We needed an R - Rating. That would've probably helped. When you can up the Violence it will shift the tone of the story.

The first one had me worried and I gave up before the second.
The payoff with Venom should have always been a movie with Spider-Man. If it's not happening, I don't care, especially after how bad the last one was.

Yeah my expectations aren’t really high for this movie given Sony terrible track record as of late.
No you can't do Knull. Knull should be bigger than Endgame in various ways. It's like a final battle to be earned after 20+ Venom films, or at least like 8. I guess it could be done if you scale Knull down to be only stronger than Venom, not the god tier character he was. I wouldn't turn it down but man I'd have a mood about it. I read those comics once. I couldn't drop a speech on the scaling and power levels but I remember being freaked out by the scale of it. I'd hate to see a Dark Phoenix style debacle. The road to a big event is sometimes more important than the grand finale.
I'm interested b/c they are following up from the No Way Home film: the soldier puts the piece of Venom that he left behind in the 616 in a test tube and the actor doing this is the same guy that plays Mordo in Doctor Strange! I think there are some timeline shinanigans happening but Sony doesn't know how the Marvel fan base feels right now with MORE multiverse stuff but I mean, it's right there.
Everything points to Venom splitting from Eddie. Sony & Disney couldn't probably come to terms on Spider-Man crossover so we're left with this. Guarantee that Sgt. is that universe's Flash Thompson and it'll end up making him Agent Venom 🙄 Joe Sh'moe.
As much as i’d like for Knull to be the main villain. He’s most likely way too powerful still unless it’s a avatar or they’re planning to destroy the Sony universe just after Deadpool and Wolverine brings Eddie and Miles across to the mcu officially
I had the same reaction as you Amanda. Kinda oh well. I’ll be more motivated to try it on streaming. Some on the internet are drooling over this. Perhaps for me it’s the excessive comedy that’s not my cup of tea.
IMO the huge success of the OG Guardians Of The Galaxy changed the comedic tone in superhero movies , which is fine if handled well …unfortunately you get a Thor : Ragnarok where it is incorporated nicely, but then the same writer director tries to up his game for the sequel & you get Thor: L&T which made Thor a parody of himself …sorry about responding to your comment with my rant 🖖🏾

Yeah I think this one might be the best in the trilogy but really that's not saying much at all, fingers crossed it's at least decent and not trash like Morbius and Madame Web, also it's funny that we got a symbiote invasion in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and now we're getting another one in this movie only one year later, Sony really likes the concept of the Symbiote Invasion Lol

Sony has been too disappointing. There's only so much that actors can do if the production and writing just isn't doing great. It really doesn't seem like Venom will be having any character development and will be staying the awkward dorky goober that he is. I might catch it Imax, but ehh maybe it'll fall b/w the first and Let there be Carnage films

these sony spider-man villain movies without spider-man that are also incapable of actually making the villains be villains are so awful and pointless and dumb in concept it’s so embarrassing
practically a scam to maintain the rights to the characters at this point, shouldn’t even be legal
The thumbnail alone let me know that you aren't sold on this trilogy which means I'm definitely not watching it 😂😂😂. I love Tom but sonys track record of Spider-Man characters outside of Spider-Man has not been good, and it feels like it's trying to be like Deadpool with the tone of the film which I would have liked a much darker tone with a rated r setting but either way congrats to Tom on actually being the first actor inside the spider man Sony verse to complete a trilogy but we all know THIS doesn't work without Peter Parker....
