You have no idea how close the "welcome to the insane asylum" comment hits ^^ Kaizers created this whole world with their songs. A mafia, an insane asylum with it's own doctor (who has his own song, btw), a rebellion, not to mention the newest trilogy with the "Violetta" world. It's pretty amazing, actually.
I'm from Scotland but seen these guys at Trädgårn in Gothenburg in 2008. Blew my mind, been a fan ever since. They are not of this world musically, so good.

I've watched Kaizers Orchestra live 5 times and every concert were mind blowing. Their live performance was always fantastic. Janove was the perfect frontman of this band of great and skilled musicians with a charming charisma and impressive stage presence. There is only one thing that I don't like about Kaizers Orchestra is that they decided to quit. I miss them deeply.
@@barmhjertige1 Yes, it looks that way. I've registered and just hoping. I introduced Kaizers Orchestra for my son a couple of years ago and he loves them too. Kaizers Orchestra was absolutely FANTASTIC live. The studio albums were brilliant and they were my entire youth, but actually in concert they were the next level. Someone has probably already said this, but in case not: the "drums" sound so deep in the breakdown because the guitarists are actually hitting 50 gallon drums with (a) a wrecking bar (b) a hammer and (c) a broken headstock of a guitar! Plus theres a tire rim that makes a loud, high pitched ding sound
Yeeees. I was there in that crowd. It's from Vega in Copenhagen. Kaizers are Norwegian but were very popular throughout Scandinavia. I saw them 8 times in Denmark - each of them an unbelievable party like nothing else. And not just because of the showmanship. If you dive into their back catalogue there are tons of genuinely brilliant songs there. Wonderful band. Miss them so much. A night out with Kaizers on stage would be the perfect antidote to Covid-isolation.
I've seen your video a few times now, and I love it. I've been a kaizersfan since the beginning when I was a young teeanger. No many people at my age digged this, and did'nt buy in to the whole circus/carnival thing. I really dislike reaction videos, but yours was like a showing Kaizers to a friend, AND THEY JUST GET IT THE FIRST TIME. Everything you said was spot on! I am really impressed. A lot of people needs a few listens. Love from Denmark
So, first of all - FINALLY Kaizers made it through to this channel! I'm really glad someone mentioned them on Instagram! Now, a couple of things: 1. Kontrol comes from their first album - and, ironically, they were panned by some critics and called uninspired Tom Waits on crack. Quite funny when you see they became one of the most important rock bands in Norway with subsequent releases. 2. This comes from Live at Vega (if I'm not mistaken) - their first tour. They evolved with time but, initially, they were just a bunch of misfits with Janove (the vocalist) just going dead drunk on stage. 3. The name of the keyboardist is not 250 Prosent, it's Helge. And Oyvind plays double bass, not cello :P 4. Sadly you can't see them doing one of their trademark stuff which is using barrels for playing - you can check, for instance, Bak et Hallelujah or Ompa til du dor. When asked why masks and barrels, Janove's response was: "because it's fun and different". Oh well. 5. And the bad thing is - they're on hiatus - Janove and Geir (the black-hair guitarist) focused on writing an opera whereas Terje (the blond guitarist) focused on his own band. Which leads me to point 6: 6. You must also check Skambankt - Terje's band - the guy has an amazing, raspy vocal. Also this goodbye - neat!
Chiming in to say that Janove and Geir aren't exactly working on an "opera", they're trying to turn the Violeta trilogy into a stage musical. Also Janove has been working on his solo career, releasing 2 albums and 2 eps, with the next album coming out next fall (Det Sorte Karneval). He also wrote a symphonic piece with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Geir just recently release his first album in 10 years!
Cool reaction! FYI: This a tour after their third album Maestro. They were not known for Janove going drunk on stage - they had a really good live reputation already in 2001:) The Vega-concert was in 2005.
