I have the same frustration whenever I order these resin pens because they always put the best ones in the advertisement. If I don't ink them, I will send them back if the pattern is not what I like. These online pen companies need to up their game and post each pen so that we can choose. I'm sorry, but they CAN do that because if they don't, they will be getting returns. These are pieces of art also, so we should be able to choose. If we don't make our voices heard, these online stores will continue to be lazy. Independent pen companies post pictures of each individual pen. And because these are very expensive, they should be able to do it. I would understand if these pens were under a $100, but they are a hefty price.
Absolutely agree! And if we reach out to request for blanks that are currently in stock so we can pick from a few, I don't think that should be pushed off for so long unless they truly truly are very busy...which I get can sometimes happen. I was given pictures from Stilografica for the Euphoria model, which was super helpful. Helped me to NOT buy any and to help me resist the urges because at that point, I knew how it would look in my collection. It wasn't that any of them were bad, they just weren't what I was looking for, which is fine since the pens will sell out eventually to others. Goldspot takes pics of their Scribo pens and the option to pick on that certain pen go from A to Z, which is very interesting. That's the one pen I've seen Goldspot do such a thing for, though, and that pen is 500+, so that was nice of them to do that.
Such beautiful additions to your Leonardo collection! Hopefully you are provided options for your persephone & find one that you love more! Fingers crossed for you. That Hades is love!! Hades looks good! It's kind of reminiscent of the Pelikan M800 in Renaissance Brown color-wise. EndlessPens will be at the Manila Pen Show 2024 this weekend, and I'm going. Yay! I hope to see those pens on their table!

I feel you there Teresa! In retrospect, the Hermes doesn’t have too much meaning for me. I feel that I bought that one impulsively from the excitement. But I’ve skipped on a ton of recent Leonardo’s (honestly there’s been like 10 since these three) and it feels great to be able to say no to so many and stick to the Leonardo’s that do have great meaning to me. I may sell this red one as I just pre ordered Klarissa’s dragon heart Leonardo, which is also red.

Thought I should mention this because I know you’re a big Leonardo fan, but Atlas is having a nice sale on their exclusive Golden Abalone version. I was able to grab one tonight for $170 (before taxes) which seems like a steal for a Jonathan Brooks resin and a Leonardo pen! The rose gold trim is sold out, but the ruthenium is available. Cant wait to see it in person!

I almost snagged their Hinze exclusive too but I don’t know much about that company and I don’t want to splurge:) I left the DC Pen Show without buying a pen (somehow!) so this purchase helped fill that hole. And I always love getting limited runs too. I’m curious if you can share any of the big $ pen brands you’re going after?

I looked very hard at the Gravitas table too- while the designs are a bit more basic looking - his work is incredible. Check out his carbon fiber stuff if he attends!

Great pens and I know what you mean with the Persephone resin, I have the same thing with my Nahvalur Year of the dragon pen, the cap is amazing but the body and grip section are not really showcasing the resin.
Yeah, it's nice if the cap is great, but I'd rather have most of the great resin be on the body since that is what I'll more likely be looking at most of the time while writing (posted or unposted). It definitely feels bad when you get a pen that's mostly not representative of the overall vibe of the pen - then it feels like a totally different pen altogether. Thanks for sharing your experience with your Year of the Dragon pen. That resin is gorgeous, when the colors mix right.
I think my favorite is the Persephone. Over the last ten years or so, I've gotten a lot more into dark and bright pinks (a huge surprise since I pride myself on being so tomboyish and not stereotypically girly!). Leonardo always creates such beautiful, unique pens.
Yeah, Persephone might be my favorite once my new one comes in! I was able to choose among 5 that they showed me, so I'm excited to see it in person! It's not like Hades, but still wild, and unique! I'm glad you're getting into pinks again! I don't think liking pink is strictly a girly thing, but rather a socially accepted thing as being feminine. It can be a bold and strong, too! Lovely! I have to say I think my Hades is my fav seeing it in person , but I do also have a really good balance of colours on my Persephone so really enjoy it. I find that as long as the part that is to top of the pen that I see most of the time is interesting I'm ok with it not being fully perfect?
Yeah, I think during writing, the middle part of the pen and the end piece need to look nice, if posted, the cap and middle part of the pen need to look nice. So I suppose the cap is necessary to look great, too, if you post. So update: The pen I was able to choose for replacement looks great on the cap and has lovely variation on the body, as well, so I am excited!

In my haste of wanting to share my pens (because 3-4 of my friends already received theirs!) - I ended up with a 1 of 2 lottery victory (I didn't request finding the perfect resin for Hermes, that one shipped instantly). I take full responsibility for this lottery, but I don't regret how it turned out though, because I am unsure if they would have chosen this Hades and being that this one was random made it that much more cool :) I had thought they'd just look through 3 boxes (the moment these came in from Italy) and pick the best of those 3 for me, but they put my request off for almost two weeks. So that's when I made my decision to let fate decide! They are very nice people to work with, though, so I feel confident in an even happier ending!
Just got my Hades and mine looks a lot more orange than yours? It looks much closer to the promotional images on the website. The differences in resins is a little TOO jarring sometimes😅I love mine though, I have no complaints.

My Hades finally arrived and it’s amazing. I’m using Diamine Cocoa Shimmer which matches the gold in the pen really well although I want to find an ink that has both black and a bronze / gold color. Did you try the J Herbin Shogun?

I just noticed that the new Phoenix design on the nib is missing from your Hades. Is that because it’s a flex nib?
Yes, the phoenix design is only on the regular nibs. If you want that phoenix engraving, you'll need to get the EF or buy another Leonardo jowo nib XD
