  • In this episode I talk to Nathan Mills from Atlanta Georgia US, about his career, his life and not least about the way he works with GrandMA3.
    This is the first episode in the event-lighting series of conversations with GrandMA3 programmers around the world, which is about the way he has chosen to work with GrandMA3.
    This podcast series is intended as a help to others who work with GrandMA3 so that you can see how he does it and why he has chosen to work in a certain way.
    One of the amazing things about GrandMA3, is that there is so many options to make your own style of programming the console, just the way you prefer to work. There are no right or wrongs, only choices.
    I hope you will watch the episode and that you will get something valuable out of it.

    I used to work with Nate in the whitewater realm where he’s a true legend for so many reasons. He used to throw the most epic and innovative events. He’s a great guy and this was fun to watch.

    For a minute there I was terrified that working in the programmer of MA3 wasn’t compatible as other consoles, so it was super nice to see someone working primarily in the programmer

    I see a lot of Nathan in myself! If I read something, I usually don't remember it. If I learn by the hands on approach I will remember it. And, Tue, your videos have gotten me to where I am today. I know just enough to be considered dangerous but I know I can always find an answer to my problem by rewatching your video. Keep up your GREAT work!

      Thank you for helping me not feel so alone in this. I definitely struggle to remember anything until I actually do it a few times.

    Strange place to ask this but don’t want to leave the video,
    I’ve been touring on ma2 for four or so years and just moved to ma3 recently. There is one thing I don’t understand and can’t turn off, I find that the fade/delay times track from sequences into the programmer. If I store a cue with a reciepe saying , Group 1, Position x, MAtricks Fade 1 then fire the cue, if you grasp the group 1 and change the position in the programmer it will fade over 1 second. This did not happen in 2 and I want to know what people think of it’s use cases and how to turn it off

    • @thenateman6969
      @thenateman6969 Год назад

      How i handle that is by having Program Time and Executor Time sitting above my Program Speed and Master faders(the two largest faders) the key is on/off and the rotating knob is to set time.
      Hope this helps

      @@thenateman6969 that is a solution for certain show types, I want to know why ma3 does this and 2 does not - what’s the idea behind it and can I turn it off.
      Really annoying when I’m programming a cue stack and my spots did a 30 second fade in the most recent cue, then in the programmer call a new position and it takes 30 seconds to get there

    I've been learning GrandMA3 for about a year and your show file would definitely help me to learn it even more deeply. So it would be great if you could send me your showfile so i can learn from it.