A few notes to your notes: 1. Their first album, Ompa til du dør, (released 2001) was a smash hit in Norway, selling more than 100.000 in Norway (and that's a lot in Norway, with around 5,5 million people), the best selling rock debut record in Norway (in Norwegian at least). Maybe a few critics weren't fans, but they must have been quite few and alone. 2. Vega is a venue in Denmark, not huge, but also not the smallest. You don't release a hit album and then... don't go on tour, but wait 5 years and 2 additional albums, and THEN go abroad to record a live album ;). I can guarantee you that this tour was not their first. They had been touring heavily after the release of Ompa, and in the years after. I saw them at festivals in Denmark in the summer of 2002 and 2003 - and all together 10 times from 2002-2013, since it's one of the best live bands I've ever seen :). 3.: I, personally, was a bit on the tipsy side the first time I saw them (and it was wonderful!), but they didn't seem drunk, and I've never had the impression that they were "dead drunk" on stage, not once. They might have been smoking cigarettes and drinking (I've seen a glass of wine and a pint of beer) on stage, but never came across drunk and unprofessional. BUT the most important thing is that they were FANTASTIC live, and that spreading the word about them means spreading joy, even if people won't get to experience them first hand :).
I love that you reacted to them. They're incredible, and seeing them in concert was just amazing. Janove, the singer, had complete control of the audience and they basically did anything he told them. You said he played on pots and pans, which is close to true, they used oil barrels and car parts as instruments. They also started out deciding they were going to be Norway's best live band, and then working hard to achieve that, and when they were at their height they definitely were the best live band we had. Also, despite singing in a Norwegian dialect they actually had some success in countries where people don't understand Norwegian, which is quite cool. This was fun.
It´s fun to see you react to this. Kaizers were a bit of an odd band, but that´s what was great about them. Another great norwegian band from the same era is Katzenjammer. 4 multi instrumentalists going balls, or ovaries in their case, to the wall with their weirdo circus rock.

Sigrid, Astrid S, Aurora.. even Röyksopp I can understand that someone outside of Norway would listen to, but Kaizers? I think it's pretty cool that a non- Norwegian would check them out!
i dont remember how a found them but they are my favorite band, i am mexican and i know like 3 words in norwegian wich is sad because there were almost all their firts albums songs with english subtitles on youtube but for some reason the are gone and i loved the lyrics, of course in spanish is even less content xD, i want to learn norwegian just to know what their others songs are about, something about just coping and pasting the lyrics in google translate doesnt feel good
I discovered these guys in 2005 randomly when I was studying abroad in Berlin. Walked into a CD store and the cover of their album Maestro caught my eye. Gave a few tracks a listen, and I said "I think I need to buy this." Fell absolutely in love with all their music, and they are one of my all-time favorite bands to this day, even though I can barely understand any of the lyrics. 😆
The norwegian rockband Kaizers Orchestras so far last concert (over 3 hours) before they took a indefinite hiatus and it may looks like the hiatus has come to an end. "Norwegian storm trooping tarantellas with savage rhythms and innovative textures. Thinking man's circus music. Way out." (Tom Waits) The rumors surrounding a Kaizers reunion has gained a lot of legs to stand on in recent months and I would say it started when Kaizers guitarist Terje Winterstø Røthing and his band Skambankt announced their farewell tour (their final concert is this friday) earlier this year, vocalist Janove has just finished a solo tour but what really triggered that got the rumors going was when Kaizers Orchestra found an old box of merch when, for some reason, they were moving their warehouse from Oslo to Stavanger. Kaizers gave away an unopened box of t-shirts to various Fretex stores (all sold out) and some fans were aware that there was something special about the t-shirts and that was that there was a qr code on them and the code led to a mysterious website called Dine gamle dager er nå which means Your old days are now which consists of little or nothing other than a design that looks like the artwork on the Violeta Violeta albums, a form where you have to write your name, your