A sign of a changing mindset in Congress, particularly on the Republican side of the aisle. There is a point where this (prior) assumption that there is an alternate fact world, which Santos for whatever reason, took the idea to the extreme, and became a serial liar. There are another such person from formerly high office who was "outraged today about Santos' expulsion." The local headline might read, "Florida man outraged, see pg.26."

Just a reminder that Menendez is a senator, not a congressman, and that the senate and Congress have separate rules entirely. If you want him expelled next, then maybe you should be contacting your senators
Not sure when; but the last few years people have REALLY become confused on the terminology.
There are Two legislative Chambers in Congress - The House and The Senate.
Referring to either as a single entity as 'congress' is not correct.
Some of this stems from hyper-partisan 'news' when a news org will state:
CONGRESS passes XYZ Law.
When in reality it is only One of the Chambers that did so.
Note: The Senate is considered the Higher of the two chambers and Senators are rarely called 'congressmen', but rather the more formal, 'Senator'.
But all 535 elected state representatives consisting of House Reps and Senators ARE congressmen and are members of 'congress'.

Thing is, none of the charges against Trump have actually gone through. The judge that has currently found him guilty even stated that were there a jury, they would override their vote (illegally) if they didn't vote the way the judge wanted. The judge also equated ridiculous terms such as "tax evaluation" and "market value" and assigned a value to Trump's properties that was LESS than the property makes in a single year...
Maria Elvira Salazar voted NOT to expel George Santos. She voted alongside Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert and Anna Paulina-Luna to keep George Santos in the House of Congress. Mario Diaz-Balart and Carlos Gimenez, both voted to expel George Santos. The House voted to boot Santos, R-N.Y., from the lower chamber by a bipartisan vote of 311-114. An expulsion vote requires a two-thirds vote to pass − a heavy lift in the divided House.
