Masters of the Air brought me here. Cool cover. Eithne's version is great and works in the setting, which makes sense, but I feel like yours matches the attitude of Woody Guthrie more. The og is upbeat like yours and the punk vocals fit the lyrics. I'm surprised more people have'nt been looking the song up.
Her cover was sanitized to avoid talking about the USSR. I find that unbelievably disrespectful to the original artist and to the 27 million Soviets who died while fighting to liberate the East. I appreciate it when I hear a cover like this one that stays faithful to the original.