phone number (with country code) and email address and a explanation of they need the information to provide you with important information that will arrive shortly. On the website there is also a music box that plays a Kaizer-like melody and many Kaizer fans wonder if this could be a new song, some fans have even received this music box physically at the door delivered by a postman without understanding why but a common denominator seems to be that the fans who have received the music box have also ordered a very limited special edition of the debut album Ompa til du dør earlier this year. The website also has an instagram where a few people get an Instastory from Dine gamle dager er nå and it so far consists of what looks like a steam locomotive, a chandelier, the music box, an old heart monitor and a man with a hat and coat and where you barely can see the picture of Martin Luther which used to be on Kaizers' pump organ and the same mysterious figure is wandering in what to me looks like a sewer but it can be a mine and the same figure then arrived a cathedral and today a welder appeared on the Instastory . 107 is a number that goes through but nobody quite knows what it is, whether it was 107 t-shirts, 107 music boxes, whether the vinyl in the special edition weighs 107 grams, whether Kaizers Orchestra has 107 songs in total, whether 107 is a date (July 10 or October 7) or whether 107 is the number of months Kaizers Orchestra last gave fans a sign of life in the form of the single Stjerner i posisjon on Christmas Eve 2013 With the music box or the special edition of Ompa til du dør, a letter has arrived from Mr. Kaizer from Lyder Sagens 45 (not an actual address) in Bergen and it says so in bulgarian Think big. Stop. Dream hard. Stop. Wait for signal. Stop. Please be patient. Stop. The website also says: "There are many ways in here. Some give greater rewards than others" ruclips.net/video/x8L8uSGWzdc/видео.html
First time I heard about them was about a year ago. Since then I have this almost on stop in my car. I have an EV, so the sound is pretty clear. Put it this way: the car is in sneak mode but people hear me coming. 😅 The kicker is that I moved to Norway in 2009 and could have been to a live concert, but my husband is not into them, so I had to have a chat with his super cool uncle to find out about this gem of a band. 🤦♀️
I saw these guys live two weeks ago as part of their reunion tour. They're all almost in their 50's now, but they're as energetic and crazy as ever, and they were amazing live.
This concert was shot in Vega, Copenhagen - but danes loves Kaizers Orchestra and understands most norwegians. I watched their Farewell Concert in Vega in 2013 and it was amazing. Janove is the greatest singer-so versatile. ❤❤❤
Great reaction! At their peak, one of the very best live acts around. This concert (VEGA) is absolutely fantastic from start to finsih. For a later version of the band, please react to Kaizer's Orchestra's incredible performance of "Begravelsespolka" (Polka Funeral) from a Christmas show in Denmark...in which lead singer is portraying the Devil himself. Audience has no idea what hit them. : ruclips.net/video/7NuesIA_EK4/видео.html
I stumbled upon this video by chance (thank you algorithm) and it really brought a smile to my day. I first encountered them in at very small venue in Sweden in 2003. There were like 60 people in the audience, and I had no idea what to expect, but I was in love after the first song. I don´t know if you've reacted to any of their other songs, but if not, I am very sorry that you missed the oil barrel/crowbar solos.
so fun to see someone react to these guys. i`m from where the band started, they even have a little spot here named after them. i would recommend "170", "Bris" or "hjerteknuser" for first time listeners, but kontroll på kontinentet sure is a fun place to start.
Listened to Kaizers for the first time about 15 years ago. My brother had downloaded a few tracks to prepare for a festival he was going to. I just thought "what's this?" and clicked on the unknown mp4 file. Instant love, it was as if I instantly knew, this was the best band I had ever heard. Mind you, my brother do not like them, but I've been following them since then, watched them live twice. They are so awesome.
Ok this channel is officially amazing! I’m a long time Kaizers fan, Kpop fan (ARMY) and this is just.. I never thought I’d get to see an reaction to them on here so long after their disbandment! 🥰🥰🥰
Knowing kaizers orchestra, the drums which sounds like pots and pans are probably that. Or ashtray, lighting pole and oil-barrel. They split up in around 12/13/14 btw, so sadly no chance of seeing them live.
