  • Speed Jigging Vs. Slow Pitch Jigging | Offshore Fishing | Crazy Amber Jack Bite | Deep Sea Fishing
We linked up with Victor from Land Shark and Ryan Morie in hopes of deep dropping. When that did not work out we moved into the 300' range started getting tight immediately. This day was nonstop action crushing fish on the speed jig and the slow pitch jig. You can check out 2 more perspectives on this day of fishing by heading over to my friends channels in the link below.

Kingfish/Amberjack - school fish. When you see them swim under bait ball and active, when one person hook up, don't jig the fish up so fast, everyone drops the jig and start speed jigging, usually rest of guys will hook up

Johnny, you're one of the first RUclipsrs that stop and explain and dont cut out how you are jigging. That's great for all of us offshore begginner jiggers to understand how to get better results. Well done!

What is your basic rule of thumb on how many grams the lure should be to match the depth for best results when it comes to slow and fast jigging? Is my chart below a good reference?
    Lures 100g - 190g / Depth: 30m (100ft)
    Lures 200g - 299g / Depth: 60m (200ft)
    Lures 300g - 399g / Depth: 91m (300ft)
    Lures 400g - 499g / Depth: 121m (400ft)
    Lures 500g - 599g / Depth: 152m (500ft)
    Lures 600g - 699g / Depth: 182m (600ft)

In tradition ebbing a jig is used, not a weight. The jig brings the fish in and then they eat the tasty little shrimp

Should have brought a drift anchor to slow you down so you could jig out deep. Buckets work in a pinch

100% we use them often. Love the bucket suggestion as well. This day wasn't going happen in the deep water no matter what we did.😪 Way too fast SOG
