Limescale doesn’t effect the energy efficiency of a machine. It might delay the heating of the water but only by a seconds at most. This is because a heating element transforms all electrical energy in heat. The energy has no where else to go but to heat up the element. The element then transfers that heat to its surroundings. A huge amount of scale could isolate the element (a bit) causing a slight delay but it in the end all energy will be transfered to the water. The delay can however cause the element to overheat and break down and that should of course be avoided.
Hello!I wanted to ask if I have to change the resins in the softener because it doesn't work properly.. I have taken/purchased an old bar/ice-cream shop and it is used to purificate the water for a dishwasher machine. I have done the regeneration but it doesn't still work properly. For an 8Lt softener how much resin do I have to put in and how much salt do I need to regenerate? Thank you so much!!
That is a lot of water to waste!. What about using four charges of strong brine, waiting in between for the ion exchange to occur. Using the same amount of salt overall but not having to waste so much water. I hate to think how much the big units waste. I presume that you need sodium ions in contact with the ion echange resin and this is contact not flow dependant?
It's just ion exchange resin that has held onto too many calcium/magnesium ions. He puts in dishwasher salt (specifically) so the resin releases the calcium/magnesium ions and holds onto the dishwasher salt (sodium) ions.... It's the exact same process to soften your water. The machine is just flowing water through the resin to actively replace ions, effectively cleaning the resin solution.
Thanks for the clear explanation
Thank you so much!! Very useful video, every time I have to change the salt I watch it because I always doubt what it goes first.

Hi David, how can I regenerate my nitrate resin using airstone to tumble it please
Thanks alot it worked 😊

VERY VERY HELPFULL, thank you very much.
Is it 45 minutes or 4 to 5 minutes to let the water flush through?
what kind of salt is used in resin regeneration
does this get rid of chromum6?

Sir, could you please comment the steps to me? I badly need them for my thesis. I badly need a written presentation. Thanks
is it a secret whats inside the tank, when you pour in the salt.

Nice :)
