Step up from UKIP, that's for sure.

    Cameron's economic policies worked, unemployment fell from 9% to 5%, and Miliband looked dumb a couple years after this.

    Isn't Miliband a proponent of "Blue Labour"?
    I dunno, just trying to figure that out.

    "Too far too fast" - again and again! This is getting boring now Ed Mili, why not let us hear your austerity package!? If Cameron changed course on our economy then he would still be criticised and accused for being weak and uncertain by Labour so its a lost leader. Cameron has a plan, Its tough plan but its coherent and Cameron is strong unlike Ed Mili. Ed goes on about fairness etc but where is the money coming from? where will he make cuts!? To deliver a fairer society you need to make cuts!?

  • @Supersmooth007
    @Supersmooth007 12 лет назад

    Ed Milibands favourite quote "Too far & too fast!" - Will he be saying this for another 3 yrs!? Come on Ed Miliband sort yourself out! At least Cameron knows what hes talking about and has a coherent plan. Labour dont have a plan and last week this confirmed my suspicions as Labour said they would not reverse the cuts, because they do not know what our economy would be like & they would blame this mess caused by the Coalition! All of last year & before Labour said they would cut VAT temporary!!

    I don't think that anyone would agree that the level of debt we found ourselves in is at all acceptable, but equally, the debt didn't cause the crisis; the crisis (through lack of economic growth) exacerbated the impact of the debt.

    The other MPs stand to notify the Speaker that they want to talk themselves.
    If they stand, it means they have a response to give.

  • @adamps16

    I'm not the biggest fan of David Cameron, but Labour has got to get rid of Ed Miliband if they want to win another election. All we ever hear from Labour is criticisms of the coalition policies, yet never hear any audible alternatives. Labour are still the same self destructive party they were when Brown was Prime Minister.

  • @BasilFawlty4444
    @BasilFawlty4444 12 лет назад

    Actually, there's unemployment becuase there is a recession, which was no fault of the Labour government.
    Under Labour, unemployment went down from around 10% in the mid-1990s to less than 5% in the mid-00s. Even during this, the worst recession since the 30s, it hasn't exceeded 10% again.
    Let's not forget Labour's achievements in other fields.
    Also, Brown didn't "spend the country dry." Compared to other developed countries, esp the US and France, Labour's borrowing was actually very moderate.

    Cut peoples benefits to get them back to work (fair enough). THEN TAKE AWAY EVERYONES JOB! It makes no sense. He relys on private companys to employ (fair enough). BUT THEY ARE NOT EMPLOYING! Cameron needs to have a talk with himself, he's not at eton anymore, this is the real world!

    The problem with cuts is that the poor will have less money to spend, the less money to spend, the less demand will be created, and without demand less jobs will be necessary, creating more poor and lowering jobs available. Little bit of Keynesian and/or Marxist theory.

    What I hate about David Cameron...is this idea "that he's the best" Because he's not.
    He is cutting the whole benefits system in this country yet there is the EU deal where thousands of immigrants come in and take the jobs that the working class are entitled to from birth (Those with no qualifications) What's the sense in that? He also has the cheek to say that British people are lazy and they wouldn't take the jobs. He isn't trying to get us out of debt. Just hitting the poor people with hate