I just caught this video because Kaizers linked to it. The video you just saw, well, saw 4 months ago, is from Vega, the absolute best live venue in Copenhagen. That concert, that night, in Vega was legendary. Kaizers, though from Norway, have, had, a real affinity to Vega, and the Danish Kaizer fans LOVE them. It’s a concert that is something that has to be experienced. That night in Vega. Damn. Were you there?
and the probably mix of Danish and german audience, knows the Norwegian lyrics - It would be great if Jan Ove Ottesen put the band together again for one last tour
my opinion: THE BEST LIVE-BAND EVER! they got soo many good , energetic, fantastic and mood creating songs that ... "u should have been there" kind of thing. The tickets for the come back tour 2023 was sold out in... 93 seconds or so.. I SOOOOO enjoy the music of KAIZERS ORCHESTRA!
Hah, "welcome to the insane asylum", absolutely. They have multiple songs on being both a patient and the doctor at their insane asylum. Happy that their theme is translating!
Fun fact - the vocalist is a teacher. They started playing on the streets while studying. If you want to hear his vocals better I suggest you search his solo work up. Another fun fact - they made a musical from all the lyrics made in Kaizer orchestra. Cause put together they make up a story line
It truly was a unique band that no longer exists. But if you liked them, I will recommend their farewell concert in 2013 together with 4-5000 of their faithful fans. The concert lasts for more than 3 hours featuring a lot of their songs. The start is something you seldom see with the leader of the band directing the cheering of the crowd, then starting with the first word of the song while the audience completes the line. And in the 3rd last song the vocalist may sit down smoking a cigar while the audience takes over his part - even after the band stops playing! - leading the band to give another extra before they finish - and "it is not over until the fat lady sings" (title of the last song). ruclips.net/video/GCF4vaoxxQM/видео.html
Kaizers are legendary! Not ONE song of theirs I wouldn’t be entertained or impressed by. I think the punchy voice is somewhat due to his norwegian dialect, it’s one of the more punchy ones we have and I’d actually rather hear him sing than talk 😄
Wow i did not expect to see anything like this ever! I think "Dieter Meyers Inst." And "Mr kaizers, hans constense og meg" are my favourites by them. Yoi should check them out!
im doing an analysis of this song for school, your input helped thanks! also doing a song called "sekskløver" from their last album violeta violeta vol 3 and comparing the two songs and commenting on the band's growth musically
I saw them 6 times. The last time wast the last concert they ever did (for now). Blown away every time, but especially the last one. I was about to pass out in the end. Jesus christ.
Eg blei spurt om å ta hånd om Roselyn På St. Peters Plass en kveld i Aberdeen På et tidspunkt såg det lyst ut for oss to men lampen gjekk tom for parafin.
If you're looking to get tickets for Kaizers, they just announced their comeback this week, with concerts running from sept 1st. 80000 tickets (all of them) were sold out in less than two hours, so you'll have to fight some Norwegians for them :P I managed to snag two for the very first show and can't wait to once again be in the world of Kaizers \m/
"It's like Tom Waits on a really great acid trip". Ookay, never tried acid but Kaizers live was insane fun. When U don't find the time to get another beer, it's just crazy, fun and VERY sweatty.
Yes! Kaizers are amazing! If you want to listen to more alt rock popular music from Norway you should check out Gåte! Their music is based on traditional norwegian folksongs and music, and Gunnhild, the main vocalist, has an amazing voice. I think you would really enjoy their music. Here's "Knut liten og Sylvelin" :) ruclips.net/video/Mg-EljuIWMQ/видео.html
They were/are so popular, that this is a crowd that most likely doesn't even speak Norwegian lol, well okay Janove's dialect is fairly easy to understand for Danes, but still!
You spotted their rap influence straight away. Jan Ove has complained in interviews that they keep being compared to other bands, some they never heard of, but no journalist ever mentions rap, which is one of their biggest inflences. But you spotted it.
