Professional-made video. Great job. I have a F10 (2013 5-series) and I can't find my manual. The roof rack base system that I purchased in 2014 doesn't have the sticker labels to show which rack is the front/rear and which side is right/left. Looking at other public videos, it's assumed that the front rack has the 3 little wings at the bottom portion of the rack. I'm also assuming that the right side of the bottom portion of the plastic black mount loops up from front to back. Is that the correct assumption?
@@siddhantvadan They should just snap close when you push back down on them. Maybe theres some dust or dirt blocking the hinge mechanism on yours? Otherwise it might have broken?
Totally untrue. You can buy them CHEAPER (and crappy) or you can buy them maybe marginally 'better' (i.e. Yakima Thule etc.) but WAY more expensive. You definitely cannot buy cheaper AND better. And in fact the BMW factory rack bars are of super high quality so its super hard to justify paying more for say, a Yakima. The only thing really better w/ for example a big money Yakima is maybe the aero, but these are big old bars up in the air so its not going to really make that big a difference. The factory BMW bars are 'standard' T-slots too so you can use all kinds of / any kind of aftermarket attachments that use T-slots. I like to use the BMW bars then Yakima / Thule / Rocky Mounts etc. attachments.
Great video man
Great Video, thanks!

The three little wings yes is the front. I am not sure about the mount loop.
how do you close that roof rack mount flap back? mine is not closing all the way back. its still a bit open and looks kind of bad...
Are you talking about the flap where the key goes into?

Does this affect the sunroof from opening?
No the sunroof is still 100% operational
As long as youre getting the original it wil never affect opening/closing anything :)
Does your roof bars whistle with those slots underneath the front bar? Mine does and now I am wondering if its installed correctly
Every rack is going to add a slight bit of wind noise
M logos would have added 14+ Hp
Of course and thats per M logo 😂
Matthew Wong Great video though, keep it up man👍🏼 🤙🏼
Thanks man!@@chicagocars
Is this possible to install on the f31?
I do not believe the f30 racks fit on the f31's
There is F31 specific roof bars, part#82712350124
Is they fits my f30?
If its an F30 platform yes it will fit!
I was thinking they would give me at least 5 hp
throw some M badges on and it'll be more :P
@@MatthewWong I actually took out the license plate frame to reduce weight and Its much faster now
Could this roof rack fit my series 3 gt
Hi.
If you have found the answer to your question, please let me know cause I also have an F34 . Thanks
Blablabla BMW BMW you can bought lot's cheaper and better than BMW
