I don’t think I have ever seen a technician so thorough clean a machine, and I observed for many years. Great job and thank you.

I pulled my Singer Simple from the storage shed (it was in there a few years) and saw that it was so dusty! Thank you so much for this video. It looks brand new again :)

Thank you Sewing Machine Repair Guy,
I took apart my Singer Simple with the aid of your video.
Cleaned and put back together with all the screws, none left over.
My feed dogs were full of fluff and that was a feed skipping -- stationary fabric , big thread knots .
Cleaned inside and outside, looks better and works great again.

I decided to pull my grandma's singer out of the attic and wanted to give it a thorough going over before sewing with it. This helped!

Add more commentary for newbies. We know most of your products but newbies might not. Commentary like what bobbin that was, how do you recognize it's the wrong one and what's the right one. Update, I finished cleaning my eBay buy Singer Serger Quantumlock 14u285, I'm going to oil it like you showed and wait on my hard to find needle clamp part. Can't wait to run my first bead. Thanks to you I have the confidence to get this machine running if I can find the parts.

After this video will try to fix my machine same one, have been trouble shooting there is a loud tight squeak and the bottom thread in the bobbin gets caught when u pull it out it is more like 4 strands instead of one. Have tried 4 bobbins and cleaned that area and reassembled. thanks for the demo

Just subbed to your channel after bumping into your video on rat's nests under the fabric. Thank you for that informative look into trouble shooting. This machine, the Singer Simple, certainly isn't very simple underneath all that plastic case, is it! Take care!

I have this machine and I love it bc my husband brought for my birthday yrs ago. It needs repairs and maintenance. I can take it to a shop but I’d really like to learn to do it myself. Thanks for the video but once I pull it apart I’m not sure what to do next. Not sure what to look for and how to adjust the machine. Wish this video was more informative and detailed. But thank you.

I appreciate your videol I will try this. I have an 8280 and it sounds like metal crashing, grinding, destruction at the bobbin area.

I have a new Singer model 2277 Tradition machine and can't get it to stitch the sample piece I have doubled up and placed under the plate and have checked everything I can think of to get the machine to stitch like it should with no improvement. I am wondering if it could be a company problem which causes this problem since I can't find any help online for this problem of the thread not stitching the material.

most of my machines are really old , 70's & 80's models , many are used for teaching free volunteer, that means I can't afford to pay for the upkeep, I have singers, kenmore , Brother & White machines , Hoping to find videos on these types including replacement of motors , believe the Singer Fabricmate has gotten tired, motor is inside the housing, don't know if it can be replaced or how i would start with doing that. the older machines with the motor housing exterior on the machine looks more manageable for if I were to replace any of those

Hi there. I followed you over from Andy Tube. Good old Krud Kutter, right? That stuff is awesome. What is the stuff in the apricot colored bottle? I could have used a little more narration, especially when you had the machine on its back, turning the handwheel and looking at the needle and the bobbin. I’m guessing you were checking the needle bar timing? Also curious how long it took in real time to service the machine. Thank you for an informative video.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been using denatured alcohol to clean machines, since isopropyl is hard to get right now. Also, there are a lot of people that need the isopropyl more than I do.

You can slow the video down and see what he's doing.
      Here's what you do:
From my phone: inside the video player (upper right corner) there are 3 dots. That's where your video settings are. Click on that. Choose playback speed. Normal speed is in the middle. Slower speeds above. Faster speeds below. Choose the speed you want.
Hope this helps ypu. I use it a lot.
(On a computer I think that settings is under the video player. Can't remember but if you are on a computer just move your mouse around and look for it. It's there somewhere)

New subscriber since a few weeks ago. I've been watching your videos and man am I thankful I found you. I appreciate you a lot.
You said this machine has the wrong kind of bobbin. I didn't know there were different types. I have and older machine I don't use. I took it's bobbins and threw them in the drawer with my new machines bobbins.
How can I tell if a bobbin is right or wrong for my machine?

    • @kimberlycooper4170
      @kimberlycooper4170 3 года назад +2

Look up the sewing machine's owner manual online. That manual should tell you what kind of bobbin to use. You can buy more bobbins at a fabric store or sewing machine store.

I have a question that maybe you can help me with. I have a Singer Simple 2263 that I am going over for a friend of mine. It turns rather tight and I found several things that need fixing. The Crank Connecting Rod is very tight and I can't seem to open the cover to get in there and clean and lubricate things as they should be. How do you handle this problem when you see these machines? Then I have a problem with the Zig Zag adjustment dial and the Needle not centering on Zero. It slides into the center on 2. How can I adjust that whole assembly so things work properly? Any help you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thank You for your Videos and your help!