One must be a man to wear my hat One must be cold-hearted to obtain my power One must be a size 42 to wear my shoes But he has to have his own pistol

The rumors surrounding a Kaizers reunion has gained a lot of legs to stand on in recent months and I would say it started when Kaizers guitarist Terje Winterstø Røthing and his band Skambankt announced their farewell tour (their final concert is this friday) earlier this year, vocalist Janove has just finished a solo tour but what really triggered that got the rumors going was when Kaizers Orchestra found an old box of merch when, for some reason, they were moving their warehouse from Oslo to Stavanger.
107 is a number that goes through but nobody quite knows what it is, whether it was 107 t-shirts, 107 music boxes, whether the vinyl in the special edition weighs 107 grams, whether Kaizers Orchestra has 107 songs in total, whether 107 is a date (July 10 or October 7) or whether 107 is the number of months Kaizers Orchestra last gave fans a sign of life in the form of the single Stjerner i posisjon on Christmas Eve 2013
With the music box or the special edition of Ompa til du dør, a letter has arrived from Mr. Kaizer from Lyder Sagens 45 (not an actual address) in Bergen and it says so in bulgarian
Think big. Stop.
Dream hard. Stop.
Wait for signal. Stop.
Please be patient. Stop.
The website also says: "There are many ways in here. Some give greater rewards than others" ruclips.net/video/x8L8uSGWzdc/видео.html
First time I heard about them was about a year ago. Since then I have this almost on stop in my car. I have an EV, so the sound is pretty clear. Put it this way: the car is in sneak mode but people hear me coming. 😅
The kicker is that I moved to Norway in 2009 and could have been to a live concert, but my husband is not into them, so I had to have a chat with his super cool uncle to find out about this gem of a band. 🤦♀️
i fell in love with this band over the dark lyrics and the somewhat humouristic approach.. seriously.. read the lyrics
I saw these guys live two weeks ago as part of their reunion tour. They're all almost in their 50's now, but they're as energetic and crazy as ever, and they were amazing live.
I love how the analysis adds a dimension and is increasing my love for this band, which I've known for 20 years! Good job Sam!
Awesome video! I miss them so much, they were the greatest live band out there!
They just annonced their comeback today. Tickets out 11.11!
'I'm turning this up!' 😂😂😂😂
You should check out more from them 😉
and the probably mix of Danish and german audience, knows the Norwegian lyrics - It would be great if Jan Ove Ottesen put the band together again for one last tour
I would give so much to see them live even just one more time.
They just reunited with 16 new shows next year!
Would totally recommend listening to some of their newer songs as well, especially tusen drapper regn or hjerteknuser!
You put into words why I love this band sooo much. Who needs drugs when you can have Kaizer's Orchestra! (or you can have both, lol)
my opinion: THE BEST LIVE-BAND EVER! they got soo many good , energetic, fantastic and mood creating songs that ...
KAIZEEEEEERS!!! greets from Berlin! Love them so much!
What you've analyzed is soooooo cool. Thanks for that - love them, of course ❤️😊👍🎼🎶
I saw Kaizers in Oslo the final time they played there. It was an awesome show. Few bands can equal their energy and showmanship.
Would love for you to watch some other Kaizers performances
Best live band. I saw them 18 times ❤
So fun, someone reacting to good old Kaizers! 😁❤
Gode gamle 🤩
Oh, I fucking miss them :(
@@Kitti_B Well, you're in luck ;) The reunion is coming!
@@thanossnap4170 I know! I have tickets to two of their gigs in Oslo 😁
Kaizers Orchestra was great. To bad I never got around to see them live.
I saw them 6 times. The last time wast the last concert they ever did (for now). Blown away every time, but especially the last one. I was about to pass out in the end. Jesus christ.
They might be my favorite live band I've ever seen. they bring incredible energy every time
I feel you. I definitely had the chance to go to several of their shows back then, but I never got around to it.
I saw them live 4 times and unfortunately, none of these were in Norway :(
They're back! You can see them live, if you want!
Kaizers are coming back next year 🎉 All 16 conserts sold out the same day tickets released
Eg blei spurt om å ta hånd om Roselyn
På St. Peters Plass en kveld i Aberdeen
På et tidspunkt såg det lyst ut for oss to
men lampen gjekk tom for parafin.
And now they are back 🥰🙏
they linked this on their fb page, very nice video !
Kaizers were amazing! Maybe Katzenjammer could be the next Norwegian band on her?
Oh, I miss them so much ❤️❤️😢
"It's like Tom Waits on a really great acid trip".
Ookay, never tried acid but Kaizers live was insane fun. When U don't find the time to get another beer, it's just crazy, fun and VERY sweatty.
Just found this video.. and uh, kaizers orchestra is back!!!
Yes! Kaizers are amazing! If you want to listen to more alt rock popular music from Norway you should check out Gåte! Their music is based on traditional norwegian folksongs and music, and Gunnhild, the main vocalist, has an amazing voice. I think you would really enjoy their music.
Here's "Knut liten og Sylvelin" :)
ruclips.net/video/Mg-EljuIWMQ/видео.html
Best live band I ever saw.
They were/are so popular, that this is a crowd that most likely doesn't even speak Norwegian lol, well okay Janove's dialect is fairly easy to understand for Danes, but still!
"The drums sounds like pots and pans" - Because some of them are. =)
Kaizers are just... Kaizers, and I love them! If you like this, you might also enjoy Major Parkinson: ruclips.net/video/Hw1qjA84aUk/видео.html
Biggest band in Norway, and they're making a COMEBACK!
Its a norwegian band - conncert in germany
You spotted their rap influence straight away. Jan Ove has complained in interviews that they keep being compared to other bands, some they never heard of, but no journalist ever mentions rap, which is one of their biggest inflences.
But you spotted it.
Kaizers are BACK !!!
Love your reaction.
Please react to Mamamoo Dingga and Aya.
Please react these songs:
RBD Fuera Live in Rio
RBD A Tu Lado Live in Rio
RBD i Wanna Be The Rain Live in Brasília
RBD Ser O Parecer Live in Rio
One must be a man to wear my hat
One must be cold-hearted to obtain my power
One must be a size 42 to wear my shoes
But he has to have his own pistol
Because you know what's stated in the will
And you know what's stated in the will
That the one who takes care of my Constanze
Gets my hat, gets my shoes, gets my extravaganza
Take control over the continent
And I ask to be well perfumed
I want to smell good when I finally go down
And I have sent out invitations myself
And I have a priest, a bell-ringer, it's total corruption
But all of this is stated in the will
All of this is stated in the will
And the one who takes care of my Constanze
Gets my hat, gets my shoes, gets my extravaganza
Take control over the continent
I see it before me, crawling towards me
See it before me, crawling towards me
Oh, my sister, oh, my sister, now I know who's the rat
Oh, my sister, oh, my sister, I heard everything you said by my coffin
Oh, Father Martin, oh, Father Martin, this is beginning to reek of gasoline
Oh, my Constanze, my Constanze, take my hat, take my shoes, take my extravaganza
Please reaction Regine Velasquez,Lani M and Jaya The Greatest Love of All please this a high range...and agility....the Trinity...
Hii! Been watching your channel for about 2 months now and I really enjoy watching it!

If u look closely in the crowd you probably see me and my wife😎😂
Janoves writing school: ruclips.net/video/JTLmBiwMIDE/видео.html
YESSS GOOD REACTION but you def reacted to the wrong song if you are looking for vocals, cuz this singer is crazy
I was at this Concert 🤓
👌🤙🤘😉
I 🤍Kaizers
Dafuq, he is cutting the video right smack in the most epic climbs, destroying the whole song.
You have been trolled by your followers:) Kaiser’s is hard to like as a Norwegian and impossible as a foreigner:)
I saw Kaizers live at Malakoff festival last weekend. Amazing performance!
